《巢氏病源》小儿目赤痛候∶肝气通于目，脏内有客热，与胸膈痰饮相搏，熏渍于肝，肝中热气冲发于目，
故令目赤也，甚则生翳。
汉东王先生《家宝》治眼病证，婴孩小儿目赤者，因上焦壅热，痰饮相搏，熏渍于肝，以致眼昏涩疼痛，
宜用金连散、（方见夹惊伤寒门中）。轻青丹（方见单伤寒门中）。洗肝散、四顺散各二、三服，相间与之。并用青凉膏贴
两
太阳穴。（三方并见本门）。如根据资次不退，腑脏痰壅渐加，热痛，其热气蕴积，则变生障翳。
《外台》五忌云∶凡目疾，不问少长男女等，所忌有五∶一房室；二面酒；三目冲风冷霜雪，向日远视；
四哭泣嗔怒；五终身不用吃生、五辛、荞麦、煮葵菜。若因疾犯者，则疾深难疗。幸细意将慎，百无一失，故
其五忌也。儿小者虽不能皆犯此五忌，然其间有不可不忌者。
《颅囟经》治孩儿赤眼，并胎热及疳瘴多泪。茴香散
茴香 冬青胆（阴干） 生甘草（各等分）
上每洗眼时，取药一分，水一盏，煎十沸后温洗之。或孩儿长大，即加药并水。
《颅囟经》孩子用洗眼后，更服饮子方。
知母 黄芩 青葙子 地肤子 秦皮 车前草 山栀子 独活（各等分）
上件药以水五合，煎二合，去滓温服。忌食如常。
《千金》治目热 赤，生赤脉侵睛， 肉，急痛闭不开，如芥在眼碜痛。大枣煎方
大枣（七枚，去皮核） 黄连（二两，碎，绵裹） 淡竹叶（四，五合）
上三味，以水二升，先煮竹叶取一升，澄清取八合。内枣肉、黄连煎取四合。去滓令净，细细以敷 中。
《千金翼》治目赤痛方。
雄黄 细辛 干姜（各一铢） 黄连（四铢）
上四味细筛，绵裹，以唾濡头注药，内大 ，必闭目，目中泪出，须臾自止。勿手近，勿用冷水浇。
《千金翼》又方
雄黄 干姜 黄连 矾石（烧半日。各一分）
上四味合用之如前方，可加细辛一分。
《千金翼》治目赤，口干唇裂方。
石膏（一斤，碎） 生地黄汁 赤蜜（各一升） 淡竹叶（切，一升）
上四味，以水一斗二升，煮竹叶取七升，去滓，下地黄汁，两沸，下澄清；煮石膏取一升半，蜜取三升，细细服之。
《千金翼》治赤眼方。
上取杏仁四十九颗，末之。绢袋裹饭底蒸之，热绞取脂。以铜青、胡粉各如大豆，干姜、盐各如半大豆，
熟研之。以鸡毛沾取掠眼中 头。日二，不过三瘥。
《千金翼》赤眼方。
杏仁脂（一合） 盐绿（如枣核大） 印成盐（三颗）
上三味，取杏仁脂法∶先捣杏仁如脂，布袋盛，蒸熟绞取脂。置密器中，纳诸药，直坐着其中，密盖二、
七日。夜卧注目四 ，不过七度瘥止。
《千金翼》治赤眼不问久近方。
上用 砂三两一味，以醋浆 器中浸，日中曝之三日。药着器四畔，干者取如粟米大，夜着两 头，不过
三、四度永瘥。并石盐、石胆等尤佳。
《千金翼》治眼赤晕白膜翳方。
上用麻烛一尺，薄批猪脂裹使匝，燃烛，以铜器承取脂。内蕤仁三十枚，研胡粉少许，合和令熟，夜内两
中。
《千金翼》又方
上用枸杞汁洗目，日五度良，煮用亦得。
《千金翼》治赤眼方。
石胆 蕤仁 盐绿 细辛（各一两） 生驴脂（一合）
上五味为末，以乳汁和，夜点两 。
《外台》谢道人疗眼暴肿毒，痛不可忍欲生翳方。
决明子 栀子仁（肥精者） 地肤子 茺蔚子 干蓝菜（切。各一升） 石膏（研） 升麻（切。各四两） 苦竹
叶（切，二升） 芒硝（二两） 春车前草汁（一升二合） 冬瓜子（三升，为末）
上十一味以水二斗，煮竹叶取七升二合，去滓，纳诸药煮取四升，分为四服。每服相去可两食间，再服为
度。小儿减药，以意裁之。

《圣惠》治小儿赤眼，涩痛不开，由膈中有热。宜服决明散方
决明子 子芩 柴胡（去苗） 川大黄（锉，微炒） 川升麻 栀子仁 甘草（炙微赤，锉） 羚羊角（屑。各半
两） 石膏（一两）
上件药捣，粗罗为散，每服一钱。以水一小盏，入竹叶七片，煎至五分，去滓。不计时候，随儿大小加减
温服。
《圣惠》治小儿热毒，眼疼痛赤涩，热泪不止方。

真珠（末研入） 青葙子（各一分） 牛黄（细研） 甘草（炙微赤，锉） 黄连（去须。各半分） 蔓菁子（半
两）
上件药捣，细罗为散，入研了药，都研令匀。每服以熟水调下半钱，量儿大小加减服之。
《圣惠》治小儿肝脏久积风热，毒上攻两眼，赤痛。宜服胡黄连散方
胡黄连 真珠（末，研入。各一分） 栀子仁 甘草（炙微赤，锉。各半两）
上件药捣，罗为散，入真珠粉同研令匀。每服一字，浓煎竹叶汤温温调下，不计时候。量儿大小加减服之。
《圣惠》治小儿肝心壅热上冲，眼赤肿疼痛。牛黄丸方
牛黄 熊胆（各细研，一分） 朱砂（细研，水飞过） 黄连（末，各半两） 龙脑（细研） 腻粉（各一钱）
上件药都研令匀，炼蜜和丸如麻子大。不计时候，以温水下五丸。量儿大小以意加减。
《圣惠》治小儿热毒，眼赤痛。黄连水药煎方。
黄连（去须） 蕤仁（汤浸，去皮，研入） 杏仁（各四十九枚。汤浸，去皮尖、双仁，研入） 黄柏（锉） 青
盐（各半两） 腻粉 龙脑（细研。各一钱）
上件药捣，细罗为末，入研了药令匀。以生绢袋盛，用雪水二大盏，浸药一七日，取出药袋子，将药汁灌
在竹筒内，密裹封，坐在重汤锅中，煮一伏时，掘地坑子深三尺，埋一宿取出，入龙脑搅令匀，以瓷瓶盛，
旋取点之。
《圣惠》治小儿暴赤眼涩痛神效方。
龙脑（半钱） 秦皮（锉） 黄连（去须） 甘草（生锉） 马牙硝（炼过，细研。各半两）
上件药捣，罗为末。用水一大盏浸药一宿，以银铫子煎至五分，以新绵滤过，入龙脑搅令匀，用瓷器盛。
日三度，以铜箸点之。
《圣惠》治小儿暴赤眼涩痛，点眼方。
黄连（末） 杏仁（汤浸，去皮尖。各一分） 腻粉（半钱） 蕤仁（半分，汤浸，去皮）
上件药先将杏仁、蕤仁烂研如膏，后入黄连、腻粉相和研了，以新绵浓裹却，以新汲水半小盏，于净器内
浸药半日，捩取汁。日三、四度点之。
《圣惠》又方
甘蔗汁（三合） 黄连（末，半两）
上件药于铜器中以慢火熬养，令汁减半，以绵滤。每日三、四度点之。
《圣惠》又方
龙脑（一钱） 川朴硝（半两）
上件药都研令细。每用如绿豆大，日三、四度点之。
《圣惠》治小儿眼暴赤痛，点眼方。
鸡子（一枚） 黄连（末，半两）
上取鸡子敲破头，作小窍子，出黄取清，调拌黄连末，却内鸡子壳中，蜡纸封裹，于青泥坑中浸三两日，
不得令没。取出。日三、四度点之。
《圣惠》又方
杏仁（一分，汤浸，去皮尖） 龙脑（三豆许大）
上件药先研杏仁，后入龙脑，同研如膏。频点少许目 中，瘥。
《圣惠》治小儿目暴赤，热毒肿痛方。
蕤仁（一分，去皮，研） 黄连（末，半两）
上件药同研，以绵裹，内鸡子白中，浸一宿后，和如膏。以半小豆大，点目两 ，良久，用热水洗之。
《圣惠》治小儿眼痛赤，洗眼方。
黄柏 秦艽（去苗。各一两） 蕤仁（半两，汤浸，去皮） 干枣（一七枚，去核）
上件药细锉。以水三大盏，煎至二盏，去滓。放温时时用洗之。
生地黄 黄芩 决明子（各一两） 竹叶（切，一升） 赤芍药（半两）
上件药细锉，以水二碗煮一二十沸，去滓，澄清。日三、四度洗之。
《圣惠》治小儿眼赤痛，不能开方。
竹沥（三合） 人乳汁（一合）
上件药相和，以绵滤过，时时拭眼中。月内儿及三岁以下，并宜用之。
《圣惠》治小儿肝脏风热，上攻于目，疼痛不止。宜用牛黄膏方
牛黄（一分） 川大黄（一两，细锉，生用）
上先捣、罗大黄为末，与牛黄同研令匀，以生地黄汁调如稀膏。匀于纸上贴眼，候干，时时以冷水润之，
如食顷间重换。
《圣惠》治小儿蓐内患赤眼方。
黄连（去须） 黄柏（各一钱）
上件药细锉，以奶汁浸半日，绵裹滤去滓，频点之。
太医局羚羊角散 治大人、小儿一切风热，毒瓦斯上冲，眼目暴发赤肿，或生疮疼痛，隐涩羞明方。
羚羊角（镑） 川升麻 黄芩 车前子 甘草（微炙。各十两） 决明子（二十两） 草龙胆（去芦头） 栀子仁
（各五两）
上为细末。每服一钱，食后温熟水调下，日进三服。小儿可服半钱。
太医局秦皮散 治大人、小儿风毒赤眼，肿痛痒涩，眵泪昏暗方。
秦皮（锉） 桂府滑石（槌碎） 黄连（去须。各十两）
上为末。每用半钱，沸汤点，去滓，温热频洗。
《婴孺》治小儿赤眼方。
黄连（半两，槌） 丁香（五个） 枣（一枚，去核）
上以水半升，铜器中煎至一大合，勿令灰入，澄了。却入铜器中，纸封头避尘土，点 中。
《婴孺》治小儿头眼热痛方。
木香 白檀香（各三分）
上为末，以水涂额上，干则易之。

上取芭蕉汁涂额上，立愈。

仁（去皮尖） 寒水石（碎。各六分）
上以水五升，煮一升半，五、六岁为三服。

（目肿附）
《巢氏病源》中关于小儿目赤痛的论述：肝气通达于目，脏腑内有客居之热邪，与胸膈间的痰饮相互搏结，熏蒸浸渍肝脏，肝中的热气冲发至眼部，因此导致眼睛发红。严重时会长出翳膜。
汉东王先生《家宝》治疗眼病的证候：婴幼儿眼睛发红，是因为上焦壅滞有热，痰饮相互搏结，熏蒸浸渍肝脏，从而导致眼睛昏花、干涩、疼痛。适宜使用金连散（方剂见夹惊伤寒门中）、轻青丹（方剂见单伤寒门中）、洗肝散、四顺散，各服用二到三剂，交替给予。同时用青凉膏贴敷双侧太阳穴。（这三个方剂均见本门）。如果按照上述方法依次治疗仍不退去，腑脏痰浊壅盛逐渐加重，出现热痛，热气蕴积，则会变生为障翳。
《外台秘要》记载的五忌说：凡是眼疾，不论老少男女，所忌讳的有五件事：一是房事；二是面食和酒类；三是眼睛遭受风冷霜雪侵袭，或长时间向远处看太阳；四是哭泣和愤怒；五是终身不吃生冷食物、五辛（葱、蒜、韭、薤、兴渠）、荞麦、煮熟的葵菜。如果因为患病而触犯这些禁忌，那么病情就会加深，难以治愈。希望仔细谨慎对待，做到百无一失，这就是所谓的五忌。年幼的孩子虽然不一定都会触犯这五项禁忌，但其中有些是绝对不能触犯的。
《颅囟经》治疗孩子红眼，以及胎热和疳积引起的多泪症状。茴香散
配方：茴香、冬青胆（阴干）、生甘草（以上各等分）
用法：每次洗眼时，取药一分，水一盏，煎煮十沸后，趁温热清洗眼睛。如果孩子长大，则增加药物和水的用量。
《颅囟经》孩子在洗眼后，再服用以下饮子方。
配方：知母、黄芩、青葙子、地肤子、秦皮、车前草、山栀子、独活（以上各等分）
用法：以上药材用水五合，煎煮至二合，滤去药渣，温服。饮食禁忌如常。
《千金方》治疗目热、眼红，生出红色血脉侵入黑睛，眼睑肿胀，急痛无法睁开，感觉像芥末在眼中磨痛。大枣煎方
配方：大枣（七枚，去皮核）、黄连（二两，捣碎，用绵布包裹）、淡竹叶（四到五合）
用法：以上三味药，用水二升，先煮竹叶取一升，澄清后取八合。加入枣肉、黄连，煎煮取四合。滤去药渣使其洁净，细细地涂抹在眼中。
《千金翼方》治疗目赤痛的方子。
配方：雄黄、细辛、干姜（以上各一铢）、黄连（四铢）
用法：以上四味药细筛，用绵布包裹，用唾液湿润药头，滴入大眼中，必须闭上眼睛，眼中流泪，片刻后自然停止。不要用手靠近，不要用冷水浇淋。
《千金翼方》又一方
配方：雄黄、干姜、黄连、矾石（烧制半天。以上各一分）
用法：以上四味药合用，方法同前方，可以加细辛一分。
《千金翼方》治疗目赤，口干唇裂的方子。
配方：石膏（一斤，捣碎）、生地黄汁、赤蜜（以上各一升）、淡竹叶（切碎，一升）
用法：以上四味药，用水一斗二升，煮竹叶取七升，滤去药渣，下地黄汁，煮沸两次，下澄清液；煮石膏取一升半，蜜取三升，细细服用。
《千金翼方》治疗红眼的方子。
用法：取杏仁四十九颗，研成粉末。用绢袋包裹放在饭底蒸熟，趁热绞取油脂。加入铜青、胡粉各如大豆大小，干姜、盐各如半大豆大小，熟研均匀。用鸡毛沾取涂抹在眼睑边缘。每日两次，不超过三次即可痊愈。
《千金翼方》红眼方。
配方：杏仁脂（一合）、盐绿（如枣核大）、印成盐（三颗）
用法：取杏仁脂的方法：先捣杏仁如脂状，用布袋盛装，蒸熟后绞取油脂。放入密闭容器中，纳入诸药，直立放置在其中，密封盖好二到七日。夜间躺着注视上方四次，不超过七次即可痊愈。
《千金翼方》治疗红眼，不问病程久近的方子。
用法：取硇砂三两一味，在醋浆容器中浸泡，中午曝晒三天。药物附着在容器四周，干燥后取如粟米大小，夜间点入两眼眼角，不超过三四次可永久痊愈。配合石盐、石胆等效果更佳。
《千金翼方》治疗眼赤晕白膜翳的方子。
用法：取麻烛一尺，薄批猪脂包裹使其环绕，点燃蜡烛，用铜器承接收集的油脂。纳入蕤仁三十枚，研少许胡粉，混合煮熟，夜间点入两眼内。
《千金翼方》又一方
用法：取枸杞汁洗眼，每日五次效果好，煮用也可以。
《千金翼方》治疗红眼的方子。
配方：石胆、蕤仁、盐绿、细辛（以上各一两）、生驴脂（一合）
用法：以上五味药研成粉末，用乳汁调和，夜间点入两眼。
《外台秘要》谢道人治疗眼睛突发肿胀毒痛，疼痛难忍欲生翳膜的方子。
配方：决明子、栀子仁（肥厚精实者）、地肤子、茺蔚子、干蓝菜（切碎。以上各一升）、石膏（研碎）、升麻（切碎。以上各四两）、苦竹叶（切碎，二升）、芒硝（二两）、春车前草汁（一升二合）、冬瓜子（三升，研成粉末）
用法：以上十一味药用水二斗，煮竹叶取七升二合，滤去药渣，纳入诸药煮取四升，分为四服。每服间隔约两顿饭的时间，以再服为限度。小儿减少药量，根据情况裁减。
《外台秘要》：《古今录验》治疗小儿眼痛的方子。
用法：取淡竹沥擦拭患处。

用法：取鲤鱼胆汁敷涂患处。（《婴孺》以鲤鱼胆汁点眼。）

《圣惠方》治疗小儿眼风热、干涩、红痛。栀子仁散方
配方：栀子仁、黄芩、犀角（锉屑）、龙胆（去芦头）、赤芍药、黄连（去须）、川大黄（锉碎，微炒）、甘草（炙微赤，锉碎。以上各半两）
用法：以上药材捣筛为散。每服一钱，用水一小盏，煎至五分，滤去药渣温服。根据孩子大小酌情加减。
《圣惠方》治疗小儿红眼，干涩疼痛睁不开，由膈中有热引起。宜服决明散方
配方：决明子、子芩、柴胡（去苗）、川大黄（锉碎，微炒）、川升麻、栀子仁、甘草（炙微赤，锉碎）、羚羊角（锉屑。以上各半两）、石膏（一两）
用法：以上药材捣碎，粗罗为散，每服一钱。用水一小盏，入竹叶七片，煎至五分，滤去药渣。不限时候，随孩子大小加减温服。
《圣惠方》治疗小儿热毒，眼睛疼痛红涩，热泪不止方。
配方：元参、决明子、甘草（炙微赤，锉碎）、黄芩、栀子仁、犀角（犀角屑）、牛黄（细研。以上各半两）、龙脑（半钱，细研）
用法：以上药材捣碎，细罗为散。全部研匀。每次饭后用蜜水调服半钱，五岁以上儿童增加剂量。
《圣惠方》治疗小儿肝脏壅热，两眼红痛。龙脑散方
配方：龙脑（一钱，细研）、栀子仁、黄芩、麦门冬（去心，焙干）、地骨皮、川升麻、犀角（锉屑，以上各半两）、川大黄（一两，锉碎，微炒）、甘草（炙微赤，锉碎）、牛黄（细研。以上各一分）
用法：以上药材捣碎，细罗为散。每次饭后用温水调服半钱，五岁以下儿童可服一字。
《圣惠方》治疗小儿肝脏风热，上注眼目，红肿胀痛。羚羊角散方
配方：羚羊角（锉屑）、犀角（锉屑）、赤芍药（以上各三分）、黄连（去须）、马牙硝、朱砂（细研。以上各一分）、牛黄、天竺黄（以上各细研）、川升麻、川芎、甘草（炙微赤，锉碎）、当归（锉碎，微炒。以上各半两）

配方：胡黄连、真珠（末，研入。以上各一分）、栀子仁、甘草（炙微赤，锉碎。以上各半两）
用法：以上药材捣碎，罗为散，加入真珠粉同研令匀。每次服一字，浓煎竹叶汤温温调下，不限时候。根据孩子大小加减服用。
《圣惠方》治疗小儿肝心壅热上冲，眼红肿胀疼痛。牛黄丸方
配方：牛黄、熊胆（以上各细研，一分）、朱砂（细研，水飞过）、黄连（末，以上各半两）、龙脑（细研）、腻粉（以上各一钱）
用法：以上药材都研匀，炼蜜和丸如麻子大。不限时候，用温水送服五丸。根据孩子大小酌情加减。
《圣惠方》治疗小儿热毒，眼红痛。黄连水药煎方。
配方：黄连（去须）、蕤仁（汤浸，去皮，研入）、杏仁（以上各四十九枚。汤浸，去皮尖、双仁，研入）、黄柏（锉碎）、青盐（以上各半两）、腻粉、龙脑（细研。以上各一钱）
用法：以上药材捣碎，细罗为末，加入已研好的药令其均匀。用生绢袋盛装，用雪水两大盏，浸泡药物一七日，取出药袋子，将药汁灌在竹筒内，严密包裹封口，坐在重汤锅中，煮一个时辰，掘地坑深三尺，埋藏一夜取出，加入龙脑搅匀，用瓷瓶盛装，随时取用点眼。
《圣惠方》治疗小儿暴发性红眼干痛神效方。
配方：龙脑（半钱）、秦皮（锉碎）、黄连（去须）、甘草（生锉）、马牙硝（炼过，细研。以上各半两）
用法：以上药材捣碎，罗为末。用水一大盏浸泡药物一宿，用银铫子煎至五分，用新棉过滤，加入龙脑搅匀，用瓷器盛装。每日三次，用铜箸点眼。
《圣惠方》治疗小儿暴发性红眼干痛，点眼方。
配方：黄连（末）、杏仁（汤浸，去皮尖。以上各一分）、腻粉（半钱）、蕤仁（半分，汤浸，去皮）
用法：以上药材先将杏仁、蕤仁烂研如膏，后入黄连、腻粉相和研匀，用新棉浓裹，用新汲水半小盏，在净器内浸泡药物半天，拧取汁液。每日三四次点眼。

配方：甘蔗汁（三合）、黄连（末，半两）
用法：以上药材在铜器中以慢火熬煮，令汁液减半，用绵过滤。每日三四次点眼。

配方：龙脑（一钱）、川朴硝（半两）
用法：以上药材都研细。每次用如绿豆大小，每日三四次点眼。
《圣惠方》治疗小儿眼暴红痛，点眼方。
配方：鸡子（一枚）、黄连（末，半两）
用法：取鸡子敲破头部，作小孔，取出蛋黄留清，拌入黄连末，放回鸡子壳中，蜡纸封裹，在青泥坑中浸泡两三日，不要让鸡子没入水中。取出。每日三四次点眼。
《圣惠方》又一方
配方：杏仁（一分，汤浸，去皮尖）、龙脑（三豆许大）
用法：以上药材先研杏仁，后入龙脑，同研如膏。频繁点少许入眼中，痊愈。
《圣惠方》治疗小儿目暴红，热毒肿痛方。
配方：蕤仁（一分，去皮，研）、黄连（末，半两）
用法：以上药材同研，用绵包裹，放入鸡蛋清中，浸泡一夜后，和如膏状。取半颗豆子大小，点入两眼，良久，用热水清洗。
《圣惠方》治疗小儿眼痛红，洗眼方。
配方：黄柏、秦艽（去苗。以上各一两）、蕤仁（半两，汤浸，去皮）、干枣（一七枚，去核）
用法：以上药材细锉。用水三大盏，煎至二盏，滤去药渣。放温时时清洗。
配方：生地黄、黄芩、决明子（以上各一两）、竹叶（切碎，一升）、赤芍药（半两）
用法：以上药材细锉，用水二碗煮一二十沸，滤去药渣，澄清。每日三四次清洗。
《圣惠方》治疗小儿眼红痛，不能睁开方。
配方：竹沥（三合）、人乳汁（一合）
用法：以上药材相和，用绵过滤，时时擦拭眼中。月内婴儿及三岁以下的，都适宜使用。
《圣惠方》治疗小儿肝脏风热，上攻于目，疼痛不止。宜用牛黄膏方
配方：牛黄（一分）、川大黄（一两，细锉，生用）
用法：先捣、罗大黄为末，与牛黄同研令匀，用生地黄汁调如稀膏。均匀涂在纸上贴敷眼睛，待干，时时用冷水润湿，如一顿饭时间重新更换。
《圣惠方》治疗小儿出生即患红眼方。
配方：黄连（去须）、黄柏（以上各一钱）
用法：以上药材细锉，用奶汁浸泡半天，绵裹滤去药渣，频繁点眼。
太医局羚羊角散 治疗大人、小儿一切风热，毒瓦斯上冲，眼睛突发红肿，或生疮疼痛，隐涩羞明方。
配方：羚羊角（镑片）、川升麻、黄芩、车前子、甘草（微炙。以上各十两）、决明子（二十两）、草龙胆（去芦头）、栀子仁（以上各五两）
用法：以上为细末。每服一钱，食后温熟水调下，每日进三服。小儿可服半钱。
太医局秦皮散 治疗大人、小儿风毒红眼，肿痛痒涩，眼屎泪水昏暗方。
配方：秦皮（锉碎）、桂府滑石（捶碎）、黄连（去须。以上各十两）
用法：以上为末。每次用半钱，沸水冲泡，滤去药渣，温热频繁清洗。
《婴孺》治疗小儿红眼方。
配方：黄连（半两，捶碎）、丁香（五个）、枣（一枚，去核）
用法：以上用水半升，在铜器中煎至一大合，不要让灰进入，澄清后。再放入铜器中，用纸封住口避免尘土，点眼中。
《婴孺》治疗小儿头眼热痛方。
配方：木香、白檀香（以上各三分）
用法：以上为末，用水涂在额头上，干了就换。
《婴孺》又一方
用法：取芭蕉汁涂在额头上，立即痊愈。

配方：决明子、大黄、子芩、栀子仁（以上各七分）、升麻、芍药、柴胡（以上各六分）、枳壳（三分，炙）、竹叶（切碎，八合）、石膏（十分，捣碎，绵裹）、杏仁（去皮、捣碎）、甘草（炙。以上各二分）
用法：以上用水四升，煮取一升二合，分为四服。一到两岁幼儿服一合。如果生障翳，加地肤子五分。
《婴孺》治疗小儿眼赤膜，膜不开，膈中有热。决明汤方。

用法：以上用水五升，煮取一升半，五六岁幼儿分为三服。

*Chao Shi Bing Yuan* (Source of Diseases by Chao Yuanfang) describes the syndrome of red and painful eyes in children: The liver qi connects to the eyes. When internal organs harbor exogenous heat, it combats with phlegm-fluids in the chest and diaphragm, steaming and soaking the liver. The heat qi in the liver rushes to the eyes, causing redness; if severe, nebulae (opacities) may form.
Mr. Wang from Handong's *Jia Bao* (Family Treasure) treats eye disease syndromes: Infants with red eyes are caused by stagnation and heat in the upper jiao, where phlegm-fluids combat each other, steaming and soaking the liver, leading to blurry, dry, aching, and painful eyes. It is appropriate to use Jinlian San (Gold-Link Powder), (formula seen in the "Cold Damage with Clamping Wind" section). Qingqing Dan (Light Green Pill), (formula seen in the "Single Cold Damage" section). Xigan San (Liver-Washing Powder), Sishun San (Four-Smooth Powder), each taken for two or three doses, alternating them. Apply Qingliang Gao (Cooling Ointment) to both Taiyang acupoints. (All three formulas are seen in this section). If following these methods sequentially does not resolve the condition, and organ/phlegm stagnation gradually increases, accompanied by hot pain, the accumulated heat will transform into nebulae.
*Waitai Mi Yao* (Essential Prescriptions from the Imperial Library) states five prohibitions: For any eye disease, regardless of age or gender, there are five prohibitions: 1. Sexual intercourse; 2. Alcohol and wheat products; 3. Exposing eyes to wind, cold, frost, snow, or staring far at the sun; 4. Crying and anger; 5. Lifelong avoidance of raw food, Five Pungent Spices (garlic, chives, leeks, onions, asafoetida), buckwheat, and boiled malva vegetables. Violating these due to illness will deepen the disease and make it difficult to treat. Be careful and cautious, and you will rarely fail. Hence, these are called the Five Prohibitions. Although young children may not violate all five, some must be avoided.

Take the three ingredients, add two sheng of water, first boil Danshuye to obtain one sheng, clarify and take eight he. Add date flesh and Huanglian, boil to obtain four he. Remove dregs until clean, and finely apply to the eyes.

Sift the four ingredients finely, wrap in silk, moisten the tip with saliva, drip into the eye, keep eyes closed. Tears will flow, stopping after a moment. Do not touch with hands, do not pour cold water.

Take the four ingredients, add twelve sheng of water, boil Danshuye to obtain seven sheng, remove dregs, add Dihuangzhi, boil twice, add clarified liquid; boil Shigao to obtain one and a half sheng, add three sheng of honey, drink slowly.
*Qianjin Yifang* Treats red eyes.
Take forty-nine Xingren (Pruni Armeniaci Semen), powder them. Wrap in silk bag, steam over rice base, squeeze out fat while hot. Use Tongqing (Malachite) and Fufen (Lead White) each size of a soybean, Jiangjiang (Zingiberis Radix Recens) and Yan (Salt) each half soybean size, grind熟 (thoroughly). Dip chicken feather in and brush on the eyelid margin. Twice daily, no more than three times to cure.

Xingrenzhi (Apricot Kernel Fat, one he) Yanlü (Green Vitriol, date-pit size) Yinchengyan (Stamped Salt, three grains)
Method to obtain Xingrenzhi: First pound Xingren until fatty, put in cloth bag, steam熟 (cooked), squeeze out fat. Put in sealed container, add other drugs, sit upright inside, seal tightly for two to seven days. At night, gaze at the eyes around, no more than seven times to cure.
*Qianjin Yifang* Treats red eyes regardless of duration.
Use Naosha (Sal Ammoniac) three liang alone, soak in vinegar slurry in a vessel, expose to sun for three days. Medicine adheres to vessel sides, take dried pieces size of millet, place in both eyes at night, no more than three or four times for permanent cure. Combined with Shiyan (Rock Salt) and Shidan (Blue Vitriol) is even better.
*Qianjin Yifang* Treats red eyes with white membrane nebula.
Use Machu (Hemp Candle) one chi, thinly slice pork fat to wrap around, light candle, catch fat with copper vessel. Add Ruiren (Buckthorn Seed) thirty seeds, grind little Fufen (Lead White), mix and cook, place in both eyes at night.

Wash eyes with Gouqi Zhi (Goji Berry Juice), five times daily is good, boiling is also acceptable.
