【释名】人粪（《别录》）、大便。
【气味】苦，寒，无毒。
【主治】时行大热狂走，解诸毒，捣末，沸汤沃服之（《别录》）。伤寒热毒，水渍饮之，
弥善。新者，封疔肿，一日根烂（苏颂）。
粪清
【释名】黄龙汤（弘景）、还元水（《菽园记》）、人中黄。弘景曰∶近城市人以空罂塞
口，纳粪中，积年得汁，甚黑而苦，名为黄龙汤，疗瘟病垂死者皆瘥。大明曰∶腊月截淡竹
去青皮，浸渗取汁，治天行热疾中毒，名粪清。浸皂荚、甘蔗，治天行热疾，名人中黄。
震亨曰∶人中黄，以竹筒入甘草末于内，竹木塞两头，冬月浸粪缸中，立春取出，悬风
处阴干，破竹取草，晒干用。汪机曰∶用棕皮绵纸上铺黄土，浇粪汁淋土上，滤取清汁，入
新瓮内，碗覆定，埋土中
【主治】天行热狂热疾，中毒，蕈毒，恶疮（大明）。热毒湿毒，大解五脏实热。饭和
作丸，清痰，消食积，降阴火（震亨）。
【附方】旧十三，新二十。
劳复食复∶人屎烧灰，酒服方寸匕。（《千金方》）
热病发狂，奔走似癫，如见鬼神，久不得汗，及不知人事者。以人中黄入大罐内，以泥
固济， 半日，去火毒，研末。新汲水服三钱。未退再服。（《斗门方》）
大热狂渴∶干陈人屎为末，于阴地净黄土中作五六寸小坑，将末三两匙于坑中，以新汲
水调匀，良久澄清，细细与饮即解。世俗谓之地清。（寇宗 《衍义》）
劳极骨蒸，亦名伏连传尸，此方甚验。用人屎（湿者）五升，小便一升，新粟米饭五升，
六月六日曲半饼，以瓷瓶盛，封密室中，二七日并消，亦无恶气。每旦服一合，午再服之，
神效。（张文仲《备急方》）
骨蒸热劳∶取人屎干者，烧令外黑，纳水中澄清。每旦服一小升，薄晚服童便一小升，
以瘥为度。既常服，可就作坑，烧屎二升，夜以水三升渍之，稍稍减服。此方神妙，非其人
莫浪传之。（《外台秘要》）
呕血吐痰∶心烦骨蒸者。人中黄为末，每服三钱，茜根汁、竹沥、姜汁和匀，服之。（《丹
溪心法》）
鼻衄不止∶人屎尖烧灰，水服一二钱，并吹鼻中。（《千金方》）
噎膈反胃，诸药不效∶真阿魏一钱，野外干人屎三钱，为末。五更以姜片蘸食，能起死
人。乃赵玉渊方也。（《永类钤方》）
噎食不下∶人屎入萝卜内，火炼三炷香，取研。每服三分，黄酒下，三服效。（《海上
名方》）
痘疮不起∶《儒门事亲》∶治痘疮倒 ，及灰白下陷。用童子粪干者，新瓦 过。每一两
入龙脑一分，研匀。每服半钱至一钱，蜜水调下。四灵无价散∶治痘疮黑陷，腹胀危笃者，
此为劫剂。用人粪、猫粪、猪粪、犬粪等分，腊月初旬收埋高燥黄土窖内，至腊八日取出，
砂罐盛之，盐泥固济，炭火 令烟尽为度。取出为末，入麝香少许，研匀，瓷器密封收之。
一岁一字，二岁半钱，三岁一钱，蜜水调下，须臾疮起。此乃以毒攻毒。用火化者，从治之
义也。发背欲死烧屎灰，醋和敷之，干即易。（《肘后方》）
一切痈肿未溃∶用干人屎末、麝香各半钱，研匀，以豆大，津调贴头外，以醋面作钱护
之。脓溃去药。（宗 《衍义》）
疔肿初起∶刮破，以热屎尖敷之，干即易。不过十五遍，即根出立瘥。（《千金》）
五色丹毒∶黄龙汤饮二合，并涂之，良。（《千金方》）
九漏有虫∶干人屎、干牛屎，隔绵贴之，虫闻其气即出。若痒则易之，虫尽乃止。（《千

疳蚀口鼻，唇颊穿者∶绵裹人屎贴之，必有虫出。（《十便良方》）

诸毒猝恶，热闷欲死者∶新粪汁，水和服。或干者烧末，渍汁饮。名破棺汤。（苏恭）
解
药箭毒，毒箭有三种∶交广夷人用焦铜作箭镞，岭北诸处以蛇毒螫物汁着筒中渍箭镞，此二
种才伤皮肉，便洪脓沸烂而死。若中之，便饮汁并涂之，惟此最妙。又一种用射罔煎涂箭镞，
亦宜此方。（姚僧坦《集验方》）
野葛芋毒、山中毒菌欲死者∶并饮粪汁一升，即活。（《肘后方》）
漏肉脯毒∶人屎烧灰，酒服方寸匕。（《肘后方》）
恶犬咬伤∶左盘龙（即人屎也）浓封之，数日即愈。（《蔺氏经验方》）
心腹急痛欲死∶用人屎同蜜擂匀，新汲水化下。（《生生编》）

【释名】人粪（出自《名医别录》）、大便。
【气味】味苦，性寒，无毒。
【主治】治疗流行性大热、狂躁奔走之症，能解除各种毒素。捣成粉末，用沸水冲服（出自《名医别录》）。治疗伤寒热毒，用水浸泡后饮用，效果更佳。新鲜的粪便，外敷疔疮肿毒，一天即可使病根腐烂脱落（苏颂记载）。
粪清
【释名】黄龙汤（陶弘景称）、还元水（《菽园记》称）、人中黄。陶弘景说：靠近城市的人用空坛子塞住口，插入粪中，积累多年取得汁液，颜色很黑且味道苦，称为黄龙汤，治疗瘟疫病危重者都能痊愈。孟诜说：腊月截取淡竹，去掉青皮，浸泡渗滤取汁，治疗时行热疾中毒，称为粪清。浸泡皂荚和甘蔗的，治疗时行热疾，称为人中黄。朱震亨说：人中黄的制作方法是，将甘草末装入竹筒内，用竹木塞住两头，在冬天浸入粪缸中，立春时取出，挂在通风处阴干，破开竹筒取出草末，晒干使用。汪机说：用棕皮和绵纸铺上黄土，浇淋粪汁过滤出清汁，倒入新瓮内，用碗盖好，埋入土中。
【主治】治疗时行热病、狂热疾、中毒、蕈类毒素、恶疮（孟诜记载）。清除热毒湿毒，大幅解除五脏实热。与饭混合做成丸剂，可清痰、消食积、降阴火（朱震亨记载）。
【附方】旧方十三首，新方二十首。
热病发狂，奔走如癫，似见鬼神，长久不出汗，以及神志不清者。将人中黄放入大罐内，用泥密封固定，半天后去除火毒，研成粉末。用刚打来的冷水送服三钱。症状未退再服。（《斗门方》）
大热狂渴：将陈年干人屎研成末，在阴凉地的干净黄土中挖五六寸深的小坑，将三两匙药末放入坑中，用刚打来的冷水调匀，静置片刻待其澄清，细细喂服即可解热。世俗称之为地清。（寇宗奭《衍义》）
劳极骨蒸，又名伏连传尸，此方非常有效。用人屎（湿的）五升，小便一升，新粟米饭五升，六月六日制的曲半块，用瓷瓶盛装，在密室中密封，十四天后完全消化，也没有恶臭。每天早晨服一合，中午再服一次，效果神奇。（张文仲《备急方》）
骨蒸热劳：取干燥的人屎，烧至外表变黑，放入水中澄清。每天早晨服一小升，傍晚服童便一小升，以病愈为度。如果长期服用，可以就地挖坑，烧二升人屎，晚上用三升水浸泡，逐渐减少服药量。此方神妙，非合适之人不要随意传授。（《外台秘要》）
呕血吐痰：心烦骨蒸者。将人中黄研成末，每次服三钱，与茜草根汁、竹沥、姜汁混合均匀后服用。（《丹溪心法》）
鼻衄不止：人屎尖端部分烧成灰，用水送服一二钱，并吹入鼻中。（《千金方》）
噎膈反胃，诸药无效：真阿魏一钱，野外干人屎三钱，研成末。五更天时用姜片蘸着吃，能起死回生。这是赵玉渊的方子。（《永类钤方》）
噎食不下：将人屎塞入萝卜内，用火炼三炷香的时间，取出研细。每次服三分，黄酒送下，服三次见效。（《海上名方》）
痘疮不起：《儒门事亲》记载：治疗痘疮倒靥，以及灰白下陷。用童子干粪，在新瓦上焙过。每两药粉加入龙脑一分，研匀。每次服半钱至一钱，蜜水调下。四灵无价散：治疗痘疮黑陷，腹胀危重者，此为劫剂。用人粪、猫粪、猪粪、犬粪各等分，腊月初旬收埋在干燥的高处黄土窖内，到腊八日取出，用砂罐盛装，用盐泥密封，炭火烧至烟尽为止。取出研成末，加入少许麝香，研匀，瓷器密封收藏。一岁小儿服一字，两岁半钱，三岁一钱，蜜水调下，须臾间痘疮即起。这是以毒攻毒的方法。用火化处理的，是从治的意义。发背欲死证，烧人屎灰，用醋调和敷贴，干了就换。（《肘后方》）
一切痈肿未溃：用干人屎末、麝香各半钱，研匀，取豆大小，用唾液调匀贴在患处外围，用醋面做成铜钱大小的护圈保护它。脓溃后去掉药物。（寇宗奭《衍义》）
疔肿初起：刮破皮肤，用热的粪便尖端敷贴，干了就换。不超过十五次，病根就会出来立即痊愈。（《千金方》）
九漏有虫：干人屎、干牛屎，隔着一层绵纸贴敷，虫子闻到气味就会出来。如果痒就更换，虫子排尽才停止。（《千金方》）
疳蚀口鼻，唇颊穿孔者：用绵包裹人屎贴敷，必有虫子出来。（《十便良方》）
小儿唇紧：人屎灰敷贴。（崔知悌方）

诸毒猝恶，热闷欲死者：新粪汁，和水服用。或干者烧成末，浸汁饮用。名为破棺汤。（苏恭）
解药箭毒，毒箭有三种：交广地区的夷人用焦铜做箭头，岭北各地用蛇毒刺物汁浸泡箭头，这两种只要伤及皮肉，就会化脓沸腾烂死。如果中了，就饮用汁液并涂抹，这最妙。又一种用射罔煎涂箭头，也适宜用此方。（姚僧坦《集验方》）

**[Names]** Human feces (*Bie Lu*), defecation.
**[Flavor and Nature]** Bitter, cold, non-toxic.
**[Indications]** Treats epidemic high fever with mania and running about; resolves various toxins. Pound into powder, take with boiling water (*Bie Lu*). For Shanghan (Cold Damage) heat toxicity, soak in water and drink; this is even better. Fresh feces applied externally to ding sores (hard, painful skin infections) will cause the root to rot within one day (Su Song).
**Feces Clear Liquid**
**[Names]** Huanglong Tang (Dragon Yellow Decoction) (Tao Hongjing), Huanyuan Shui (Returning Origin Water) (*Shuyuan Ji*), Renzhonghuang. Tao Hongjing said: People near cities plug the mouth of an empty jar, insert it into feces, and accumulate juice over years. It is very black and bitter, named Huanglong Tang, which cures patients dying from plague. Meng Shen said: In the twelfth lunar month, cut light bamboo, remove the green skin, soak to渗 (percolate/extract) the juice. This treats epidemic heat diseases and poisoning, named Fenqing (Feces Clear). Soaked with soap pod and sugarcane to treat epidemic heat diseases, named Renzhonghuang. Zhu Zhenheng said: To make Renzhonghuang, put powdered Licorice Root (Gancao) into a bamboo tube, plug both ends with bamboo or wood, immerse in a fecal pit during winter, retrieve at Start of Spring, hang in a ventilated place to dry in shade, break the bamboo to extract the grass/powder, dry and use. Wang Ji said: Spread yellow earth on brown skin and cotton paper, pour fecal juice to filter through the earth, collect the clear liquid into a new urn, cover with a bowl, and bury in the soil.
**[Indications]** Treats epidemic heat, mania, severe febrile diseases, poisoning, mushroom toxicity, and malignant sores (Meng Shen). Clears heat and dampness toxins, greatly resolves excess heat in the five zang organs. Mixed with rice to make pills, clears phlegm, reduces food stagnation, and descends deficient fire (Zhu Zhenheng).
**[Attached Prescriptions]** Thirteen old prescriptions, twenty new ones.
**Relapse due to exertion or diet:** Burn human feces to ash, take with wine using a Fangcun Bi measure (*Qianjin Fang*).
**Heat disease with mania, running like madness, seeing spirits, long-term lack of sweating, and unconsciousness:** Place Renzhonghuang in a large jar, seal firmly with mud. After half a day, remove fire toxicity, grind to powder. Take 3 qian with fresh well water. If symptoms persist, take again (*Doumen Fang*).
**Severe heat, mania, and thirst:** Grind aged dry human feces into powder. Dig a small pit 5-6 cun deep in clean yellow earth in a shady place. Put 3 liang of spoonfuls of powder into the pit, mix evenly with fresh well water, wait for clarification, and drink slowly to resolve heat. Secularly called Diqing (Earth Clear) (Kou Zongshi *Yanyi*).
**Extreme exhaustion with bone-steaming fever**, also known as Fulian Chuanshi (infectious wasting disease), this prescription is very effective. Use 5 sheng of wet human feces, 1 sheng of urine, 5 sheng of fresh millet rice, and half a cake of yeast made on the sixth day of the sixth lunar month. Store in a porcelain bottle, seal in a closed room. After 27 days, everything dissolves without bad odor. Take 1 he in the morning, and another dose at noon. Divine effect (Zhang Wenzhong *Beiji Fang*).
**Bone-steaming heat consumption:** Take dry human feces, burn until the outside is black, immerse in water to clarify. Take 1 xiao sheng every morning, and 1 xiao sheng of child's urine in the evening. Continue until cured. If taken regularly, dig a pit, burn 2 sheng of feces, soak in 3 sheng of water at night, and gradually reduce dosage. This prescription is miraculous; do not pass it lightly to unworthy people (*Waitai Miyao*).
**Vomiting blood and spitting phlegm:** For those with heart vexation and bone-steaming. Grind Renzhonghuang to powder, take 3 qian per dose, mix evenly with Qian Gen juice (Rubia root juice), Zhuli (bamboo sap), and Jiangzhi (ginger juice), then take (*Danxi Xinfa*).
**Unstoppable epistaxis:** Burn the tip of human feces to ash, take 1-2 qian with water, and blow into the nose (*Qianjin Fang*).
**Dysphagia, regurgitation, ineffective with other medicines:** Real Asafoetida 1 qian, wild dry human feces 3 qian, grind to powder. At fifth watch, eat dipped in ginger slice. Can revive the dead. This is Dr. Zhao Yuyuan's prescription (*Yonglei Qianfang*).
**Choking and inability to swallow:** Insert human feces into a radish, refine by fire for three incense sticks' time, take out and grind. Take 3 fen per dose, wash down with yellow wine. Effective after three doses (*Haishang Mingfang*).
**Acne/varicella not rising:** *Rumen Shiqin* records: Treat inverted acne/varicella and gray-white sinking. Use dry child's feces, roasted on a new tile. Add 1 fen of Longnao (borneol) per 1 liang, grind evenly. Take 0.5-1 qian per dose, mixed with honey water. **Siling Wuji San (Four Spirits Priceless Powder):** Treats black-sunken acne/varicella with abdominal distension and critical condition; this is a drastic remedy. Use equal parts human feces, cat feces, pig feces, and dog feces. Collect in early December, bury in a high, dry yellow earth cellar. Retrieve on Laba Day, store in a clay pot, seal with salt mud, burn with charcoal until smoke ceases. Grind to powder, add a little musk, grind evenly, seal in porcelain. Dosage: One "zi" for one year old, half qian for two years, one qian for three years, mixed with honey water. The lesions rise shortly after. This uses poison to attack poison. Using fire transformation follows the principle of treating contrary. For Faback (back carbuncle) nearing death, burn feces to ash, mix with vinegar and apply; change when dry (*Zhouhou Fang*).
**All abscesses and swellings unruptured:** Mix 0.5 qian each of dry human feces powder and musk. Take bean-sized amount, mix with saliva, apply to the outer edge of the head lesion, protect with vinegar-flour paste shaped like a coin. Remove medicine after pus drains (Kou Zongshi *Yanyi*).
**Early stage ding sore:** Scrape open, apply hot feces tip. Change when dry. Within fifteen applications, the root emerges and heals immediately (*Qianjin*).
**Five-color erysipelas:** Drink 2 he of Huanglong Tang, and apply externally. Good result (*Qianjin Fang*).
**Ji Lou with worms:** Apply dry human feces and dry cow feces separated by cotton. Worms emerge upon smelling the odor. Change if itchy; stop when worms are exhausted (*Qianjin*).
**Gan erosion of mouth/nose, perforation of lips/cheeks:** Wrap human feces in cotton and apply. Worms will definitely emerge (*Shibian Liangfang*).
**Infant tight lips:** Apply human feces ash (Cui Zhiti prescription).
**Postpartum vaginal prolapse:** Stir-fry human feces until red, grind to powder. Take one Fangcun Bi with wine, three times daily (*Qianjin Fang*).
**Ghost licking head sore:** Mix child's feces with lard from the twelfth lunar month and apply (*Qianjin Fang*).
**Metal wound with evisceration:** Dust with dry human feces powder; intestines will re-enter (*Qianjin Fang*).
**Needle wound with unceasing bleeding:** Burn human feces, grind, and apply (*Qianjin Fang*).
**Horse blood entering wound causing swelling/pain:** Take a chicken-egg sized amount of human feces orally, and apply externally (*Qianjin Fang*).
**Venomous snake bite:** Seal thickly with human feces, wrap with silk to dissipate (*Qianjin*).
**Gu poison, hundred poisons, various heat toxins, epidemic heat disease, bleeding from mouth/nose:** Burn seven tips of human feces to ash, mix with water and take in one dose. Cover warmly to induce sweating; cure follows. Do not underestimate this prescription; it is divine and effective (*Waitai Miyao*).
**Sudden severe poisoning, heat oppression nearing death:** Take fresh feces juice mixed with water. Or burn dry feces to powder, steep in water and drink. Named Po Guan Tang (Break Coffin Soup) (Su Gong).
**Resolving poisoned arrow wounds:** There are three types of poisoned arrows: Barbarians in Jiaoguang use scorched copper arrowheads; regions north of the ridges dip arrowheads in juices of venomous snakes biting objects. These two types cause pus and rotting death upon skin penetration. If injured, drink the juice and apply; this is best. Another type uses She Wang (aconite extract) boiled and applied to arrowheads; this prescription is also suitable (Yao Sengtan *Jiyan Fang*).
**Wild gecko/taro toxicity, mountain mushroom poisoning nearing death:** Drink one sheng of feces juice for all; life is saved (*Zhouhou Fang*).
**Rotting meat/protein toxicity:** Burn human feces to ash, take one Fangcun Bi with wine (*Zhouhou Fang*).
**Malignant dog bite:** Seal thickly with Zuopanlong (human feces); heals in several days (Lin Shi Jingyan Fang).
**Sudden acute pain in heart/abdomen nearing death:** Mash human feces with honey, dissolve in fresh well water and take (*Shengsheng Bian*).
