Bai Zhu (Half tael) Rou Dou Kou (Stir-baked, two pieces) Mu Xiang (Weighing two taels)
The above ingredients are ground into powder. Take two taels of white flour, mix with medicinal water to knead into dough, cut into strips, and boil in water until cooked. Season with a small amount of scallion white, ginger, and salt mixed into juice, and feed according to the child's capacity. Continue to take concurrently with Ji Qing Wan (Chicken Green Pill).

Commentary: Pediatric Gan syndrome (Chronic Malnutrition Syndrome) arises from the transmission of accumulated qi affecting the five zang organs. Regarding Gan syndromes, there are those presenting with heat symptoms due to deficient pulse conditions being excessive; accumulation is the mother of Gan. If accumulation is not treated, it transforms into Gan. Conversely, if treatment fails to eliminate accumulation, the accumulation remains while the zang organs become deficient, leading to Gan transmission and weak pulses. Pathogenic factors transmit through meridians, causing heat syndromes which are particularly severe. Although wind-phlegm may not manifest, the condition remains critical and heavy. The Classic states that Gan heat syndromes present as emaciation, thirst, deficiency vexation, frequent vomiting, and anorexia. The following excellent prescriptions are listed below; administer according to severity, selecting appropriate methods without indulgence or error, carefully weighing benefits and harms.
For treating pediatric Gan heat with deficiency vexation, thirst, anorexia, and heaviness in the four limbs, use the Ren Shen San (Ginseng Powder) good prescription.

Grind the above ingredients equally into fine powder. Take half a tael per dose, decoct Mai Men Dong Tang (Ophiopogon Decoction) to mix and take orally at any time.
For treating pediatric Gan heat persisting for a long time, causing muscle emaciation, haggard appearance, low spirits, and inability to gain weight despite adequate food intake, use this prescription with great efficacy: Shen Miao Xuan Qi Wan (Divine Wonder Qi-Dispersing Pill) good prescription.
