Use old cedar wood and its knots, decoct them into a liquid to wash the feet. This method is highly effective in reducing swelling and distension.
Another prescription (from *Hai Shang Fang*) specifically treats Hong Kong foot (podagra) with pain and swelling.
Cyperi Rhizoma (one liang, sliced and slightly stir-fried to remove hairs). Each dose consists of two qian, taken with a small amount of salt and one and a half zhan of water, decocted until reduced to eight-tenths volume. Administer with Xiao Qi Xiang Wan (Minor Seven-Aromatic Pill).
