Taste is sweet, nature is neutral, non-toxic. It primarily treats dead skin and muscle tissue, wind-stroke with alternating cold and heat, symptoms resembling motion sickness in vehicles or boats; it expels evil qi, calms the five zang organs, benefits the essence of offspring (kidney essence), brightens the eyes, directs qi downward, strengthens muscles, reconnects severed tendons/bones, tonifies the middle jiao, treats five labors and seven injuries, deficiency with shortness of breath, and stops dysentery. Long-term use makes the body light, prolongs life, keeps the complexion radiant and youthful, resists cold and heat, elevates spiritual aspiration to that of an immortal. Another name is Yunzhu (Cloud Pearl), often red in color. Another name is Yunhua (Cloud Flower), possessing all five colors. Another name is Yunying (Cloud Jade), often green in color. Another name is Yunye (Cloud Liquid), often white in color. Another name is Yunsha (Cloud Sand), yellowish-green in color. Another name is Linshi (Phosphorus Stone), pure white in color. It grows in the valleys of Mount Tai in Qi region, Mount Lu, and between the rocks of Beiding Mountain north of Langya; collected in the second lunar month.
Alisma orientale (Zexie) serves as its guiding herb (shi). It is incompatible with Jia (unclear reference, possibly a typo for 甲/armor or specific mineral) and Liushui (flowing water); it dislikes Xu Changqing (Cynanchum paniculatum root). According to "Xian Jing" (Scriptures of Immortals), there are eight types of Yumu (Mica): Facing the sun, if the color is blue-white with much black, it is called Yumu; if yellow-white with much green, it is called Yunying; if green-yellow with much red, it is called Yunzhu; if like ice dew changing from yellow to white, it is called Yunsha; if yellow-white and crystal clear, it is called Yunye; if bright pure white and transparent, it is called Linshi. These six types are suitable for consumption, each having its appropriate season. Those that are dark black with mottled patterns like iron require specific refining methods and must be processed finely; otherwise, ingesting them causes severe harm to the abdomen. Currently, pills and powders used for consumptive diseases simply crush and sieve it, which is highly inappropriate. Langya is northeast of Pengcheng, and Qingzhou also has it. Currently, only Mica from Mount Lu in Jiangdong is considered superior, as it is cultivated in sandy soil and grows over years. When refining, using Alum (Fan Shi) makes it soft and rotten, demonstrating the effect of mutual inhibition (xiang wei). Dew on hundred herbs surpasses East-flowing Water (Dong Liu Shui); water dripping from thatched roofs in the fifth lunar month is also used.
Taste is sweet, nature is warm, non-toxic. It primarily treats cough with rebellious qi, brightens the eyes, benefits essence, calms the five zang organs, unites the hundred joints, facilitates the nine orifices, promotes lactation, tonifies qi, supplements deficiency, treats weakness and cold pain in the legs, exhaustion of the lower jiao, and strengthens yin. Long-term use prolongs life and health, improves complexion, prevents aging, and enables conception. If taken without refining, it causes strangury (lin syndrome). Another name is Gongru (Public Milk), another is Lushi (Reed Stone), another is Xiashi (Summer Stone). It grows in the valleys of Mount Shaoshi and Mount Tai; collection time is unrestricted.
Semen Cnidii (Shechuangzi) serves as its guiding herb (shi). It is incompatible with Peony (Mudan), Xuan Shi (Black Mineral), and Mumeng (Unclear, possibly a plant); it fears Zhiyingshi (Hematite). The primary origin is Shixing, but it is also found in caves of famous mountains in Jiangling and eastern regions. Only those thin and light like goose quills, breaking into pieces like fingernails, lacking "goose teeth" structures inside, and appearing bright are of good quality. Long stalactites can be one or two chi long.
The color is yellow; washing with Ku Jiu (Bitter Wine/Vinegar) turns it white. It is rarely used in "Xian Jing", but highly valued in folk prescriptions, making it very expensive.
[Note]: Zhuru (Stalactite) from Shixing is ranked first. Those from Guang, Lian, Li, Lang, and Chen prefectures are next; although dense and lustrous, they are good for consumption. Those from three caves in Xiazhou, Qingxi, and Fangzhou are inferior to Shixing. Those from other lands should not be lightly consumed. They easily induce strangury and thirst; they should only be crushed, sieved, wrapped in white silk, and taken after soaking with other herbs in wine. Tao Hongjing's claim that Zhuru can be one or two chi long is erroneous.
