[Nature] Warm. [Qi] Those with strong odor belong to Yang. Non-toxic. Note: Use green mud from pits.

Human Feces: Cold in nature, primarily treats epidemic high fever, manic running, and resolves various toxins. It is advisable to use extremely dry feces, grind into powder, and administer by pouring boiling water over it. ○ Green mud from an east-facing latrine or urine pit is used to treat throat obstruction (Houbi), reduce carbuncle swelling; if pus has already formed, it will rupture (Recorded by famous physicians). [Treatment] [Tao Hongjing stated] The Li people in Jiaozhou and Guangzhou mix human feces with scorched copper to make arrowheads; if a person is shot and the skin is broken, they die, but drinking fecal juice cures them. Pigs and dogs do not die when shot because they eat feces. Drinking fecal juice also cures epidemic high fever. Currently, in temples near cities, some plug the mouth of empty jars, place feces inside, and collect the liquid after years of accumulation. This liquid is very dark and bitter, named "Yellow Dragon Soup" (Huanglong Tang), which cures critical cases of warm diseases. [Commentary on Tang Bencao] Human feces treats various toxins, sudden severe heat, and yellowish suffocation resembling death; fresh feces are most effective when taken with water. Dry feces are burned until smoke ceases, soaked in water, and the juice drunk, named "Coffin-Breaking Soup" (Poguan Tang), treating cold damage and heat toxins; soaking in water and drinking is even more beneficial. It breaks Ding swellings; applying fresh feces causes the root to rot within one day. [Yanyi states] Use aged, dry feces ground into powder. Dig a small pit 5-6 inches deep in clean yellow earth in a shady place. Place three qian (approx. 10-15g) of powder in the pit, mix thoroughly with fresh drawn water, wait for clarification, and administer to those suffering from epidemic high fever and manic thirst requiring water. It is now commonly called "Earth Clear" (Diqing), but do not drink excessively as it may be harmful. [Bielu states] Treat snake bites by applying thick feces and wrapping with cloth; it dissipates. ○ For infant yin sores, apply burned feces ash; it heals. [Combined Treatments] Fecal Clear Liquid (Fenqing Leng): In the twelfth lunar month, cut light bamboo, remove the green skin, soak to extract the seepage juice. Treats epidemic heat diseases, manic fevers, poisoning, malignant sores, and mushroom toxins; take the juice. Soak Gleditsia sinensis (Zaojia) and sugarcane to treat epidemic heat diseases. ○ For postpartum uterine prolusion, stir-fry human feces until red, take with wine, one fangcun bi (approx. 3-5ml) per dose, three times daily. ○ Bone-steaming fever: Dry-burn feces until the outside is black, clarify in water. Take one xiao sheng (approx. 200ml) every morning, and combine with one xiao sheng of child's urine at night. Continue until cured.
