Xia Yingbai said: Begin pinching from Li Palace (Li Gong) and continue until Gan Palace (Gan Gong). Pinch lightly in the middle section and heavily at both ends. This method resolves phlegm and treats cough, coma, and vomiting.
Xia Yingbai said: Push upwards along the lateral side of the Spleen Meridian at the tip of the child's thumb, passing through the left side of the forearm surface, reaching approximately two-thirds down the lower segment of the forearm. Turn to the right side, pass through the palm, and stop back at the tip of the child's thumb. This treats yellow edema and deficiency-type distension.
Xia Yingbai said: The Qi Guan point is located on the second segment of the anterior aspect of the index finger. Rubbing this area promotes the movement of Qi and unblocks orifices.
Xia Yingbai said: Use both thumbs to rub the dorsal aspect of the child's hand and forearm several times. Then grasp the child's palm and gently and slowly rotate it to soothe Qi and resolve phlegm.
Xia Yingbai said: One hand pinches the bone at the root of the child's thumb, while the other hand pinches the Spleen Meridian at the tip of the child's thumb. This eliminates food stagnation and treats mass formations (Pi Kuai).
Xia Yingbai said: First pinch Zongjin (Zongjin), then perform Qing Tianhe Shui (Clearing the Heavenly River Water). The practitioner bends all four fingers, then uses the protruding bones of the second and third segments of the dorsal aspect of the middle finger. Pour newly drawn cool water onto the child's palm, then rotate clockwise around Laogong (Laogong, PC8). While doing so, the practitioner blows air onto the area, pushing and blowing simultaneously. This method produces a strong cooling sensation and is most effective for treating various heat syndromes.
Xia Yingbai said: One hand supports and rotates the child's elbow joint, while the other hand grasps and shakes the child's hand. For males, use the left side; for females, use the right side. This treats pediatric mass formations (Pi Kuai).
Xia Yingbai said: This acupoint is located on the dorsal aspect of the hand, on either side of the tiger's mouth where round bones meet. In cases of sudden infant death or acute collapse, pinch this acupoint. If the child cries, it is treatable; if silent, it is difficult to treat.
Tu Weisheng said: This section corresponds to Hegu (Hegu, LI4) as described in *Zhenjiu Dacheng* (Great Treatise on Acupuncture and Moxibustion), named so because two bones intersect there. Xia Yingbai followed the tuina methods of former sages, referring to this point as Weilings (Weiling), hence also named Weilings. However, it is ultimately not as easy to identify and remember as Hegu.
Xia Yingbai said: This acupoint is located on the dorsal aspect of the hand, half a cun above the interspace between the ring finger and little finger. Pinching this point treats phlegmatic wheezing, gasping, dry retching, and abdominal masses.
Tu Weisheng said: This acupoint corresponds to Yemen (Yemen, SJ6) as described in *Zhenjiu Dacheng*, belonging to the Hand-Shaoyang Sanjiao Meridian. Xia Yingbai likely followed the tuina methods of former sages, thus naming it Xiangdao (Xiangdao).
