得柴胡，治腹痛。配大黄，消痈肿。配鳖甲，消胁积。和贝母，消痰结。合花粉，消瘿瘤，
并治伤寒百合变渴。同干姜

涂阴囊水肿。（热如火，若干燥再涂之，小便利自愈。）
研。久服寒中。
制石亭脂、硫黄。
甘、咸、冷。止渴除热。解酒毒，去赤眼。多食发风动气。
壳粉
咸，寒。清热行湿。得青黛、齑菜水，治痰饮咳嗽。配米醋，调涂痈疽赤肿。
甘、咸、冷。去热利便，除湿开胃。生捣汁，涂疔疮。多食发嗽，且使冷气消肾。
壳
咸，温。治阴疮，止痢疾，疗失精，化痰饮，止呕吐，除吞酸。
咸味，性寒，有小毒。能够解除鳝鱼中毒，治疗筋骨骨折损伤。（将带有蟹黄的螃蟹去掉外壳捣烂，轻微炒制。）用蟹黄涂抹漆疮，即刻痊愈。（因为螃蟹能将漆化解为水。）蟹壳用于治疗产后瘀血引起的腹痛（儿枕痛）。蟹爪能破除陈旧瘀血，促使死胎排出。

与甘草、牛膝、远志、蛇床子配伍效果良好。以贝母为使药。畏忌麻黄、吴茱萸、辛夷。能被砂压制。
咸味，性平，微寒，味涩。入足少阴肾经的血分。主治遗精、白带过多，驱逐虚痰和陈旧瘀血，消除梦中性交，治疗温疟，止住遗尿，消散喉痹。收敛往来潮热，消除胸膈胀满。凡是肝虚导致阳气升腾至头顶的情况，得到此药即可使其下降，阳气自然回归。配合杜仲，可止盗汗。（加入麻黄根效果更好。）配合玄参，可治疗男女瘰疬。配合柴胡，可治疗腹痛。配伍大黄，可消散痈肿。配伍鳖甲，可消散胁下积聚。与贝母同用，可消散痰结。合用天花粉，可消散瘿瘤，并治疗伤寒百合病转化而成的口渴症。同干姜末一起，用水调匀，涂抹于阴囊水肿处。（若局部发热如火，待干燥后再涂，小便通畅后自愈。）研碎服用。长期服用会损伤中焦脾胃之阳。

蟹壳粉
咸味，性寒。清热利湿。配合青黛、芥菜汁，治疗痰饮咳嗽。配伍米醋，调和后涂抹治疗痈疽红肿。
甘味、咸味，性冷。清热利尿，除湿开胃。生捣取汁，涂抹治疗疔疮。多吃会引发咳嗽，且会使冷气消耗肾气。
蟹壳
咸味，性温。治疗阴部疮疡，止住痢疾，治疗失精，化痰饮，止住呕吐，消除吞酸。
咸味，性寒。入足厥阴肝经。安心定志，使耳聪目明。治疗遗精，解痘毒。
选取未经钻孔串连的新珍珠粉末，用人乳浸泡三天，煮后捣碎研磨使用。
Salty, cold, slightly toxic. Capable of resolving eel fish toxicity and treating bone fractures and soft tissue injuries. (Crabs with roe are shelled, mashed, and lightly stir-fried.) Applying crab roe to lacquer dermatitis results in immediate healing. (Crabs can dissolve lacquer into water.) Crab shells treat postpartum abdominal pain caused by blood stasis (Zhenzhen Tong). Crab claws break up old blood stasis and expel dead fetus.

It pairs well with Glycyrrhizae Radix et Rhizoma (Gancao), Achyranthis Bidentatae Radix (Niuxi), Polygalae Radix (Yuanzhi), and Cnidii Fructus (Shechuangzi). Fritillariae Bulbus (Beimu) acts as an ushering herb. It is incompatible with Ephedrae Herba (Mahuang), Evodiae Fructus (Wuzhuyu), and Xanthii Fructus (Xinyi). Its efficacy is subdued by sand.
Salty, neutral, slightly cold, astringent. Enters the Blood aspect of the Foot-Shaoyin Kidney Meridian. It primarily treats spermatorrhea and leukorrhea, drives out deficiency phlegm and old blood stasis, eliminates nocturnal emission during sleep, treats warm malaria, stops enuresis, and dissipates throat bi-syndrome. It arrests alternating tidal fever and reduces chest and diaphragm fullness. In cases where Liver deficiency causes Yang Qi to ascend to the vertex, this herb lowers it, allowing Yang to return naturally. Combined with Eucommiae Cortex (Duzhong), it stops night sweats. (Adding Ephedrae Caulis Cum Folio Root (Mahuanggen) yields better results.) Combined with Scrophulariae Radix (Xuanshen), it treats scrofula (Luoli) in both men and women. Combined with Bupleuri Radix (Chaihu), it treats abdominal pain. Paired with Rhei Radix et Rhizoma (Dahuang), it dissipates carbuncles and swellings. Paired with Testudinis Carapax et Plastrum (Biejia), it dissipates hypochondriac accumulations. Harmonized with Fritillariae Bulbus (Beimu), it dissipates phlegm nodules. Combined with Trichosanthis Radix (Huafen), it dissipates goiter and tumors, and also treats thirst resulting from the transformation of Baihe disease in Shanghan. Mixed with dried ginger powder and mixed with water for topical application on scrotal edema. (If the area feels hot like fire, reapply after drying; self-healing occurs when urination becomes smooth.) Grind for use. Long-term consumption damages the Middle Jiao Spleen Yang.
Processed with Shitingzhi (Alumen) and Sulfur.
Sweet, salty, cold. Stops thirst and removes heat. Resolves alcohol toxicity and clears red eyes. Excessive consumption induces wind and disturbs Qi.
Crab shell powder
Salty, cold. Clears heat and promotes dampness drainage. Combined with Indigo Naturalis (Qingdai) and mustard green juice, it treats cough due to phlegm-fluid retention. Paired with rice vinegar, mixed and applied topically for carbuncles, sores, redness, and swelling.
Sweet, salty, cold. Removes heat and promotes urination, dispels dampness and opens the stomach. Freshly mashed juice is applied topically for ding sores. Excessive consumption induces cough and allows cold qi to consume Kidney essence.
Crab shell
Salty, warm. Treats yin ulcers, stops dysentery, cures spermatorrhea, transforms phlegm-fluid, stops vomiting, and eliminates acid regurgitation.
Salty, cold. Enters the Foot-Jueyin Liver Meridian. Calms the mind and stabilizes the spirit, sharpens hearing and vision. Treats spermatorrhea and resolves measles toxin.
Select fresh pearl powder that has not been drilled or strung. Soak in human milk for three days, then boil, mash, and grind for use.
