Cold pathogenic factors were contracted in winter but did not cause immediate illness. Upon contracting spring wind (spring cold) in spring, the disease manifests as Warm Disease (Wen Bing). The clinical presentation is identical to Cold Damage (Shang Han), and treatment employs a dual-release method; if vomiting occurs, add Shengjiang (Zingiberis Rhizoma Fresh) and Banxia (Pinelliae Rhizoma).
[Note] Warm Disease refers to a condition where cold pathogenic factors are contracted in winter without immediate onset, manifesting upon re-exposure to spring wind in spring. The current symptoms are consistent with those of Cold Damage. Shuangjie Tongsheng Tang (Double-Release Tongsheng Decoction) is used to release both exterior and interior pathogens simultaneously. If vomiting occurs, adding Shengjiang (Zingiberis Rhizoma Fresh) and Banxia (Pinelliae Rhizoma) will stop the vomiting.
Shuangjie Tongsheng Tang (See formulas in Shang Han Lun)
Wind-Warmth (Feng Wen) manifests after re-contracting spring wind. Symptoms include fever, sweating, heavy body sensation, and snoring during sleep. If sweating is scanty, Jingfang Baidu San (Schizonepeta and Saposhnikovia Decoction for Overcoming Toxins) is indicated; if sweating is profuse, Guizhi Tang (Cinnamon Twig Decoction) combined with Baihu Tang (White Tiger Decoction) is prescribed.
[Note] Wind-Warmth results from contracting cold pathogenic factors in winter and subsequently being affected by spring wind. Symptoms present as heavy body sensation, lethargic sleep, fever, and spontaneous sweating. For patients with scanty sweating, Jingfang Baidu San is used to release the exterior; for those with profuse sweating, Guizhi Tang (Cinnamon Twig Decoction) is combined with Baihu Tang (White Tiger Decoction) to clear heat and release the exterior.

Cold pathogenic factors were contracted in winter without immediate illness. Upon contracting summerheat-pathogen in summer, the disease forms. The body does not exhibit aversion to cold but presents with excessive thirst. The clinical presentation is similar to Warm Disease, and the treatment method is also the same.
[Note] Heat Disease (Re Bing) refers to a condition where cold pathogenic factors are contracted in winter without immediate onset, manifesting upon re-exposure to summerheat-pathogen in summer, hence named Heat Disease. The current symptoms are similar to Warm Disease, differing only slightly in the absence of aversion to cold and the presence of dry mouth and thirst. The treatment method is the same as that for Warm Disease.
