【附论】
热病的邪热侵袭肺部，就会导致上焦烦闷壅滞。患者必然想要饮水。如果水饮停滞在心下（胃脘部），就会使肺气上浮。肺主司咳嗽，水气侵犯肺脏，所以引发咳嗽。
方剂
前胡散（出自《圣惠方》）：治疗热病，高热咳嗽，心痛胸闷，适宜服用。
前胡（去除芦头）、川升麻、地骨皮、杏仁（热水浸泡后去皮尖，保留双仁，麸炒至微黄，各一两）、贝母（煨至微黄）、紫菀（清洗去苗土，各一两半）、石膏（三两半）、麦门冬（二两，去心焙干）、甘草（炙至微红，锉碎，半两）。以上药物捣成粗散。每次服用五钱，用水一大盏，加入竹叶三十七片，煎煮至剩余五分水量，滤去药渣。不限时候，温服。
麦门冬散（出自《圣惠方》）：治疗热病高热，头痛咳嗽，适宜服用。
麦门冬（一两半，去心焙干）、葛根（锉碎）、贝母（煨至微黄，各三分）、柴胡（一两，去苗）、百合、川升麻（各半两）、栀子仁、甘草（炙至微红，锉碎，各一分）。以上药物捣成粗散。每次服用四钱，用水一中盏，加入豆豉半合，葱白两根，煎煮至剩余六分水量，滤去药渣。不限时候，温服。
生地黄饮子（出自《圣惠方》）：治疗热病，毒瓦斯攻冲肺部导致咳嗽，喉中生出疮疡，适宜服用。
生地黄（切片）、柴胡（去苗，各二两）、川升麻、玄参、川大黄（生用）、贝母（煨至微黄）、麦门冬（去苗）、百合、甘草（炙至微红，锉碎，各一两）。以上药物细锉并混合均匀。每次服用半两，用水一大盏，煎煮至剩余五分水量，滤去药渣，加入蜂蜜一小匙，再煮沸一次，放温。不限时候服用。
郁李仁散（出自《圣惠方》）：治疗热病，心肺烦热，气逆咳嗽，无法躺卧睡觉，时常口渴想喝水，全身浮肿，适宜服用。
郁李仁（热水浸泡去皮尖）、麻黄（去根节）、贝母（煨至微黄）、赤茯苓、杏仁（热水浸泡去皮尖，保留双仁，麸炒至微黄）、猪苓（去黑皮）、栝蒌子仁、汉防己（各一两）、桑根白皮（一两半，锉碎）。以上药物制成散剂。每次服用五钱，用水一大盏，煎煮至剩余五分水量，滤去药渣。不限时候，温服。
百合散（出自《圣惠方》）：治疗热病，心肺热盛，小便黄赤，气逆咳嗽，适宜服用。
百合（一两半）、杏仁（热水浸泡去皮尖，保留双仁，麸炒至微黄）、木通（锉碎）、黄芩（各一两）、麦门冬（去心）、甘草（炙至微红，锉碎）、甜葶苈（炒至紫色，各三分）、麻黄（去根节）、紫菀（清洗去苗土，各半两）。以上药物制成散剂。每次服用五钱，用水一大盏，煎煮至剩余五分水量，滤去药渣。不限时候，温服。
桑白皮散（出自《圣惠方》）：治疗热病，咳嗽喘息急促，无法躺卧睡觉，适宜服用。
桑根白皮（锉碎）、天门冬（去心）、紫苏茎叶、款冬花、皂荚根皮（锉碎）、川大黄（锉碎微炒，各一两）、木通（三分，锉碎）、甘草（半两，炙至微红，锉碎）。以上药物制成散剂。每次服用五钱，用水一大盏，煎煮至剩余五分水量，滤去药渣。不限时候，温服。
麻黄散（出自《圣惠方》）：治疗热病，咳嗽不止，心胸烦闷，气逆气喘急促，适宜服用。
麻黄（去根节）、前胡（去芦头）、紫苏子（各三分）、大麻仁、桑根白皮（锉碎）、杏仁（热水浸泡去皮尖，保留双仁，麸炒至微黄，各一两）、麦门冬（一两半，去心焙干）、甘草（半两，炙至微红，锉碎）。以上药物捣成粗散。每次服用五钱，用水一大盏，煎煮至剩余五分水量，滤去药渣。不限时候，温服。
杏仁散（出自《圣惠方》）：治疗热病八九日，胸满气喘急促咳嗽，坐卧不安，适宜服用。
杏仁（热水浸泡去皮尖，保留双仁）、天门冬（去心）、川大黄（锉碎微炒）、枳壳（麸炒至微黄，去瓤）、大腹皮（锉碎）、款冬花（各半两）、桑根白皮（锉碎）、甘草（炙至微红，锉碎）、麻黄（去根节，各三分）。以上药物制成散剂。每次服用五钱，用水一大盏，加入灯心草一撮，煎煮至剩余五分水量，滤去药渣。不限时候，温服。
木通散（出自《圣惠方》）：治疗热病，胸中烦闷胀满，咳嗽不止，适宜服用。
木通（锉碎）、紫苏茎叶、赤茯苓、贝母（炒至微黄）、桑根白皮（锉碎，各一两）、栀子仁、川升麻、杏仁（热水浸泡去皮尖，保留双仁，麸炒至微红）、枳壳（麸炒至微黄，去瓤，各三分）。以上药物制成散剂。每次服用五钱，用水一大盏，煎煮至剩余五分水量，滤去药渣。不限时候，温服。
[Supplementary Discussion]
When the pathogenic heat of a febrile disease (Re Bing) invades the Lung, it causes stagnation and oppression in the Upper Jiao. The patient will inevitably desire to drink water. If water retention occurs below the heart (epigastrium), it causes the Lung Qi to float upward. Since the Lung governs coughing, when Water Qi attacks the Lung, coughing ensues.
Prescriptions
Qianhu San (Antenium Root Powder) [from *Shenghui Fang*]: Treats febrile disease with high fever and cough, painful chest, and palpitations. Suitable for use.
Antenii Radix (Qianhu, 前胡) [deprived of rhizome], Cimicifugae Rhizoma (Chuan Shengma), Cortex Lycii (Digupi), Armeniacae Semen Amarum (Xingren) [soaked in hot water, skin and pointed end removed, retaining the double kernel, stir-fried with bran until slightly yellow, each 1 liang], Fritillariae Bulbus (Beimu) [roasted until slightly yellow], Asteris Radix et Rhizoma (Ziwan) [washed to remove seedlings and soil, each 1.5 liang], Gypsum Fibrosum (Shigao) [3.5 liang], Ophiopogonis Radix (Maimendong) [2 liang, deprived of heart and roasted], Glycyrrhizae Radix et Rhizoma (Gancao) [stir-fried until slightly red, cut into small pieces, 0.5 liang]. The above are processed into coarse powder. Each dose is 5 qian, decocted with one large bowl of water and 37 leaves of Bambusa vulgaris var. viridis (Zhuye). Decoct until only one-fifth of the liquid remains, strain, and take warm at any time.
Maimendong San (Ophiopogon Root Powder) [from *Shenghui Fang*]: Treats febrile disease with high fever, headache, and cough. Suitable for use.
Ophiopogonis Radix (Maimendong) [1.5 liang, deprived of heart and roasted], Puerariae Radix (Gegen) [cut into pieces], Fritillariae Bulbus (Beimu) [roasted until slightly yellow, each 3 fen], Bupleuri Radix (Chaihu) [1 liang, deprived of seedlings], Lilii Bulbus (Baihe), Cimicifugae Rhizoma (Chuan Shengma) [each 0.5 liang), Gardeniae Fructus (Zhizi Ren), Glycyrrhizae Radix et Rhizoma (Gancao) [stir-fried until slightly red, cut into small pieces, each 1 fen]. The above are processed into coarse powder. Each dose is 4 qian, decocted with one medium bowl of water, half he of Fabae Preparatio (Chi), and two stems of Allii Fistulosi (Congbai). Decoct until only six-tenths of the liquid remains, strain, and take warm at any time.
Shengdihuang Yinzi (Rehmannia Decoction) [from *Shenghui Fang*]: Treats febrile disease where toxic heat attacks the Lung causing cough, and sores in the throat. Suitable for use.
Rehmanniae Radix (Shengdihuang) [sliced], Bupleuri Radix (Chaihu) [deprived of seedlings, each 2 liang], Cimicifugae Rhizoma (Chuan Shengma), Scrophulariae Radix (Xuanshen), Rhei Radix et Rhizoma (Chuan Dahuang) [used raw], Fritillariae Bulbus (Beimu) [roasted until slightly yellow], Ophiopogonis Radix (Maimendong) [deprived of seedlings], Lilii Bulbus (Baihe), Glycyrrhizae Radix et Rhizoma (Gancao) [stir-fried until slightly red, cut into small pieces, each 1 liang]. The above are finely cut and mixed evenly. Each dose is 0.5 liang, decocted with one large bowl of water until one-fifth remains. Strain, add one small spoon of honey, boil once more, let cool to warm, and take at any time.
Yuliren San (Prunus Seed Powder) [from *Shenghui Fang*]: Treats febrile disease with vexatious heat in the Heart and Lung, rebellious Qi and cough, inability to lie down or sleep, frequent thirst and desire to drink, and generalized edema. Suitable for use.
Pruni Semen (Yuliren) [soaked in hot water, skin and pointed end removed], Ephedrae Herba (Mahuang) [deprived of roots and joints], Fritillariae Bulbus (Beimu) [roasted until slightly yellow], Polyporus (Chifuling), Armeniacae Semen Amarum (Xingren) [soaked in hot water, skin and pointed end removed, retaining the double kernel, stir-fried with bran until slightly yellow], Polyporus (Zuling) [black skin removed], Benincasae Semen (Gualou Ziren), Stephaniae Tetrandrae Radix (Han Fangji) [each 1 liang], Morus Albae Cortex (Sangbaipi) [1.5 liang, cut into pieces].
