典藏书目

Chen (27 years old): Essence and blood are depleted, leading to flaccidity of the lower limbs.
Ren Shen (Ginseng Radix), Fu Ling (Poria), Da Hui Xiang (Foeniculum Vulgare Fruit), Dang Gui (Angelicae Sinensis Radix), Suo Yang (Cynomorii Folii), Jing Yang Rou (Lamb Meat).

Gong (Wuxi, 63 years old): The elderly person has a fondness for consuming crab and shellfish; the salty and cold nature damages the blood, causing bleeding in both upper and lower parts. It is necessary to regulate and warm the Middle Jiao (Middle Burner/Spleen-Stomach).

Yang (Wuxi, 31 years old): Hypochondriac pain with blood loss; use soft and moistening agents to relieve the urgency of the Liver.
Chao Tao Ren (Processed Peach Seed), Chao Dan Pi (Processed Moutan Cortex), Gui Wei (Dang Gui Tail), Bai Zi Ren (Biota Seed), Gou Teng (Uncaria Rhynchophylla).

Du (Fengyang, 38 years old): After malaria, Spleen Qi is weak; Liver Qi overacts on the Middle Qi causing stagnation, leading to irritability and anger.
Sheng Yi Zhi Ren (Raw Alpinia Oxyphylla Fruit), Tan Xiang Mu (Sandalwood Powder), Fu Ling Kuai (Poria Cube), Xin Hui Pi (Xinhui Tangerine Peel), Zhi Shi Pi (Immature Bitter Orange Peel).
Grind into powder, and form pills using water as a binder.

Wang (Huizhou, 35 years old): Zhang Zhongjing stated: "In Jueyin disease, Qi rushes upward striking the Heart." This clearly indicates that Wood pathogenic wind-fire ascends due to deficiency of blood and Yin. (The belief that this is caused by excess phlegm-fire in epilepsy) is a great fallacy.
Nu Zhen Zi (Ligustrum Lucidum Fruit), Fu Shen (Poria with Hostwood), Yu Rou (Cornus Officinalis Fruit), Tian Dong (Asparagus Cochinchinensis Root), Jian Lian (Nelumbo Nucifera Seed), Chi Jin Bo (Gold Leaf).
The explanation of the mechanism behind "Qi rushing upward striking the Heart" is clear and explicit.

Qian (Huai'an, 22 years old): Using Lu Jiang Yin (Dew Ginger Decoction) to stop malaria is a method of benefiting Middle Qi to dispel pathogens; this applies to treating deficient patients generally. If the Spleen and Stomach have not yet awakened, avoid fishy, alcoholic, and turbid flavors.
Da Ban Xia (Large Pinellia Tuber) added with Ju Hong (Tangerine Red Pericarp) and Yi Zhi (Alpinia Oxyphylla Fruit), formed into pills with Ginger Juice.

Tang (Xumen, 56 years old): A wine drinker suffers from chronic loose stools. Secular views attribute this to dampness accumulation damaging the Spleen and Kidney, believing that Spleen disease entering the Kidney means chronic diarrhea and dysentery constitute Kidney disease. For treating blood loss, seven or eight out of ten cases use nourishing Yin and cooling descending methods, mostly because young people suffer from Yin deficiency with flaming fire. If middle-aged individuals suffer from accumulated fatigue leading to panting when walking, and anal prolapse with heaviness after standing for a long time, the appropriate treatment lies in grasping the Kidney and consolidating reception (Observation of symptoms is meticulous and refined, seeking further refinement. Generally, what young people worry about is Yin deficiency, while what the elderly worry about is Yang deficiency). Li Zhong Tang (Regulate the Middle Decoction) can deplete Stomach fluids but can stop upper and lower bleeding. Wang Sun'an's methods show immediate efficacy; they are not fabricated. The reason for ineffectiveness is that Kidney deficiency dislikes dryness (Use sour flavors to consolidate and receive, combined with sour-sweet methods to transform Yin).
Ren Shen (Ginseng Radix), Yu Rou (Cornus Officinalis Fruit), Fu Ling (Poria), Shi Lian Zi (Stone Lotus Seed), Mu Gua (Chaenomelis Fructus), Zhi Cao (Honey-fried Licorice Root), Wu Wei Zi (Schisandra Berry).
Shen Qi Wan (Kidney Qi Pill) represents the True Yang of the congenital foundation, governing the consolidation of the Yuan Qi of the whole body. When Kidney Qi is sufficient, it neither rebels upward nor sinks downward with heaviness. Once scattered, both upper and lower aspects lose control; rebellious Qi brings the risk of coughing and wheezing, and bowel/bladder movements often feel like they are about to escape. Those who preserve truth (vitality) avoid this.

Luo (23 years old): In his prime, he describes night sweats in winter and hemoptysis in spring. Appetite is good, but there is weakness and inability to move. There is only throat itching triggering coughs. This is Yin deficiency with Dragon Fire (Ministerial Fire) scorching upwards. Propose using Hu Qian Wan (Tiger Crouching Pill), removing Niu Xi (Achyranthes Root) and Dang Gui (Angelicae Sinensis Radix), adding Wu Wei Zi (Schisandra Berry), Shuang Dong (Tian Dong and Mai Dong).

Shen (Kunshan, 61 years old): The elderly person presents with aversion to cold, flaccidity of legs, and coughing with phlegm. In men, the Lower Yuan (Liver and Kidney) declines first; True Yin lacks support, and the Five Fluids condense into phlegm. If emotions become violently angry, internal wind suddenly arises, leading to the burden of stroke (Fei syndrome). Abstain from alcohol and labor; strive for self-joy and nurturing. Strengthen the Lower Jiao to clear the Upper Jiao (Strengthening the Lower prevents turbid Yin from ascending; the Five Fluids gradually transform into essence and subtle nutrients, so the residence of Spirit remains clear and unmuddled by turbidity).
Shu Di Huang (Prepared Rehmannia Root), Yu Rou (Cornus Officinalis Fruit), Cong Rong (Cistanche Stem), Chuan Hu (Dendrobium Nobile Stem), Rong Yan (Sea Salt), Niu Xi (Achyranthes Root), Gou Qi (Goji Berry), Lu Jin Jiao (Deer Tendon Gelatin).

Ren (Shanxi, 30 years old): Hemoptysis in summer, frequent recurrence from late autumn to winter. Right pulse is wiry and excess; Left pulse is soggy and deficient. This indicates simultaneous physical and mental exhaustion, collateral blood failing to remain tranquil. Business endeavors consume energy, and Qi and Blood fail to regenerate youthful vigor.
