Eliminate pterygium (pterygium) and corneal opacity (corneal opacity) obstructing vision, relieve symptoms of ocular turbidity, dryness, and dull pain; also treat wind-toxin attacking upward, causing fleshy growths invading the eyeball, or sudden onset of redness and swelling pain.
Sheep Gallbladder (one large piece), White Honey (two taels), Apricot Kernel (seven pieces, skin and tip removed, ground), Coptis Rhizome (roots removed, three cun long, pounded and ground).

First, pour the gallbladder juice and honey into a porcelain cup. Then add Coptis Rhizome and Apricot Kernel, soak overnight, filter through fine silk cloth, and then add the remaining drugs. Use two to three layers of paper [to filter/cover].
Treat eye generation of corneal opacity, feeling of turbidity and dryness making it difficult to open the eyes, or sudden onset of red eye with swelling and pain.
Sal Petrosi (two taels), Borax (three qian), Horse Tooth Nitre (one qian), Green Salt (half qian), Calomel (half qian), Borneol (half qian), Musk ([dosage missing in original]).
Grind all ingredients together into an extremely fine powder. Each time, use an amount the size of a millet grain to instill into the eye.
Treat wind-toxic qi rushing against the eyes, causing corneal opacity obstruction, turbidity and dryness making it difficult to open the eyes, or onset of swelling and pain, pterygium invading the eyeball; all these conditions are treated.
Buckthorn Seed (two qian, skin removed and finely ground), Borneol (one qian, separately ground), Apricot Kernel (fourteen pieces, skin and tip removed), Mirabilite (separately ground), Borax ([dosage missing in original]).
First grind Buckthorn Seed and Apricot Kernel finely, then add the other drugs and grind evenly to form a paste. Each time, use an amount approximately the size of a millet grain to instill.
Treat eyes producing cold tears incessantly when exposed to wind.
Use Gallus gallus domesticus var. niger Gallbladder juice, instill into the eyes before going to bed.
Treat red eye with swelling, pain, and ulceration.
Dry Mugwort Leaf (burned to ash and stir-fried, half qian), Coptis Rhizome (roots removed, pounded into fine powder, take half qian).
Place the above ingredients in a new porcelain vessel, soak with boiling water free of oil until the consistency is appropriate. Sink it in fresh water to cool completely. Add one ancient green copper coin and soak for two shichen (four hours).
Treat chronic or acute eye diseases, turbidity and dryness making it difficult to open the eyes, corneal opacity and stasis-related fleshy growths, eyelid redness and ulceration, frequent cold tears, or sudden onset of eye swelling and pain; all these are treated.
Calamine (four liang, crushed), Coptis Rhizome (seven qian, crushed, boiled in one bowl of water for several boils, strain off dregs), Mirabilite (half liang, finely ground).
First, place Calamine powder into a crucible, seal the mouth [and calcine] until the exterior shows a rosy glow; then add Coptis Rhizome and Mirabilite, soak in water, process by levigation (water flying method), and wait until dry.
Green Salt, Chalcanthite, Verdigris (each of the above three herbs half qian), [Drug name missing] (separately ground), Calomel (separately ground), White Stork Dropping (separately ground), Frankincense (separately [ground]).
Grind all the above ingredients into fine powder, mix uniformly with the previously processed drugs. Each time, use a small amount to instill into the eye.
