治小儿疝气肿痛，用荔枝核炒焦五钱，大茴香酒炒二钱五分，共为细末。每服一钱，温酒调下。又方，不论
小儿及男妇一切疝气，以及诸般气痛，用荔枝核四十九个炒焦，留白陈皮九钱、生硫黄四钱，共为末，盐水打
面糊为丸绿豆大。遇痛时，空心酒研送九丸，良久，再进一服，不过三服，全安。
小儿肾肿硬痛，橄榄核、荔枝核、山楂核，三件等分，俱烧过存性研末。每服一钱，空心小茴香汤送下。
小儿疝气痛，全蝎不拘多少，炒焦为末。每三分，小茴香煎酒送下。
小儿冷疝作痛，阴囊浮肿。川楝子去核五钱，吴茱萸二钱五分，炒研为末，酒打面糊为丸小豆大。每服十丸，
盐汤化下。
小儿疝久，阴囊坚硬如石，名为木肾。用栝蒌连皮带子二钱，荜茇二钱、生姜二钱、葱白二钱，酒煎，热
服，被覆暖卧，取汗出效。
小儿初生，百日一周之内，神安意静，不妄笑多哭者易养。如日夜啼哭不止，为母者心诚求之，渴则饮之，
饥则哺之，痛则摩之，痒则抓之，其哭止者，中其意也；如哭不止，当以意度之。盖小儿初生，性多执拗，凡有
亲狎之人，玩弄之物，一时不见，其心不悦而哭，谓之拗哭，急与之，勿使怒伤肝气致病也。假如又不止，请医
视之。如大哭昼夜不止者，肝热也，泻青丸；如日夜啼哭，身热烦躁者，心热也，导赤散，俱用灯芯汤服。

小儿肾脏肿胀坚硬疼痛，取橄榄核、荔枝核、山楂核三味药等量分配，均烧存性后研磨成末。每次服用一钱，空腹时用小茴香汤送服。

小儿初生，在百日到一周之内，如果神志安宁、情绪平静，不无故大笑或多哭的，容易抚养。如果日夜啼哭不止，做母亲的应诚心寻找原因：口渴则喂水，饥饿则喂奶，疼痛则抚摸，瘙痒则抓挠，哭声停止说明找到了原因；如果哭声不止，应当用心推测。因为小儿初生，性格多固执倔强，凡是亲近的人或玩耍的物品，一时看不见，心里不高兴而哭，这叫做拗哭，应立即给予满足，不要让他生气损伤肝气导致疾病。假如仍然不止，请医生诊治。如果大哭昼夜不止，属于肝热证，使用泻青丸；如果日夜啼哭，身体发热烦躁，属于心热证，使用导赤散，均用灯芯草汤送服。
For treating pediatric hernia with swelling and pain, use 5 qian of Litchi Seed (Litchis Semen) stir-fried until charred, and 2.5 qian of Anise Fruit (Foeniculi Fructus) stir-fried with wine. Grind both into a fine powder. Take 1 qian each time, mixed with warm wine. Another prescription is suitable for all types of hernia in children, men, and women, as well as various Qi pain syndromes. Use 49 Litchi Seeds (Litchis Semen) stir-fried until charred, 9 qian of White Tangerine Peel (Citri Reticulatae Pericarpium), and 4 qian of Raw Sulfur (Sulfur). Grind them into powder, mix with salt water and wheat flour paste to make pills the size of mung beans. When pain occurs, take 9 pills on an empty stomach dissolved in wine. After some time, take another dose. Usually, within three doses, full recovery is achieved.
For pediatric kidney swelling, hardness, and pain, use equal parts of Olive Pit (Olivae Semen), Litchi Seed (Litchis Semen), and Hawthorn Seed (Crataegi Fructus). Calcine them until they retain their properties, then grind into powder. Take 1 qian each time on an empty stomach, delivered with Small Fennel Decoction (Foeniculi Fructus Decoction).
For pediatric hernia pain, use Scorpion (Scorpio) in any quantity, stir-fried until charred and ground into powder. Take 3 fen each time, delivered with wine decocted with Small Fennel (Foeniculi Fructus).
For pediatric cold hernia causing pain and scrotal edema, use 5 qian of Chinaberry Fruit (Meliae Fructus) with seeds removed, and 2.5 qian of Evodia Fruit (Evodiae Fructus). Stir-fry and grind into powder, mix with wine and wheat flour paste to make pills the size of adzuki beans. Take 10 pills each time, dissolved in salt water.
For long-standing pediatric hernia where the scrotum becomes hard like stone, known as Wood Kidney (testicular induration), use 2 qian of Trichosanthes Fruit (Trichosanthis Fructus) including peel and seeds, 2 qian of Long Pepper Fruit (Piperis Longi Fructus), 2 qian of Fresh Ginger (Zingiberis Rhizoma Recens), and 2 qian of Scallion White (Allii Fistulosi Bulbus). Decoct in wine, take hot, cover with blankets, lie down warmly, and induce sweating for efficacy.
In newborns, within the first week to one hundred days, if the spirit is calm and the mind quiet, without excessive laughing or crying, they are easy to raise. If crying persists day and night, the mother should sincerely seek the cause: give water if thirsty, feed if hungry, massage if painful, scratch if itchy. If crying stops, the cause has been addressed. If crying continues, deduce the cause mentally. Newborns often have stubborn temperaments; if familiar people or toys are absent, they cry out of displeasure, called "Stubborn Crying" (Ao Ku). Provide them immediately to prevent anger from damaging Liver Qi and causing disease. If crying still persists, consult a physician. If crying loudly day and night without cessation, it indicates Liver Heat syndrome; use Xie Qing Wan (Drain the Green Pill). If crying day and night accompanied by fever and irritability, it indicates Heart Heat syndrome; use Dao Chi San (Direct Red Powder). Both are administered with Nymphoides Root Decoction (Nymphoideis Herba Decoction).
