《黄帝内经》说：有的病表现为像发狂一样的症状，这是由阳邪引起的。阳气因为突然受到挫折而难以疏泄，所以容易发怒。这种病叫做“阳厥”。
赤茯苓汤（又名羚羊角汤，出自《宣明论方》）：治疗阳气厥逆。症状为多怒且发狂，颈部动脉搏动明显。
