Swelling originates internally, accompanied by hard masses. The four limbs are edematous; this condition is named Shishui (Stone Water). Its root lies in the Bladder (Bladder organ). This is because the Kidney governs water metabolism, and fluids return to the Bladder. The Bladder is referred to as the "Official of the Prefecture," where body fluids are stored, and they can be excreted only through Qi transformation. Currently, Kidney deficiency leads to weak Qi in the Bladder; when Bladder Qi is weak, it cannot perform Qi transformation, causing latent Qi to become obstructed. Fluids stagnate and accumulate between the umbilicus and abdomen. Therefore, the symptoms manifest as distension and fullness in the chest and abdomen, which feel hard like stone upon palpation, distending pain in the hypochondrium, a deep and slow pulse, fever in the body, and edema in the four limbs, head, and eyes. *Shenghui Fang* states: If the red vessels are slightly enlarged, it is also indicative of Shishui. Swelling starts below the umbilicus, extending to the lower abdomen which hangs heavily; if it spreads upward to the epigastrium, it is a fatal sign.
