Shi Li (Seasonal Dysentery): Dysentery patients contracting seasonal pathogenic factors present with fever, absence of sweating, and generalized body pain. When heat is constrained by external pathogens causing vomiting, Canglin Tang San (Rice Granary Powder) yields miraculous results.
[Note] Shi Li refers to dysentery occurring concurrently with a seasonal epidemic pathogen. Symptoms include fever, anhidrosis, generalized body ache, and frequent retching due to heat constrained by pathogens. One must use Canglin Tang to dissipate the exterior, first resolving the seasonal pathogen, after which the dysentery will cease spontaneously.
Canglin Tang (Rice Granary Decoction)
Ren Shen (Ginseng Radix et Rhizoma), Fu Ling (Poria), Duhuo (Angelicae Pubescentis Radix), Jiegeng (Platycodonis Radix), Qianhu (Peucedani Radix), Chuanxiong (Ligustici Chuanxiong Rhizoma), Qianghuo (Notopterygii Rhizoma et Radix), Chaihu (Bupleuri Radix), Gancao (Licorice Root et Rhizoma, honey-fried), Zhike (Aurantii Fructus Immaturus, bran-fried), Cangmi (Oryza Sativa Grain).
Add fresh ginger as a guide, decoct in water, and take orally.
[Formula Song] For seasonal dysentery, Canglin Tang is required; Ginseng, Poria, Angelica Pubescens, and Platycodon are excellent. Peucedanum, Ligusticum, and honey-fried Licorice root, along with Aurantium immature fruit, Oryza grain, Bupleurum, and Notopterygium.
Jinkou Li (Anorexic Dysentery): Fire-toxin rushing to the stomach causes Jinkou Li, characterized by a large pulse, high fever, inability to eat, red tongue, red lips, and a preference for cold drinks. Shelian Kailing San (Ginseng and Coptis Anorexia-Opening Powder) works miraculously.
[Note] The syndrome of Jinkou Li is caused by fire-toxin rushing upward to the stomach. Its manifestations include a large pulse, high fever, inability to ingest food, red tongue, red lips, and a strong desire for cold drinks. It requires urgent treatment with Shelian Kailing San.
Shelian Kailing San (Ginseng and Coptis Anorexia-Opening Powder)

Malaria Overview: Malaria arises from wind-cold in autumn following summer-heat injury in summer; the disease forms when Ying (Nutritive) and Wei (Defensive) Qi combine with pathogens. Yin and Yang Qi merge, causing alternating chills and fever; the depth of invasion during daytime attacks is distinct.
[Note] Malaria is mostly caused by summer-heat injury in summer, where the pathogen lodges within Ying Qi. In autumn, exposure to cold wind causes Ying and Wei Qi to combine with pathogens, forming malaria. Alternating chills and fever upon onset result from the merging of Yin and Yang Qi. Daily attacks occur because the pathogen is initially shallow, hiding in Ying Qi and moving along the meridians. Attacks every other day occur because the pathogen has penetrated deeply into the spine and diaphragm area, hiding in the Chong Mai (Penetrating Vessel). Daytime attacks indicate the pathogen is in the shallow layer of the Three Yang meridians; nighttime attacks indicate it is in the deep layer of the Three Yin meridians. As malaria recedes, attacks shift from night to day, and from every other day to daily. This represents the pathogen moving from Yin to Yang, from deep to shallow, indicating the disease is about to resolve. Practitioners must distinguish these patterns carefully.
