*Taiping Shenghui Fang* states: The Spleen and Stomach combine as the Foot-Yangming Meridian. Its main channel starts at the nose and circles the lips; its branch enters and connects with the Spleen. If there is heat qi in the Spleen and Stomach, sores develop on the lips. If these sores are further attacked by wind-cold-damp pathogens, mild swelling and damp rot occur, alternating between cold and hot sensations, recurring intermittently over months or years. This is called Jin Chun (Tight Lip), also known as Shen Chun (Deep Lip).
*Qianjin Fang* treats Jin Chun. Wrap white cloth around to make a large wick, place it on an axe blade, ignite the wick until moisture sweats out of the blade, wipe this liquid, and apply it to the lips two to three times daily. Old green cloth is also effective and treats Shen Chun.
