Xia Yingbai stated: The little finger belongs to the Kidney. Pinching it towards the palm, and then pinching the transverse crease at the junction of the child's little finger and palm, treats red and scanty urine (red and astringent urination) and abdominal distension. Pushing upwards along the left Kidney meridian clears the urine; pushing downwards tonifies the Kidney.
Xia Yingbai stated: Hengmen acupoint refers to the transverse crease at the junction of the palm and the forearm (humerus). Banmen acupoint is located five fen below the first phalanx of the thumb. Pushing from Hengmen to Banmen can stop infant vomiting.
Xia Yingbai stated: Pushing from Banmen to Hengmen can stop infant diarrhea.
Xia Yingbai stated: Pushing from the tip of the middle finger to Hengmen can stop infant vomiting.
Xia Yingbai stated: Scraping from Hengmen to the tip of the middle finger and pinching it can induce vomiting in infants.
Xia Yingbai stated: Pinching at the child's Hengmen acupoint treats rattling phlegm in the throat.
Xia Yingbai stated: Rubbing the child's Banmen acupoint treats qi attacking, asthma, qi pain, vomiting, and abdominal distension.
Xia Yingbai stated: Holding the child's elbow joint with the left hand and holding the child's little finger with the right hand to shake it, resembling the motion of a wagging tail, can relieve constipation in children. Since the little finger belongs to Kidney Water and its color is black, this method is named "Black Dragon Wagging Tail".
Xia Yingbai stated: Holding the child's elbow joint with the left hand and holding the child's middle finger with the right hand to shake it harmonizes blood and tonifies the Heart. Since the middle finger belongs to the Heart and the Heart's color is red, this method is named "Red Phoenix Shaking Head".
Xia Yingbai stated: One hand pinches Neilaogong (Inner Laogong), and the other hand pinches the Heart meridian at the tip of the child's middle finger to treat Wind syndrome. Tu Weisheng said: The character "Wind" in this section was originally "Startle" in the text. Because this condition mostly arises from fire-heat generating wind, it was changed to "Wind".
Xia Yingbai stated: Wu Jing Wen (Five Meridian Lines) refer to the lines below the second phalanges of the five fingers. Rubbing back and forth on the child's Wu Jing Wen with the thumb treats disharmony of Qi and Blood, abdominal distension, twitching and pulling of the four limbs, alternating chills and fever, dispels Wind, and removes abdominal rumbling.
Xia Yingbai stated: Si Heng Wen (Four Transverse Creases) refer to the transverse creases at the junction of the third phalanges of the index, middle, ring, and little fingers with the palm. Rubbing back and forth on the child's Si Heng Wen with the thumb harmonizes Qi and Blood, treating emaciation, loss of appetite, twitching of hands and feet, head tilting to one side, warmth of the intestines and stomach, eyes rolling up showing the whites, rapid breathing, and abdominal pain.
