Infantile Convulsion in Newborns: When a newborn presents with convulsions and is near death, grind cinnabar (Zhusha) and mix it with fresh well water. Apply the mixture to the palms of the hands and soles of the feet; the condition will be cured. (From *Doumen Fang*)
Fetal Convulsion within One Month: For infants within one month of age suffering from fetal convulsion, mix a small amount of sow's milk with cinnabar (Zhusha) and cow's milk. Apply this mixture to the infant's mouth; it is very effective. (From *Bencao Faming*)
Convulsion Resembling Stroke within One Month: For convulsions occurring within the first month that resemble stroke, grind cinnabar (Zhusha) into powder, mix with water, and apply to five locations: the center of the chest, both palms, and both soles. The condition will be cured. (From *Chuanjiabao*)
Sudden Shock: The infant appears to have pain but cannot express it. Bathe the infant in a decoction made from excrement found in swallow nests. (From *Tan Shi Youke*)
Acute Convulsion: Caused by phlegm confusing the orifices of the heart, leading to loss of consciousness. Grind veratrum root (Liluugen), pig's tooth soap pod (Zhuyazaojiao) (each 3 qian), and musk (Shexiang) (5 fen) into a fine powder. Blow a small amount of this powder into the nose to induce sneezing, which opens the qi mechanism and restores consciousness. (From *Youyou Ji*)
Another Method: On the index finger of the child (left for males, right for females), locate the bluish-purple vein at the first joint near the thenar eminence (tiger's mouth). Puncture it with a needle, squeeze out the blood, and the condition will be cured. (From *Duanju Fang*)
Acute Convulsion Resembling Pain: Drip blood from a rooster's comb into the infant's mouth; the condition will be cured. (From *Yiliang Li Shi Kan Fang*)

Crow Convulsion: If the infant cries out loudly once and then dies, it is called Crow Convulsion. Wrap the flanks, palms, and soles with loose hemp, and apply heat using an exploding lamp wick. Dry crow garlic (Laoya Suan) and plantago seeds (Cheqianzi) in equal parts, grind into powder, mix with water, and apply to the palms. Additionally, rub the palms, soles, shoulders, glabella, and nasal tip with rush pith (Dengxin); the infant will regain consciousness. (From *Wang Rixin Xiao'er Fang*)
Tian Diao Convulsion: Characterized by eyes fixed upward for a long time, sclera visible, opisthotonos (body arched backward like a bow), and inability to vocalize. Take one large centipede (remove head and feet), roast in butter. Split open with a bamboo knife, marking left and right sides. Divide musk (Shexiang) (1 qian) into left and right portions, mark them, and grind into powder. Use the left portion to blow into the left nostril, and the right portion into the right nostril, each in small amounts, not too much. If the eyes do not lower, blow a little more; stop once the eyes lower. (From *Zhizhi Fang*)
Wu Sha Convulsion: In pediatric convulsion where the whole body turns dark/black, urgently massage downwards. Take one bowl of yellow mud, grind into powder, add one cup of aged vinegar, stir-fry until hot, wrap in cloth, and apply as a compress to guide the pathogen down to the feet. Piercing the skin is considered optimal. (From *Bianyi Liangfang*)
Stopping Tremors in Convulsion: Take one mantis, one lizard/scorpion (Xixie), and one red-footed centipede. Split each in half, grind separately according to left/right sides, and mark them. Use the left side for males and the right side for females. Blow a "one-character" amount into the nose. During tremors, blowing into the left stops left-sided tremors, and blowing into the right stops right-sided tremors. (From *Puji Fang*)
Evil of Shock: Burn a piece of benzoin resin (Anxi Xiang) the size of a bean; the evil will depart naturally. (From *Qixiao Mi*)
Startling/Running Spirit: If the infant looks only at the ground and cannot look up, burn soap pod (Zaojiao) to ash, soak in children's urine, scrape off impurities from firewood/bamboo, dry over fire, grind into powder, and apply to the anterior fontanelle; the infant will regain consciousness. (From *Wang Shi Xiao'er Fang*)
Convulsive Epilepsy: Bathe the infant in a decoction of swallow droppings. Alternatively, boil a large honeycomb and bathe the infant; this is also excellent. (From *Bixiao Bian*)
Convulsive Epilepsy with Fever: Mix indigo plant material (Ganlan) and calcined gypsum (Ningshuishi) in equal parts, grind into powder, mix with water, and apply to the head. (From *Shenghui Fang*)
Crying due to Shock: Mix white jade (Baiyu) (2.5 qian) and cold water stone (Hanshuishi) (5 qian), grind into powder, mix with water, and apply below the heart area. (Same source)
All Kinds of Convulsions:
For those falling backward: Moxibustion or light-moxa on the anterior fontanelle, between the eyebrows, and above/below the umbilicus.
For those with eyes turned up and unable to look down: Moxibustion above and below the umbilicus.
For those unconscious: Moxibustion on the palms, soles, and above/below the heart.
For those with clenched fists and upturned mouth: Moxibustion on the vertex (top of head) and palms.
For those with puckered mouth and foaming at the mouth: Moxibustion around the mouth, palms, and soles. (From *Jingfeng Jiyuan*)
Tan Sheng San (Probe Life Powder): For infants with acute or chronic convulsions unresponsive to other drugs, blow this powder to probe life status. Mix realgar (Xionghuang), myrrh (Moyao) (each 1 qian), frankincense (Ruxiang) (5 fen), and musk (Shexiang) (2.5 fen) into a fine powder. Blow a small amount into the nose. If tears and nasal discharge appear, the condition is treatable. (From *Gujin Yijian*)
Moxibustion Method (Highly Effective for Acute and Chronic Convulsions):
Moxibustion at Baihui GV20 (located at the center of the top of the head): 5 moxa cones are most effective.
Moxibustion at the center of the eyebrows: 5-7 moxa cones. It is necessary to ensure the smoke enters the throat and produces sound; the condition will be cured.
Moxibustion between the coccyx and the anus (one finger width below the tailbone): 1 moxa cone to produce throat sound; 3 moxa cones lead to immediate cure.
Moxibustion on both sides of the nasal bridge, specifically in the depressions seen during crying or laughing: Mark these points with a pen, then moxa 3-5 cones on both sides. The moxa cones should be the size of mung beans. (From *Jingyan Guangji*)
