蚯蚓，味咸，气寒，有小毒，颈白者佳，盐水洗用。治温病大热狂言，疗伤寒伏热谵语，
并
用捣烂绞汁，井水调下立瘥。兼治小水不通，蛊毒猝中，杀蛇瘕蛔虫，消肾风香港脚，又疗黄
疸，行湿如神。人或被蛇咬伤，盐水浸之即解。
治屎封，悍犬咬毒，仍出犬毛殊功，尤治毒疮。蚯蚓乃至微之物，实至神之物也。大热
发狂
之症，与其用白虎汤以泻之，不若用蚯蚓浆水以疗之。盖石膏虽泻火，而能伤胃；蚯蚓既泻
火，而又不损土。蚯蚓生于土中，土为蚯蚓之母，子见母而自安故也。
或问蚯蚓治发狂如神，此何故？曰∶蚯蚓善泻阳明之火，而又能定心中之乱，故一物而
两治
之也。
又问用蚯蚓，何故必用地浆以佐之？盖地浆取北方至阴之气，泻阳明至阳之气也。且蚯
蚓得
土而性安，毒以攻热，而不毒以生毒，相制以成奇功也。
又问蚯蚓有毒，以治发狂之症，万一毒发，不益助狂乎？曰∶发狂之症，得毒而转有生
机，
盖火热逢寒毒而自化。用蚯蚓以泻热，正取其毒瓦斯之入心，而后可以解热也，热解而狂自定
，此巧治之法也。
蟾酥，去毒如神，以毒制毒也。消坚破块，解瘀化痈。虽皆外治之功，而药笼中断不可
缺。
蟾酥有大毒，似不宜服，而诸家皆云可服，不可信也。虽曰以毒攻毒，亦宜于外治，而
不宜
于内治也。
蚯蚓，味道咸，性质寒，有轻微毒性，颈部白色的品质较好，需用盐水清洗后使用。治疗温病引起的高热、胡言乱语，以及伤寒潜伏的热邪导致的谵妄，都将蚯蚓捣烂绞取汁液，用井水调服，立刻痊愈。兼治小便不通，蛊毒突然发作，杀灭蛇瘕和蛔虫，消除肾风和香港脚（足部肿痛），又治疗黄疸，祛除湿邪效果神奇。人如果被蛇咬伤，用盐水浸泡即可解毒。
治疗屎封（肛门闭塞不通），对于疯狗咬伤的毒素也有特殊功效，尤其擅长治疗毒疮。蚯蚓是极其微小的生物，却是极其神奇的药物。对于大热导致发狂的症状，与其使用白虎汤来泻火，不如使用蚯蚓浆水来治疗。因为石膏虽然能泻火，但会损伤胃气；蚯蚓既能泻火，又不损伤脾胃。蚯蚓生长在土壤中，土是蚯蚓的母亲，儿子见到母亲自然安心，所以能安中。
有人问蚯蚓治疗发狂效果如神，这是什么缘故？回答说：蚯蚓善于清泻阳明经的火邪，同时又能安定心中的紊乱，所以一味药就能起到两种治疗效果。
又问使用蚯蚓时，为什么一定要用地浆来辅助？因为地浆汲取北方至阴之气，用来清泻阳明至阳之气。而且蚯蚓得到土的性质就安定，以毒攻热，而不因生毒而致毒，相互制约从而成就奇效。
又问蚯蚓有毒，用它来治疗发狂的症状，万一毒性发作，不是更加助长狂躁吗？回答说：发狂的症状，遇到毒性反而转有生路，因为火热之邪遇到寒毒就会自行化解。使用蚯蚓来泻热，正是利用其毒性进入心脏，然后才能解除热邪，热邪解除而狂躁自然平息，这是巧妙的治疗方法。
蟾酥，去除毒素效果神奇，是以毒制毒的方法。消除坚硬肿块，破解瘀滞，化解痈肿。虽然这些都是外治的功效，但在药箱中断不可缺少的药物。
Earthworm (Qiuyin), salty in taste, cold in nature, slightly toxic. Those with white necks are of superior quality; they should be washed with salt water before use. It treats high fever and delirious speech caused by warm diseases (Wenbing), as well as muttering due to latent heat in cold damage (Shanghan). The earthworm is crushed, juice is extracted, and taken mixed well-water, resulting in immediate recovery. It also treats urinary obstruction, sudden poisoning from gu toxins (Gu Du), kills snake-related abdominal masses and roundworms, resolves kidney wind (Shen Feng) and Hong Kong foot (Hongxiangjiao - a traditional term for gouty arthritis or severe foot swelling), and treats jaundice. Its ability to resolve dampness is miraculous. If bitten by a snake, soaking the wound in salt water provides relief.
It treats fecal impaction (Shifeng) and dog bite toxicity, showing special efficacy against dog hair embedded in wounds, and is particularly effective for toxic sores. Earthworm is a very minute creature but possesses divine efficacy. For symptoms of mania caused by extreme heat, rather than using Baihu Tang (White Tiger Decoction) to purge fire, it is better to treat it with earthworm juice mixed with water. Although Shigao (Gypsum Fibrosum) purges fire, it can damage the stomach; Earthworm purges fire without damaging the spleen/stomach earth element. Since earthworms live in soil, and soil is the mother of the earthworm, the "son" finds peace when seeing the "mother."
One asks: Why does earthworm treat mania so effectively? The answer is: Earthworm excels at clearing fire from the Yangming channel and calming mental disorder, thus treating both aspects with a single herb.
Another question: Why must Dipu (Earth Slurry) be used to assist earthworm? Because Dipu draws upon the supreme yin qi of the north to purge the supreme yang qi of the Yangming channel. Furthermore, earthworms find their nature settled in soil; they use toxicity to attack heat without generating new toxicity through mutual restraint, thereby achieving miraculous results.
Another question: Earthworm is toxic; if used to treat mania, what if the toxicity flares up and exacerbates the madness? The answer is: In cases of mania, encountering toxicity can restore vitality, as fiery heat transforms upon meeting cold toxicity. Using earthworm to purge heat relies precisely on its toxic properties entering the heart to resolve the heat; once heat is resolved, mania subsides naturally. This is a skillful therapeutic method.
Toad venom (Chansu), removes toxins miraculously, employing toxicity to counteract toxicity. It dissolves hardness, breaks masses, resolves stasis, and dissipates abscesses. Although these are primarily external treatment effects, it is an indispensable drug in any medicine cabinet.
Toad venom has major toxicity and seems unsuitable for internal administration. Although some claim it can be taken internally, this is not credible. While "using toxicity to attack toxicity" is valid, it is suitable for external application but not for internal treatment.
