（河间）山茱斛，麦味菖蒲远志茯。苁蓉桂附巴戟天，少入薄荷姜枣服。〔熟地、山萸
肉、石斛、麦冬、五味、石菖蒲、远志、茯苓、内苁蓉、官桂、附子（炮）、巴戟等分，每
服五钱，加薄荷少许煎。〕 厥风痱能治之，（凡口噤身冷为 厥，四肢不收为风痱。）火归
水中水生木。（熟地以滋根本之肾，桂、附、苁蓉、巴戟以返真元之火，山茱、石斛平胃温
肝，志、苓、菖蒲补心通肾，麦、味保肺以滋水源，水火既交，风火自息矣。刘河间曰∶中
风，非外中之风，良由将息失宜，心火暴甚，肾水虚衰，不能制之，故卒倒无知也。治宜和
脏腑，通经络，便是治风。《医贯》曰∶痰涎上涌者，水不归元也；面赤烦渴者，火不归元
也。惟桂、附能引火归元，火归水中，则水能生木，木不生风，而风自息矣。）
（丹溪）中羌独防，芎归辛桂参夏菖。茯神远志白薇草， （音炽纵）昏愦力能匡。
〔羌活、独活、防风、当归、川芎、细辛、桂心、人参、半夏、菖蒲、茯神、远志、白薇
各五钱，甘草（炙）二钱半，每服一两，加姜、枣煎。肝属风而主筋，故 为肝邪。二活、
防风治风，辛、桂温经，半夏除痰，芎、归和血，血活则风散也。肝移热于心则昏愦。人参
补心气，菖蒲开心窍，茯神、远志安心，白薇退热止风。风静火熄，血活神宁， 自已矣。〕
（刘河间创制的）地黄饮子：由山茱萸、石斛、麦冬、五味子、石菖蒲、远志、茯苓组成。再加入肉苁蓉、官桂、附子、巴戟天，服药时少量加入薄荷、生姜、大枣煎服。〔配方为：熟地黄、山茱萸肉、石斛、麦冬、五味子、石菖蒲、远志、茯苓、肉苁蓉、官桂、炮附子、巴戟天等分。每服五钱，加少许薄荷同煎。〕此方能治疗厥风痱证。（凡口噤不开、身体发冷称为“厥”，四肢不能收持称为“风痱”。）其机理在于引火归元，使水能生木。〔熟地黄用以滋养根本之肾阴，官桂、附子、肉苁蓉、巴戟天用以返还真元之火；山茱萸、石斛平胃气而温肝，远志、茯苓补心气而通肾窍，麦冬、五味子保肺气以滋水源。如此水火既济，风火自然平息。刘河间说：中风，并非外来的风邪所致，确实是因为调养失当，导致心火暴盛，肾水虚衰，不能制约心火，所以突然昏倒无知觉。治疗应当调和脏腑，疏通经络，这就是治风的方法。《医贯》说：痰涎上涌，是水气不归元；面赤烦渴，是火气不归元。只有官桂、附子能引火归元，火归水中，则水能生木，木不化风，风自然平息。〕
（朱丹溪创制的）独活汤：由羌活、独活、防风、川芎、当归、细辛、官桂、人参、半夏、石菖蒲、茯神、远志、白薇、甘草组成。（此方能匡正）昏愦重症。〔配方为：羌活、独活、防风、当归、川芎、细辛、桂心、人参、半夏、石菖蒲、茯神、远志、白薇各五钱，炙甘草二钱半。每服一两，加生姜、大枣同煎。肝属风而主筋，故此类病症为肝邪所致。羌活、独活、防风祛风，细辛、官桂温经，半夏除痰，川芎、当归和血，血行通畅则风邪自散。肝移热于心则出现昏愦。人参补心气，石菖蒲开心窍，茯神、远志安心神，白薇退热止风。风静火熄，血活神宁，昏愦之症自然痊愈。〕
(Liu Hejian's) Dihuang Yinzi (Rehmannia Decoction): Composed of Cornus Officinalis Fructus (Shanzhuyu), Dendrobii Caulis (Shihu), Ophiopogonis Radix (Maidong), Schisandrae Fructus (Wuweizi), Acori Tatarinowii Rhizoma (Shichangpu), Polygalae Radix (Yuanzhi), and Poria (Fuling). Add Cistanche Deserticola (Congrongus), Cinnamomi Cortex (Guizhi), Aconiti Lateralis Radix Praeparata (Fuzi), and Morinda Officinalis Radix (Bajitian). Take with a small amount of Mentha Haplocalyx (Bohe), Zingiberis Rhizoma (Jiang), and Jujubae Fructus (Zao) decocted. [Formula: Prepared Rehmanniae Radix (Shudi), Cornus Officinalis Fructus (Shanyurou), Dendrobii Caulis (Shihu), Ophiopogonis Radix (Maidong), Schisandrae Fructus (Wuwu), Acori Tatarinowii Rhizoma (Shichangpu), Polygalae Radix (Yuanzhi), Poria (Fuling), Cistanche Deserticola (Rongrong), Cinnamomi Cortex (Guizhi), Prepared Aconiti Lateralis Radix (Pao Fuzi), and Morinda Officinalis Radix (Bajitian) in equal parts. Take 5 qian per dose, decocted with a little Mentha Haplocalyx.] This formula treats Jue Fengfei syndrome (Cold-Jue and Wind-Fei). [Jue refers to locked jaw and cold body; Fengfei refers to inability to control the four limbs.] Its mechanism is guiding fire back to its source, allowing water to generate wood. [Prepared Rehmanniae Radix nourishes the root Kidney Yin; Cinnamomi Cortex, Prepared Aconiti Lateralis Radix, Cistanche Deserticola, and Morinda Officinalis Radix return the true Yuan fire; Cornus Officinalis Fructus and Dendrobii Caulis calm the Stomach and warm the Liver; Polygalae Radix and Poria tonify the Heart and unblock the Kidney orifices; Ophiopogonis Radix and Schisandrae Fructus protect the Lung Qi to nourish the water source. Thus, Water and Fire interact harmoniously, and wind-fire naturally subsides. Liu Hejian stated: Stroke is not caused by external wind, but indeed by improper lifestyle management leading to sudden excess of Heart Fire and deficiency of Kidney Water, which fails to control it, causing sudden collapse and loss of consciousness. Treatment should harmonize the Zang-Fu organs and unblock the meridians; this is treating wind. *Yi Guan* states: Phlegm-saliva surging upward indicates Water failing to return to its origin; red face and thirst indicate Fire failing to return to its origin. Only Cinnamomi Cortex and Prepared Aconiti Lateralis Radix can guide fire back to its origin. When fire returns to water, water generates wood; when wood does not generate wind, wind naturally subsides.]
(Zhu Danxi's) Duhuo Tang (Angelica Pubescens Decoction): Composed of Notopterygii Rhizoma et Radix (Qianghuo), Angelicae Pubescentis Radix (Duhuo), Saposhnikoviae Radix (Fangfeng), Chuanxiong Rhizoma (Chuanxiong), Angelicae Sinensis Radix (Danggui), Asari Radix et Rhizoma (Xixin), Cinnamomi Cortex (Guixin), Ginseng Radix (Renshen), Pinelliae Rhizoma (Banxia), Acori Tatarinowii Rhizoma (Shichangpu), Poria cum Wood (Fushen), Polygalae Radix (Yuanzhi), and Anemarrhenae Rhizoma (Baiwei), along with Licorice Root (Gancao). [It can correct] severe confusion and stupor. [Formula: Notopterygii Rhizoma et Radix, Angelicae Pubescentis Radix, Saposhnikoviae Radix, Angelicae Sinensis Radix, Chuanxiong Rhizoma, Asari Radix et Rhizoma, Cinnamomi Cortex, Ginseng Radix, Pinelliae Rhizoma, Acori Tatarinowii Rhizoma, Poria cum Wood, Polygalae Radix, and Anemarrhenae Rhizoma each 5 qian; Roasted Licorice Root 2.5 qian. Take 1 liang per dose, decocted with Zingiberis Rhizoma and Jujubae Fructus.] The Liver belongs to Wind and governs the sinews, so this condition is due to Liver pathogenic factors. Notopterygii Rhizoma et Radix, Angelicae Pubescentis Radix, and Saposhnikoviae Radix dispel wind; Asari Radix et Rhizoma and Cinnamomi Cortex warm the meridians; Pinelliae Rhizoma eliminates phlegm; Chuanxiong Rhizoma and Angelicae Sinensis Radix harmonize the blood; when blood flows freely, wind disperses. Liver heat transferring to the Heart causes confusion. Ginseng Radix tonifies Heart Qi; Acori Tatarinowii Rhizoma opens the Heart orifices; Poria cum Wood and Polygalae Radix calm the Spirit; Anemarrhenae Rhizoma clears heat and stops wind. When wind is still and fire extinguished, blood flows freely and Spirit is tranquil, the confusion resolves itself.
