[Toxic]
Dengzhan You (Lamp Oil) treats all kinds of acute wind-stroke, Hou Bi (sore throat with swelling and obstruction), and Tan Jue (fainting due to phlegm obstruction). Sweep it into the throat with a goose feather to induce vomiting for immediate effect. It can also be applied externally to various malignant sores, scabies, and tinea. (From *Bencao Gangmu*)
[Name] Dengwo You (Lamp Wick Oil). [Origin] Available in every household. [Flavor] Pungent, Bitter. [Nature] Warm. [Combined Treatment] (From *Ji Yuan Fang*) Treats carbuncles on the breast by frying sesame seeds until scorched, pounding them into a paste, and mixing with the oil residue from the bottom of the lamp vessel for topical application, which disperses the swelling. [Explanation] (Explaining the poem on Zouma Hou Bi: Acute Hou Bi with severe swelling is most worrying; quickly take some lamp oil. For severe cases, only three or five mouthfuls are needed. This prescription was left by a perfected person.)
Guogai (Pot Lid) treats Ya Gan (gangrenous gingivitis) and Yin Gan (genital gangrene). Take the black soot from the pot lid, mix it in equal parts with Ji Huangpi Hui (Ash of Chicken Yellow Skin), Canjian Hui (Ash of Silkworm Cocoon), and Ku Fan (Alum), and grind into powder. Wash the affected area with rice water and apply frequently. (From *Bencao Gangmu*)
Zhenglong (Steamer Basket) (From *Bencao Shiyi*) Treats: Take aged bamboo pieces, bind them together with broken brooms, add old hemp shoe soles and snake skins, burn them to ash, and rub the ash on vitiligo lesions. (From *Taiping Shenghui Fang*)
Chuandan Bu (Steaming Cloth) treats injuries from falling off horses and all kinds of tendon and bone damage. It is used in the prescriptions of Zhang Zhongjing. (From *Bencao Gangmu*) [Explanation] (Wang Haogu's *Baiyi Xuanfang* records: A person suffered facial edema and closed eyes after being steamed by the hot vapor from an opened steamer. A physician intuitively took long-used steaming cloth, ground it into powder, and applied it, resulting in immediate resolution. This is likely because the cloth has absorbed much steam energy, thus using it to draw out the toxicity of the steam, similar to how salt water uses its salty nature to resonate with similar elements.)
Bisao (Broken Broom) treats Bai Bo Lai Feng (vitiligo-like skin diseases); burn to ash and incorporate into medicine. (From *Bencao Gangmu*) [Name] Hui (Xu Shen's *Shuowen Jiezi* states: "Sao" means holding a towel to sweep. Bamboo brooms are called "Hui".) [Origin] Found everywhere. Any broom made from bamboo branches, thorns, millet tassels, reeds, cattails, or miscanthus grass qualifies as a broom. [Treatment] (From *Shenghui Fang*) Treats warts on the body and face. On the night of the 15th day of each lunar month at Zi hour, sweep the warts 21 times (3x7) with a worn broom until they gradually disappear. [Combined Treatment] (From *Gujin Luyian Fang*) Treats Bai Bo Feng (Vitiligo) by taking Bisao (broken broom), Po Bu (torn cloth), Lv Di (shoe soles), Zheng Dai (steamer straps), Fu La (cured meat), Chan Jing (cicada necks), and She Pi (snake skins) in equal parts. Burn them together during a lunar eclipse, grind into powder, and take one Cunbi (approx. 2-3 grams) with wine, three times daily. Also, mix with strong vinegar for topical application. Avoid wind-inducing foods. This is the prescription of Xu Yu.
