Plum Soup Decoction (Mei Tang Jian)
Take ripe *Prunus mume* (Yangmei). Cover them in a pottery vessel for one night until they soften. Strain the juice through a silk bag. Slowly boil down to a paste. Store in a pottery jar. Each time use, add a small amount of honey.

Cherokee Rose Decoction (Jinying Jian)
At the time of severe frost, take *Rosa laevigata* fruits (Jinyingzi). First wipe off the thorns. Then remove the pulp and seeds, and pound into a paste. Extract juice using vinegar. Filter through silk fabric. Slowly boil down to a paste.

Papaya Soup (Mugua Tang)
Remove the pulp and seeds from *Chaenomeles speciosa* (Mugua). Steam until soft, then grind into a mud-like consistency. Add a small amount of salt. Store in a pottery jar. Take by mixing with boiling water.

Tihu Paste
Take one jin (approx. 500g) of dried *Prunus mume* (Wumei), crush it. Add four large bowls of sweet water, boil down to one bowl. Filter out the dregs. Add five jin of white rock sugar and half liang of powdered *Amomum villosum* (Sharen). Seal the sandstone vessel.
Poem: Wumei resolves phlegm and stops thirst; Honey generates fluids and moistens heart and lungs; Sandalwood greatly resolves summer-heat toxicity; Musk opens orifices and expels evil qi.

Jiajian Soup
*Orisae Os* (Jiaxiang, 2 liang), *Aquilaria sinensis* (Chenxiang, 6 liang), *Syzygium aromaticum* (Dingxiang), *Agastache rugosa* (Huoxiang, each 4 liang), *Boswellia carterii* (Xunluxiang), *Liquidambar formosana* resin (Fengxianggao), *Moschus moschiferus* (Shexiang, each 6 liang), *Ziziphus jujuba* (Dazao, quantity unspecified).
Place all ingredients into the upper crucible for decocting, cover with bamboo slices. Dig a pit in the ground, place the crucible on top so that half is exposed. Place a smaller crucible containing minor fragrances underneath, sealing the opening above with wet paper and mud (thickness approx. 1 cun). Ignite the warming fire below. Burn from morning until dusk, continuing warmth until the fourth watch (early morning). After dawn, let cool. Pour the fragrant liquid from the upper crucible into the lower crucible. This completes the process.

Burnt Jiajian Fragrant Oil Combined with Lip Balm Formula
*Lagerstroemia indica* fragrance (Lanze Xiang, half jin), *Lingzhi Lingzera* (Lingling Xiang, 1 jin), *Nardostachys jatamansi* (Gansong Xiang, 5 liang), *Vetiveria zizanioides* (Wuhuoxiang, 6 liang), fresh pressed Sesame oil (Youshima, 1 sheng).
Combine all ingredients in the frying vessel. Process overnight, totaling two days and nights under cover. Use slow fire to finish decocting. Remove the fragrant oil, clarify, filter through cotton. Place in a porcelain crucible. Do not allow... [text fragment].

Another Formula
*Aquilaria sinensis* (Chenxiang, 1 jin), *Syzygium aromaticum* (Dingxiang, 2 liang), *Moschus moschiferus* (Shexiang), *Boswellia carterii* (Xunluxiang), *Alpinia zerumbet* (Aina, each half liang), *Styrax tonkinensis* (Baijiaoxiang), *Styrax benzoin* (Suhe Xiang, each 1 liang), *Orisae Os* (Jiaxiang).
Wrap in cotton... ensure two places... However, if the fragrant liquid descends unevenly. Burn for three nights and four days, then stop the fire. If too much fragrant oil causes charring, it is better to retain some "vitality" (avoid complete carbonization). Let stand for two days until the fragrance cake cools, then open the bottle. Remove everything. Grind another portion of fragrance, add one part, and burn in the bottle. Follow previous methods. If no other bottle is available, reuse the old one. For the remaining three parts, after burning all fragrance, do not open immediately. Let stand for three days and nights. Stop fire, then let stand for two more days. The Jiajian is complete. One five-sheng copper cauldron, one copper basin, one jin yellow beeswax, and other waxes. Place in the cauldron, heat until foam disappears. Pour into the basin, let stand briefly until wax solidifies. Retrieve the wax, melt again following previous methods. Select one jin of *Arnebia euchroma* (Zicao). Hold one handful with bamboo tongs, place in wax, fry until purple. Remove, add another handful of Zicao, repeating until purple intensity is reached. Fry until one jin of Zicao is exhausted, the wax color is sufficient. To make purple lip balm, add no other colors. To make flesh-colored lip balm, add small amounts of yellow and purple wax. For vermilion lip balm, mix two soybean-sized amounts of Cinnabar (Zhusha) per one liang of colored wax. To cast the aforementioned three colors of lip balm: mix half he of Jiajian into one liang of colored wax. Apply with chopstick tip onto bamboo. Observe firmness and softness. Pour into bamboo tube. Check after cooling.

First Make Fragrant Oil for Decocting Jiajian
*Lingzhi Lingzera* (Lingling Xiang), *Agastache rugosa* (Huoxiang, each 1 liang, crushed, mixed with wine and warmed slightly, wrapped in cotton, placed in two jin raw Sesame oil, slow fire for one night, strain. Another Formula
Beeswax and Honey (each 10 liang), *Arnebia euchroma* (Zicao, 1.5 liang). Mix with wax and boil until thick. Mix Zicao with Cinnabar and pigment, pour into tube.

Jiajian Formula
*Aquilaria sinensis* (Chenxiang, 6 liang), *Syzygium aromaticum* (Dingxiang), Jian Xiang (4 liang), *Liquidambar formosana* (Fengxiang), *Pterocarpus santalinus* (Qingmuxiang, each 2 liang), *Moschus moschiferus* (Shexiang, 1 ju), *Ziziphus jujuba* (Dazao, 10 pieces), Meat Jia, *Nardostachys jatamansi* (Gansong Xiang), Wet... Becomes Jiajian.

Jiajian Lip Balm for Treating Cracked Lips and Bad Breath
First, mash hemp into mud. Coat two good porcelain bottles with this mud, capacity over one dou. Thickness half cun. Sun-dry until dry.

Cherokee Rose Jam (Jinyingzi Jian)
Use *Rosa laevigata* fruits (Jinyingzi) after frost. Pick with bamboo tongs. In a large wooden mortar, pound to remove thorns without damaging the fruit. Split into two halves. Remove seeds.
Each dose takes one spoonful, mixed with one cup of warm wine. Its merits cannot be fully described.
