Shao Yin Jun Huo (Ministerial Fire of Shao Yin) governs the Si Tian (Heavenly Qi), and Yang Ming Zao Jin (Dryness Metal of Yang Ming) governs the Zai Quan (Earthly Qi). The Central Yun is Tai Zheng Huo Yun (Excessive Fire Movement). The annual Fire is excessive, and its Qi transformation operates ahead of time. The excess coincides with the Heavenly transformation, known as "Tong Tian Hua" (Same Heaven Transformation).
The Heavenly Qi is high, and the Earthly Qi is low. Regarding grains, white grains (belonging to Metal) do not produce toxicity; the earth is invaded by pathogenic factors causing struggle in the middle.
In this year, Fire Qi is above, Metal Qi is below, and Fire Qi is in the middle. Fire overcomes Metal. The Heavenly Qi is full, while the Earthly Qi is deficient. Although the Heavenly Qi appears peaceful, Heat is abundant above. It is advisable to first access the source of transformation before the year begins to level the Fire Qi. One must suppress the excessive Fire movement, nourish the victorious Qi of the year, and break the stagnation of Metal. Avoid extreme excess that generates disease. Eat red and white grains to preserve true Qi, and eat grains of intermediate Qi to ward off empty pathogens.
For the year's Qi, it is suitable to use salty flavors to tonify the upper part and regulate the Upper Jiao, and use sour flavors to astringe the lower part and stabilize the Lower Jiao. Since the Yun matches the Heavenly Qi, cold and clear transformations are used. Thus it is said: The transformation above should be salty-cold, the middle sweet-cold, and the below sour-warm. This is the appropriateness of medicines and foods.
Before the middle of the year, Shao Yin presides. Shao Yin has the transformation of Ben (Root) and Biao (Branch); Cold and Heat are balanced, representing the peace of Heavenly Governance.
After the middle of the year, Yang Ming presides. Yang Ming transforms via its Zhong Qi (Middle Qi); Dryness and Dampness are half-and-half, which is the command of Earthly Qi.
The First Qi period starts from Yin Chu on the day of Da Han (Great Cold) in the Ding Hai year until Zi Chu on the day of Chun Fen (Spring Equinox) in this year, lasting 60 days and 87.5 ke. The Main Position is Shao Jiao Wood (Jue Yin Wind Wood). [Text missing/corrupted]... then supplement... Fen Ri Yang... and the Third Yun matches the Yun. Heavenly Governance spreads, Fire moves with Fire, myriad species flourish. Cold Qi arrives at times. People suffer from Qi Jue (Qi reversal) and heart pain, alternating cold and heat, wheezing, coughing, and red eyes.
During the Fourth Qi, Earth occupies its position (Tai Gong Earth Yun). Fluid retention arises; it is suitable to regulate Tai Yin... [Text missing/corrupted].
The Fifth Qi, from Autumn... Yun, Qi transforms similarly to Yun... Guest Qi, use salty flavor to tonify... Avoid heat when far from heat, do not violate the heat of the Si Qi. The Final Qi, from... Water, Guest Qi is Yang Ming Metal, revealing Fire Yun in the middle, Fire overcomes Metal... Overflow. Cold Qi rises frequently, causing foggy obscurity. Diseases arise in the skin... Bright Guest Qi, use sour flavor to tonify, pungent flavor to drain, bitter... Then dryness does not become a pathogen. This is the transformation of the Six Qi. At the intersection of annual Qi, it is suitable... Fu acts as Fa Zhi (Law Enforcement). If pathogens strike the Law Enforcement, people's diseases are rapid and dangerous.
