薛立斋治一妇人，咽间作痛，两月后始溃而不敛，遍身筋骨亦痛，诸药不应。先以土萆
汤数剂而敛，更以四物汤倍加土茯苓、黄 ，二十余剂，诸证悉愈。又一弥月小儿，先于
口内患之，后延于身，年余不愈。以土茯苓为末，乳汁调服，母以白汤调服，月余而愈。又
一男子以生广疮，服轻粉稍愈，后复发，又服轻粉稍愈；继后大发，喉 溃蚀，与鼻相通，
臂腿数枚如桃大，溃年余不敛。虚证悉具，投以萆 汤为主，佐以健脾诸药，月余而安。又
一妇人，脸鼻俱蚀，半载不敛，治以前药而愈。按此方本治淫疮，味甘而利，善去湿热，和
血脉。所以凡诸疮毒，皆宜用之，其效未可尽述。

薛立斋治疗一位妇人，咽喉部位疼痛，两个月后才溃烂且久不愈合，全身筋骨也感到疼痛，服用各种药物均无效。先使用土萆薢汤（Tu Bi Xie Tang）数剂，伤口得以收敛；随后改用四物汤（Si Wu Tang），加倍加入土茯苓和黄芪（Huangqi, Astragalus Root），服用二十余剂后，所有症状全部痊愈。
又有一位刚满月的婴儿，先在口腔内患病，后来蔓延至全身，一年多未能治愈。将土茯苓研成粉末，用乳汁调服给婴儿吃，母亲则用白开水调服，一个月左右便痊愈了。
又有一位男子患有生疮（指梅毒等性传播疾病引起的溃疡），服用轻粉（Calomel, Mercurous Chloride）后稍有好转，但后来复发，再次服用轻粉后稍有好转；继而后病情大发，喉部溃烂侵蚀，与鼻腔相通，手臂和腿部出现数个如桃子大小的肿块，溃烂一年多也不愈合。虚证表现齐全，投以萆薢汤为主方，辅以健脾类药物，一个月左右病情安定。
又有一位妇人，面部和鼻子都被腐蚀，半年不愈合，用上述药物治疗而痊愈。按语：此方原本用于治疗淫疮（性病溃疡），药味甘平而通利，善于去除湿热，调和血脉。因此，凡是各种疮毒，都适宜使用此方，其疗效无法一一尽述。

Xue Lizhai treated a woman who suffered from pain in the throat. Two months later, it ulcerated and failed to heal. Her entire body's sinews and bones also ached, and various medications were ineffective. Initially, she was administered Tu Bixie Tang (Dioscorea Hypoglauca Decoction) for several doses, which allowed the wound to close. Subsequently, Siwu Tang (Four Substance Decoction) was used with doubled amounts of Tu Fuling (Smilax Glabra Rhizome) and Huangqi (Astragalus Root). After more than twenty doses, all symptoms completely resolved.
Another case involved an infant just one month old. The disease first appeared inside the mouth and later spread to the entire body, persisting for over a year without healing. Tu Fuling (Smilax Glabra Rhizome) was ground into powder and mixed with breast milk for the infant to consume. The mother took it mixed with plain water. Both healed within about a month.
Another male patient suffered from "Sheng Chuang" (primary syphilitic chancre or similar venereal ulcer). He took Qingfen (Calomel, Mercurous Chloride), which provided slight relief, but the condition recurred. Taking Qingfen again brought slight relief. Later, the disease flared up severely: his throat ulcerated and eroded, creating a passage to his nose; several tumors the size of peaches appeared on his arms and legs, ulcerating and failing to heal for over a year. Signs of deficiency were fully present. He was prescribed Bixie Tang (Dioscorea Hypoglauca Decoction) as the main formula, supplemented with herbs that strengthen the spleen. Within a month, his condition stabilized.
Another female patient had her face and nose eroded, failing to heal for half a year. She was cured using the aforementioned treatments. Commentary: This formula was originally intended for treating venereal ulcers. Its taste is sweet and its nature is draining, effectively clearing damp-heat and harmonizing the blood vessels. Therefore, it is suitable for all kinds of sores and toxins, though its efficacy cannot be exhaustively described.
