(Applied to: Mandibular Dislocation)
[Scabies and Sores on Head and Face] Crush fresh Ginkgo Nut (Bai Guo Ren, 白果仁), cut it, and frequently rub the affected area for immediate effect. For chronic cases, use Powder of Phellodendri Cortex (Huang Bai Mo, 黄柏末), Lead Monoxide (Huang Dan, 黄丹), and Smoke Glue (Yan Jiao, 烟胶) in equal parts, ground together into fine powder. Mix with Sesame Oil (Xiang You, 香油) and apply topically.
[Sudden Sores on Face] Grind Almond (Xing Ren, 杏仁) into fine powder. Mix with Egg White (Ji Zi Qing, 鸡子清) to form a paste similar to pancake batter. Apply at night after washing the face, and wash off the next morning. Repeat dozens of times for efficacy. If small boils appear, use Raw Pinellia Rhizome (Sheng Ban Xia, 生半夏), Wheat Flour (Mian, 面), and Salt (Shi Yan, 食盐) in equal parts, finely ground together. Mix with Vinegar (Cu, 醋) and apply.
[Scratched Facial Epidermis] Mix Ginger Juice (Sheng Jiang Zi Ran Zhi, 生姜自然汁) with Calomel (Qing Fen, 轻粉) and apply. This prevents scarring.
[Red Sores on Cheekbones] Initially appearing as fine spots, they eventually cluster. Use Equal Parts of Peucedani Radix (Bai Lian, 白蔹) and Angelicae Dahuricae Radix (Bai Zhi, 白芷), stir-fried and ground into powder while retaining their medicinal properties. Melt Candle Oil (Gai Zhu You, 盖烛油) and Beeswax (Huang La, 黄蜡) with the powder, mix uniformly, and apply to reduce swelling.
[Freckles on Face] Mix Eagle Droppings (Ying Fen, 鹰粪) with water and apply. This also treats scar tissue. Mix Cherry Branch (Ying Tao Zhi, 樱桃枝), Spirodela Polyrrhiza (Zi Bei Fu Ping, 紫背浮萍), Dried Plum Flesh (Bai Mei Rou, 白梅肉), and Soap Bean (Ya Zao, 牙皂) in equal parts. Dry by baking, grind into powder, and rub onto the face with water during washing to gradually fade freckles. Green Mung Bean (Lu Dou, 绿豆) (8 liang, freshly ground fine), Angelicae Dahuricae Radix (Bai Zhi, 白兹), Paecilomyces Militaris (Bai Jiang Can, 白僵蚕) (2 liang each), Saposhnikoviae Radix (Fang Feng, 防风).
[White Scales on Whole Body, Itchy Skin] If black spots like mustard seeds appear on the face, burn Deer Antler (Lu Jiao, 鹿角) to ash, mix with Pig Fat (Zhu You, 猪油), and apply. Black Morning Glory Seed (Hei Qian Niu, 黑牵牛) (ground fine), mixed with Egg White (Ji Zi Qing, 鸡子清), applied at night and washed off in the morning, is effective.
[Lung Wind Sores on Face] Grind Deer Antler Tip (Lu Jiao Jian, 鹿角尖) thickly with Ash-free Wine (Wu Hui Jiu, 无灰酒). Apply frequently to reduce lesions.
[Mumps/Swollen Cheeks] Apply Indigo Flower Paste (Dian Lan Hua, 靛青花) to dissipate swelling. If unavailable, use Rhubarb (Da Huang, 大黄) (freshly ground fine), mixed with Scallion Juice (Cong Zhi, 葱汁) for immediate dissipation. Red Adzuki Bean (Chi Xiao Dou, 赤小豆) powder mixed with Rice Vinegar (Mi Cu, 米醋) and applied, kept moist with vinegar, will dissipate swelling.
[Red Swelling of Both Cheeks] One Lily Bulb (Bai He, 百合), Root of Mallotus Japonicus (Shan Zha Ma Gen, 山芝麻根) (peeled), Fritillariae Bulbus (Bei Mu, 贝母), Mirabilite (Yuan Ming Fen, 元明粉) (1 qian each), Vermilion (Yin Zhu, 银朱) (0.7 qian). Mix with Wheat Flour (Bai Mian, 白面) and apply. Hold a dried plum (Wu Mei, 乌梅) in the mouth near the cheek; after some time, expectoration occurs and swelling subsides.
[Mandibular Dislocation] Caused by deficiency and damage to Kidney and Lung, insufficient Yuan Shen (Primordial Spirit), or forgetting fatigue due to excessive laughter and conversation, leading to a temporary inability of Yuan Qi (Primordial Qi) to connect. The patient should sit upright. An assistant supports the chin with both hands and pushes it upward and backward to reset the joint. Immediately secure the chin with a silk strip tied to the top of the head, or have the patient hold a dried plum (Wu Mei, 乌梅) in the mouth to aid reduction. Alternatively, apply Pinellia Tuber (Nan Xing, 南星) powder mixed with Ginger Juice (Jiang Zhi, 姜汁) to both cheeks; reduction occurs overnight. Avoid wind. For patients with deficiency, administer decoctions promptly to prevent external wind invasion, which could lead to phlegm obstruction, facial paralysis (mouth and eye deviation), and wind-stroke affecting the zang-fu organs, a condition rarely curable. Prepared Aconite Root (Zhi Fu Zi, 制附子) (6 fen), Silkworm (Jiang Can, 僵蚕) (wine-fried), Angelica Sinensis (Dang Gui, 当归) (2 qian each), Ginseng (Ren Shen, 人参), Prepared Pinellia Rhizome (Zhi Ban Xia, 制半夏), Poria (Fu Ling, 茯苓) (1.5 qian each), Tangerine Peel (Chen Pi, 陈皮) (1 qian), Roasted Licorice Root (Zhi Gan Cao, 炙甘草) (3 fen), Szechwan Lovage Root (Chuan Xiong, 川芎)...
