Chen Feixia stated: The whole-body lamp-fire therapy for infants is indeed the most rapid and effective method in pediatrics, possessing the merit of bringing back the dead to life. There are sixty-four fire points in total, conforming to the numerology of the *Yinfu Jing* (Classic of the Dark Talisman), capable of dispersing wind and releasing the exterior, promoting qi circulation and resolving phlegm, relieving depression and opening the chest, awakening consciousness and stopping convulsions. For all kinds of critical and dangerous conditions, once the fire therapy is applied correctly, the disease will be eliminated. When applying the fire therapy, if it happens to be in winter, one must burn an open flame in the room to prevent the infant from catching cold. The rush (Jiedicao) should be of moderate size and ignited with sesame oil. An experienced woman should hold the infant, undress them, remove their hat, and start from the Juesun (SJ17) acupoint at the left ear horn, strictly following the subsequent verse for application. However, when using fire, one must not hesitate or show mercy; do not claim that there are too many burns out of pity for the child's discomfort. This is because infants fall ill due to stagnation in their meridians and discomfort in their zang-fu organs. Using fire to disperse this stagnation aims to make the child cry loudly, thereby allowing the organ qi to circulate freely, causing sweating throughout the body, and ensuring the smooth flow of Ying (Nutritive) and Wei (Defensive) qi, leading to immediate results. This fire method secretly corresponds to the circulation of the Microcosmic Orbit (Zhou Tian); the number of burns cannot be reduced, otherwise it will be ineffective. If treating umbilical tetanus (Umbilical Wind), this method is indispensable; the specific procedures are listed below.
Chen Feixia stated: The natural principles of the immortal-transmitted divine fire begin at the Juesun (SJ17) meridian. (Whenever using lamp-fire, regardless of whether the infant is male or female, always start from the left side. Juesun is located above the tip of the ear, and the meridian is at the root behind the ear.) Tinggong (SI19), Qubin (GB7), and Benshen (EX-HN4) are nearby, followed by taking Tianrong (SI17) on the right. (Tinggong is anterior to the ear, Qubin is beside the temple hairline, Benshen is at the frontal angle, and Tianrong is below the root of the auricle. After completing the left side, proceed similarly on the right.) Xinhui (DU23), Chengjiang (CV24), and Left Jianjing (GB21); Quchi (LI11) and Hegu (LI4) can resolve various evils. (Xinhui refers to the fontanelle; Chengjiang is in the depression below the lower lip; Jianjing is in the depression on the shoulder. Starting from the left, hence "Left Jianjing." Quchi is at the lateral end of the cubital crease when the elbow is flexed; Hegu is in the web between the first and second metacarpal bones.) After passing the Qi Guan point on the finger, reach Shenmen (HT7); the right side is similar, and coma can be awakened. (Qi Guan is on the second phalanx of the index finger; Shenmen is at the distal end of the ulnar styloid process on the medial aspect of the wrist. After completing the left, proceed similarly on the right.) On the right side, starting from seven moxa cones below Rugen (ST18); the right side is also like this, why wait for teeth? (Starting from below the left Rugen, go from top to bottom for seven cones. Below the right Rugen is the same.) Yinjiao (CV7) below the navel continues to Xingming Guan (Life-saving Pass); three flat cones stop the critical danger. (Yinjiao is half a cun below the umbilicus; apply three cones.) Jizhong (DU12), Shenzhu (DU12), down to Changqiang (DU1), Feishu (BL13), Yanglingquan (GB34), and Chengshan (BL57) are appropriate. (Shenzhu is below the third thoracic vertebra; count from top to bottom for nine cones. Feishu is in the gap between the medial borders of the scapulae; Yanglingquan is three cun below the lateral condyle of the knee; Chengshan is at the apex of the calf muscle.) Kunlun (BL60), Jiexi (ST41), and Qiuxu (GB40) acupoints; Yongquan (KI1) on the right also yields good effects. (Kunlun is posterior to the lateral malleolus; Jiexi is where shoelaces are tied; Qiuxu is anterior to the lateral malleolus; Yongquan is in the center of the sole. After completing the left foot, proceed similarly on the right.)
Tu Weisheng stated: This section by Feixia is named "Alien Transmission" (Yi Shou). It is unknown if it is truly an alien transmission or has other intentions. Although there are many fire acupoints, they can occasionally be used when the condition is critical, as fire attack can substitute for medicines to unblock and dredge the zang-fu organs. However, there are numerous acupoints in the human body, and without direct instruction from a master, it is difficult to grasp the true essence. Since ancient diagrams have errors and this diagram is also blurry, I deleted the diagrams but supplemented the annotations, not to ignore them, but because such acupoints cannot fully reveal their intricate details through simple illustrations alone. Research indicates that Hegu (LI4) is located between the intersection of the bone at the base of the thumb and the bone of the index finger. Quchi (LI11) must be taken with the arm bent; it is located in the depression at the head of the cubital crease, lateral to the radial collateral ligament. Rugen (ST18) is governed by the Stomach Meridian of Foot-Yangming; measuring one cun six fen downward from the center of the nipple locates the Rugen acupoint. The rest are spaced one cun apart vertically. Thus, his annotation states: "From top to bottom, seven cones." However, the measurement method requires using the middle joint of the patient's own middle finger, specifically the distance between the two transverse creases on the palmar side, which equals one cun. Shenzhu (DU12) is the third vertebra of the dorsal spine; it must be calculated horizontally from both shoulders. From Shenzhu downwards: the fifth vertebra is Shentong (EX-B2), the sixth is Lingtai (EX-B6), the seventh is Zhiyang (DU9), the ninth is Jinsuo (DU8), the eleventh is Jizhong (DU11), the thirtieth is Xuanshu (DU15), the fourteenth is Mingmen (DU4), the sixteenth is Yangguan (EX-B7), the twenty-first is Yaoshu (BL23), and the end of the sacrum/coccyx is Changqiang (DU1). There are no other acupoints there. Besides Shenzhu and Changqiang, there are nine other acupoints mentioned as nine cones, likely excluding Shenzhu and Changqiang. Feishu (BL13) must also be calculated from the spine; it is located 1.5 cun lateral to both sides of the third thoracic vertebra.
