方
刺蓟饮子（出圣惠方）治热病。头痛壮热。鼻衄吐血。心中紧硬。遍身疼痛

蛤粉 香墨末（各一钱） 黄丹（半钱） 上相和令匀。以新汲水调。顿服。
治热病鼻衄。诸药无效者。宜用此方。（出圣惠方）
赤马通（二枚绞取汁） 阿胶（三片炙令微黄捣末） 上相和。热搅令匀。每用少许滴
鼻中。
仍以新汲水略蘸足。即止。
治热病衄血。日夜无度。身面如金。（出圣惠方）
上以韭根一握。捣取汁。以罐盛。用索投于井中深处。良久取出。沥水同和。滴二七滴
于鼻中。瘥。
治热病鼻衄。若血下数升者。宜服。（出圣惠方）
以好松烟墨二两。捣细罗为末。用鸡子白和丸。如梧桐子大。每服以生地黄汁下二十丸。
如人行五里再服。以瘥为度。
黄土汤（出圣惠方）治鼻衄。去五脏热。气结而吐血者。

（附论）
所谓热病导致的鼻出血，是由于心和肺受到热邪损伤所致。心主管血液，肺主管气机，肺的窍穴开于鼻。当邪热与气血相搏结，就会导致鼻出血。
方剂
刺蓟饮子（出自《圣惠方》），治疗热病引起的头痛、高热、鼻出血、吐血，心中感觉紧迫僵硬，全身疼痛，四肢烦闷不适。适宜服用此方。
药材：刺蓟、生地黄、生麦门冬（去心，各一两）、鸡苏、赤茯苓、生姜（各半两）、青竹茹（一分）。
制法与服法：将上述药材细切，用水三大盏煎煮至一盏半，滤去药渣。不分时候，分三次温服。
黄龙汤（出自《圣惠方》），治疗热病引起的鼻出血，能清除五脏的热气。
药材：伏龙肝（半两）、当归（切碎微炒）、甘草（炙至微红并切碎）、赤芍药、黄芩、川朴硝、川升麻（各三分）、生干地黄（一两半）。
制法与服法：将上述药材制成粗散。每次服用五钱，用水一大盏，加入竹茹一分，煎煮至五分，滤去药渣。不分时候，温服。
阿胶散（出自《圣惠方》），治疗热病引起的鼻出血不止。这是阳毒损伤肺脏所致，适宜服用。
药材：阿胶（捣碎炒至黄燥）、伏龙肝、黄芩、地骨皮（各三分）、豉（一合）、葱白（带须二斤）。
制法与服法：将上述药材细切均匀，用水一大盏半，煎煮至一盏，滤去药渣，加入生地黄汁三合，搅拌均匀。不分时候，分三次温服。
黄芩散（出自《圣惠方》），治疗热病引起的鼻出血不止，适宜服用。
药材：黄芩、川大黄（切碎微炒）、刺蓟（各一两）、栀子仁、蒲黄（各半两）。
制法与服法：将上述药材研为散剂。每次服用四钱，用水一中盏，煎煮至六分，滤去药渣。不分时候，温服。
熟干地黄散（出自《圣惠方》），治疗热病，鼻出血量大，面色苍白无华，昏沉闷乱，虚弱困倦。
药材：熟干地黄、白赤芍、人参（去芦头）、天竺黄（各三分）、黄芪（一两，切碎）、阿胶（捣碎炒至黄燥）、当归（切碎微炒，各半两）。
制法与服法：将上述药材研为细散。每次服用不拘时候，用黄芪汤调服二钱。
贝母散（出自《圣惠方》），治疗热病引起的鼻出血不止。
药材：贝母（煨至微黄色）、刺蓟、蒲黄（各一两）。
制法与服法：将上述药材研为细散。每次服用不拘时候，用新汲取的冷水调服二钱。
治疗热病鼻出血不止的方剂（出自《圣惠方》）。
药材：蛤粉、香墨末（各一钱）、黄丹（半钱）。
制法与服法：将上述药材混合均匀，用新汲取的冷水调匀，一次性服用。
治疗热病鼻出血，其他药物无效者，适宜使用此方（出自《圣惠方》）。
药材：赤马通（二枚绞取汁液）、阿胶（三片炙至微黄后捣成粉末）。
制法与服法：将上述药材混合，加热搅拌使其均匀。每次取少许滴入鼻中。
同时用新汲取的冷水略微蘸洗双脚，即可止血。
治疗热病衄血，日夜无度，身体面部呈现金黄色（出自《圣惠方》）。
制法与服法：取韭菜根一把，捣取汁液，用罐子盛装，用绳子悬挂投入井深处，良久取出，沥去部分水分后混合，滴十四滴于鼻中，病愈。
治疗热病鼻出血，若失血量达数升者，适宜服用（出自《圣惠方》）。
制法与服法：用好松烟墨二两，捣细过筛为末，用鸡蛋清调和做成丸药，如梧桐子大小。每次用生地黄汁送服二十丸。如果人行走五里的时间后再次服用，以病愈为限度。
黄土汤（出自《圣惠方》），治疗鼻出血，清除五脏热气，因气机郁结而吐血者。
药材：当归、甘草（炙）、芍药、川芎（各三两）、黄芩（一两）、桂心（一两）、生地黄（一片）、青竹皮（五两）、釜底焦黄土（如鸡蛋一枚，用碎绵包裹）。
制法与服法：将药材切碎，用水一斗三升，先煮竹皮减少三升水量，滤去药渣，纳入其余药材，煮取三升，分两次服用。忌食海藻、菘菜和生葱。

Nosebleed (Epistaxis) caused by Heat Disease results from heat injury to the Heart and Lungs. The Heart governs Blood, while the Lung governs Qi. The Lung opens into the nose. When pathogenic heat combines with Qi and Blood, epistaxis occurs.
Formulas
Ciji Yinzi (Thistle Decoction) [From *Shenghui Fang*] treats Heat Disease presenting with headache, high fever, epistaxis, hematemesis, a sensation of tightness and hardness in the chest, generalized body pain, and irritability and oppression in the four limbs. It is suitable for consumption.
Ingredients: Ciji (Spines of Thistle), Shengdihuang (Fresh Radix Rehmanniae), Sheng Maidong (Fresh Rhizoma Ophiopogonis, hearts removed, each 1 liang); Jisu (Elsholtzia), Chifuling (Red Poria), Shengjiang (Fresh Ginger, each 0.5 liang); Qingzhuru (Green Bamboo Shavings, 1 fen).
Preparation and Administration: Finely chop the ingredients. Decoct with 3 large bowls of water until reduced to 1.5 bowls. Strain the dregs. Take warm, divided into three doses, at any time.
Huanglong Tang (Yellow Dragon Decoction) [From *Shenghui Fang*] treats epistaxis due to Heat Disease, clearing heat qi from the Five Viscera.
Ingredients: Fulonggan (Dragon's House Earth, 0.5 liang); Danggui (Radix Angelicae Sinensis, chopped and lightly stir-fried); Gancao (Radix Glycyrrhizae, honey-fried until slightly red and chopped); Chi Shaoyao (Radix Paeoniae Rubra); Huangqin (Radix Scutellariae); Chuan Puxiao (Sodium Sulfate); Chuan Shengma (Rhizoma Cimicifugae, each 3 qian); Sheng Ganhudhuang (Dried Radix Rehmanniae, 1.5 liang).
Preparation and Administration: Make into a coarse powder. Each dose is 5 qian. Decoct with 1 large bowl of water plus 1 fen of Zhuru (Bamboo Shavings) until reduced to 0.5 bowl. Strain. Take warm, at any time.
Ejiao San (Donkey-Hide Gelatin Powder) [From *Shenghui Fang*] treats persistent epistaxis due to Heat Disease. This is caused by Yang Toxin injuring the Lung. It is suitable for consumption.
Ingredients: Ejiao (Colla Corii Asini, crushed and fried until yellow and dry); Fulonggan; Huangqin; Digupi (Cortex Lycii); Dou (Faba Bean Fermented, 1 he); Congbai (Scallion White, with roots, 2 jin, each 3 qian for the first three).
Preparation and Administration: Finely chop and mix evenly. Decoct with 1.5 large bowls of water until reduced to 1 bowl. Strain. Add 3 he of Shengdihuang juice (Fresh Radix Rehmanniae Juice), mix well. Take warm, divided into three doses, at any time.
Huangqin San (Scutellaria Powder) [From *Shenghui Fang*] treats persistent epistaxis due to Heat Disease. It is suitable for consumption.
Ingredients: Huangqin (Radix Scutellariae); Chuan Dahuang (Radix et Rhizoma Rhei, chopped and lightly stir-fried); Ciji (Spines of Thistle, each 1 liang); Zhizi Ren (Seed Gardeniae); Puhuang (Pollen Typhae, each 0.5 liang).
Preparation and Administration: Make into a powder. Each dose is 4 qian. Decoct with 1 medium bowl of water until reduced to 0.6 bowl. Strain. Take warm, at any time.
Shu Ganhuduang San (Processed Dried Radix Rehmanniae Powder) [From *Shenghui Fang*] treats Heat Disease with excessive epistaxis, pale complexion without luster, dizziness, mental cloudiness, and weakness/fatigue.
Ingredients: Shu Ganhuduang (Prepared Radix Rehmanniae); Baichishao (White and Red Radix Paeoniae); Renshen (Radix Ginseng, rhizome removed); Tianzhu Huang (Calculus Bovis); Huangqi (Radix Astragali, chopped, 1.5 liang); Ejiao (Colla Corii Asini, crushed and fried until yellow and dry); Danggui (Radix Angelicae Sinensis, chopped and lightly stir-fried, each 0.5 liang).
Preparation and Administration: Make into a fine powder. Take 2 qian mixed with Huangqi Decoction (Radix Astragali Decoction), at any time.
Beimu San (Fritillaria Powder) [From *Shenghui Fang*] treats persistent epistaxis due to Heat Disease.
Ingredients: Beimu (Bulbus Fritillariae Cirrhosae, baked until slightly yellow); Ciji; Puhuang (each 1 liang).
Preparation and Administration: Make into a fine powder. Take 2 qian mixed with fresh cold water, at any time.
Formula for Treating Persistent Epistaxis due to Heat Disease [From *Shenghui Fang*].
Ingredients: Hafan (Calcium Carbonatum); Xiangmo Mo (Ink Powder, each 1 qian); Huangdan (Minium, 0.5 qian).
Preparation and Administration: Mix evenly. Mix with fresh cold water and take in one dose.
For Epistaxis due to Heat Disease where other medicines are ineffective, use this formula [From *Shenghui Fang*].
Ingredients: Chimatong (Fresh Cow Dung Juice, extracted from 2 pieces); Ejiao (Colla Corii Asini, 3 slices, roasted until slightly yellow and powdered).
Preparation and Administration: Mix and heat-stir until uniform. Apply a small amount dropwise into the nose.
Additionally, dip feet slightly in fresh cold water to stop bleeding immediately.
For Heat Disease causing Hemorrhage (Nosebleed/Blood Vomiting) without day or night restraint, resulting in a golden-yellow complexion of the body and face [From *Shenghui Fang*].
Preparation and Administration: Take a handful of Jiugen (Chinese Chive Roots), crush to extract juice. Store in a jar, lower into a deep well using a rope, leave for a long time, then retrieve. Drain some water, mix, and drip 14 drops into the nose. Cure.
For Epistaxis due to Heat Disease where blood loss amounts to several sheng, consume this [From *Shenghui Fang*].
Preparation and Administration: Use 2 liang of high-quality Songyan Mo (Pine Soot Ink), grind finely and sieve. Mix with Baiji (Egg White) to make pills the size of Sophora seeds. Take 20 pills with Shengdihuang juice. Repeat after the patient walks five li. Continue until cured.
Huangtu Tang (Yellow Earth Decoction) [From *Shenghui Fang*] treats epistaxis, clears heat from the Five Viscera, and treats hematemesis due to Qi stagnation.
Ingredients: Danggui (Radix Angelicae Sinensis); Gancao (Radix Glycyrrhizae, honey-fried); Shaoyao (Radix Paeoniae); Chuanxiong (Rhizoma Chuanxiong, each 3 liang); Huangqin (Radix Scutellariae, 1 liang); Guixin (Cortex Cinnamomi, 1 liang); Shengdihuang (Radix Rehmanniae, 1 slice); Qingzhupi (Green Bamboo Skin, 5 liang); Fudi Jiaohuangtu (Scorched Yellow Earth from the bottom of the cauldron, equivalent to one egg, wrapped in broken cotton).
Preparation and Administration: Chop ingredients. Decoct with 13 sheng of water. First boil Qingzhupi until reduced by 3 sheng. Strain. Add remaining herbs. Boil to obtain 3 sheng. Divide into two doses. Avoid consuming Haizao (Sargassum), Songcai (Chinese Cabbage), and raw Cong (Scallion).
Another Formula
Use 4 liang of Huangqin (Radix Scutellariae), chopped. Decoct with 5 sheng of water to obtain 2 sheng. Divide into three doses. This also treats leukorrhea with blood discharge in women.
