针刺各分肉处，如果脉象特别寒的，用针补法。病愈即止。癫疾刚开始产生时，先表现为心情不愉快，头重，眼睛直视，抬眼时眼球发红。发作极度后感到心烦，在颜面部进行诊察。取手太阳经和手阳明经，太阴经血变化后癫疾始发，反而出现强直且脊痛。诊察足太阳、足阳明、足太阴经，手太阳经血变化后即可痊愈。癫疾开始发作时，牵引口角啼哭呼叫的，诊察手部。阳明经和太阳经右侧强直的攻治左侧，左侧强直的攻治右侧。血变色即可停止。治疗癫疾的人，经常与患者居住在一起，观察应当取穴的部位。病发时观察其有过激表现的地方，立即泻之。将放出的血置于葫芦瓢中，等到下次发病时，血会独自跳动。如果不跳动，灸穷骨二十壮。穷骨就是尾骶骨。筋癫疾者，身体蜷曲挛急，脉大。针刺颈部大经脉的本部。呕吐多涎沫，气下泄不止的，为不治之症。癫疾者，突然仆倒，四肢脉皆胀满，从满脉处全部刺之出血。不满的，在头顶旁侧灸太阳经，又在腰部距中线三寸处灸带脉，在各肌肉根部。呕吐多涎沫，气泄不止的，为不治之症。
治疗癫狂吐舌。取穴飞扬、太一、滑肉门。
治疗风狂。
先用五枚铜钱放在头顶发髻中，用器皿盛水，新布覆盖在上面，横着大口对着上面。然后庄重地呼唤并注视那个人。那人必定想要起身走动。
千万不要听从。于是取水喷他一下，吹一口气看反应。重复三次，然后仔细擦干水分，用手指弹额头，靠近发际之间。想让他痊愈吗？那人必定不肯回答。这样连续弹三七二十一响，他才回答。用针刺鼻下人中穴，靠近鼻孔内侧的空隙，留针。刺两耳根前宛宛动脉中，留针。又刺鼻直上入发际一寸处，横刺。又刺鼻直上，直到病人醒悟才停止。

The Yellow Emperor asked: Why do some people suffer from dianji (epilepsy) since birth? How is it acquired? Qibo replied: This originates in the womb. At that time, the mother suffered repeated severe frights.
The qi of fright ascends but does not descend; essence and qi gather together, thus causing the child to develop dianji. The disease is in the Yang meridians, presenting with alternating chills and fever. When all muscle divisions present with alternating chills and fever, it is called Kuang (mania).
When needling, if the pulse is deficient, observe until the heat in the muscle divisions subsides, then stop. For early-stage dianji, if it occurs once a year or once a month without treatment, or once every four to five days, it is named dianji.
Needle the various muscle divisions. If the pulse is particularly cold, use the tonification method with the needle. Stop when the illness resolves. At the beginning of dianji generation, there is initially unhappiness, heavy head, fixed gaze, and redness upon lifting the eyes. After extreme发作 (paroxysm), there is heart vexation. Observe at the face. Select Hand Taiyang and Hand Yangming meridians. When blood changes in Taiyin, dianji begins; conversely, there is rigidity and spinal pain. Observe Foot Taiyang, Foot Yangming, and Foot Taiyin. When blood changes in Hand Taiyang, it cures. When dianji starts and draws the mouth while crying and calling, observe the hands. If Yangming and Taiyang on the right are strong, attack the left; if the left is strong, attack the right. Stop when blood color changes. Those treating dianji should live with the patient often, observing where to select acupoints. When the illness arrives, observe for excess areas, then drain them. Place the extracted blood in a gourd ladle. At the time of发作, the blood moves alone. If it does not move, moxa Qionggu (coccyx) 20 zhuang. Qionggu refers to the tailbone. For Jindianji (tendon epilepsy), the body is curled and cramped, pulse is large. Needle the root of the large meridians in the neck. If vomiting excessive saliva and qi leaking downward uncontrollably, it is incurable. Dianji patients may suddenly fall, with all limb pulses swollen. Prick all full pulses to bleed. If not full, moxa Taiyang along the vertex, and moxa Daimai three cun from the midline at the waist, at the roots of muscle divisions. Vomiting excessive saliva and uncontrollable qi leakage is incurable.
Treats diankuang with tongue protrusion. The person will definitely refuse to answer. Do this 3x7=21 flicks, then they will answer. Use a needle to prick Renzhong (GV26) below the nose, near the inner side of the nostril opening. Retain the needle. Prick the pulsating artery anterior to the root of both ears. Retain the needle. Also prick one cun above the hairline straight up from the nose, horizontally. Also prick straight up from the nose until the person awakens, then stop.
Treats Kuangyi (Manic transformation) with excessive speech. Acupoints: Fengfu (GV16), Kunlun (BL60), Shugu (BL65).
Treats Fengdian (Wind Epilepsy). Moxa each nipple 3 zhuang. In the pubic hair behind the nail of the big toe, moxa 7 zhuang each.
