脐带干落，安净瓦上，四围以炭炙之，止令烟尽，勿使成灰，取起以碗覆地上，良久出
炙毒，研极细，每一分加辰砂半分共研，次日以乳汁调敷乳上，令儿食乳，随一日内作二三
次服尽，永不生疮疹，即生亦小。或云∶儿生一十三日服之。未知何说。
产家要诀云∶予尝得方士秘传出胎稀痘小金丹一方，不惟镇心解毒，痘疮必稀，更能
助胃辟邪，断除百病。予曾制而试验矣，方用箭头砂一两五钱，敲如绿豆粒大，以黄连、甘
草各一两，河水五碗，于新砂锅属性武火同煮一日，水于则旋添之，煮讫研末，更煮甘草汤，
飞去黑脚，止取随水过者一两，牛黄三钱，此药市卖多假，须看层相裹轻松而有香气者乃
真，川大黄锦纹者切大片，以粗纸浓裹，于高黄酒内泡湿，略捻成团，埋灰火中煨干，又泡
又煨，如此七次，取出，以纸摊净地上一宿，出火气，研末三钱，灯心白色者以水和浆粉揉湿
晒干，或焙干，急研为极细末，入水再研，加水漂取浮者，晒干，用二钱，粉草去皮研末二钱，
上五味共研匀，炼蜜和剂，分作三十丸，乘湿以金箔为衣，黄蜡为柜，毋令泄气，可以久收
丸。婴儿出胎，未曾吃乳之先，用江西淡豆豉以河水熬，取浓汁少许，用前丸一粒，指研如
稀糊，盛以小杯，坐于汤碗中，不时抹儿口内，既吃乳后，即抹乳上亦可，只用一丸，胎毒尽
从大小便消释而去，真圣药也。但苦牛黄难得真耳，此而不真，虽用弗效矣。
又方云∶小儿能吃食，取冷窑粪水，以头窠鸡子每日投一个在内，七日投完，第八日取
第一个起来，洗净煮熟，与小儿吃，根据次吃完，不特稀痘，竟可不出矣。
脐带干燥脱落后，将其放置在干净的瓦片上，四周用炭火烘烤，只烤到烟气散尽为止，不要使其烧成灰烬。取出后，用碗扣在地上，过一段时间后取出。将炙过的脐带研磨成极细的粉末，每一分（古代重量单位）加入半分辰砂，共同研磨。第二天用乳汁调和涂抹在乳头或乳房上，让婴儿吃奶时随乳汁摄入，一天内分两三次服完，这样婴儿永远不会生疮疹，即使生了也会很轻微。有人说：婴儿出生后十三天服用。不知哪种说法正确。
《产家要诀》记载：我曾经得到一位方士秘传的“出胎稀痘小金丹”一方，不仅能镇心安神、解毒，使痘疮稀少，更能助益脾胃、驱除邪气，断绝各种疾病。我曾亲自制作并试验过此方。处方使用箭头砂一两五钱，敲碎如绿豆大小，用黄连、甘草各一两，河水五碗，在新砂锅中用武火同煮一天，水少了就随时添加。煮完后研成粉末，再用甘草汤煮一次，滤去底部的黑色沉淀物，只取中间悬浮部分的一两。牛黄三钱，市面上卖的牛黄多假，必须看其层层包裹、质地轻松且有香气者才是真品。川大黄选用有锦纹的，切成大片，用粗纸紧紧包裹，在高黄酒中浸泡湿润，略捏成团，埋在灰火中煨干，再泡再煨，如此反复七次。取出后，摊在干净的地上铺纸过夜，以去除火气，研成粉末三钱。灯心草选白色的，用水和浆粉揉湿后晒干，或者焙干，急火研磨成极细粉末，入水再次研磨，加水漂洗取浮在上层的粉末，晒干后用二钱。粉草（甘草）去皮研末二钱。以上五味药共同研磨均匀，用炼蜜调和制成丸剂，分成三十丸，趁湿用金箔包裹表面，用黄蜡密封保存，防止漏气，可以长期收藏。婴儿出生，尚未吃奶之前，用江西产的淡豆豉加河水熬煮，取少许浓汁，用前文所述的一丸药，用手指研磨成稀糊状，盛在小杯中，放在热水碗中保温，不时涂抹在婴儿口中。既然吃了奶后，也可以涂抹在乳头上。只用一丸药，胎毒就会完全通过大小便排泄出去，真是圣药啊。只是苦于很难得到真正的牛黄，如果牛黄不真，虽然使用了也没有效果。
又一方说：小儿能吃食物时，取冷窑中的粪水，每天将一个头窠鸡蛋投入其中，七天投完。第八天取出第一个投入的鸡蛋，洗净煮熟，给小儿吃，根据次序吃完，不仅能使痘疮稀少，甚至可以不出痘。
After the umbilical cord dries and falls off, place it on a clean tile. Roast it with charcoal around the perimeter until the smoke is exhausted, but do not let it turn to ash. Take it out, cover it with a bowl placed on the ground, wait for a while, then retrieve it. Roast the toxic elements (from the cord), grind it into an extremely fine powder. For every one fen (a traditional unit of weight) of this powder, add half a fen of Cinnabar (Zhusha, 辰砂) and grind them together thoroughly. The next day, mix with breast milk and apply to the nipple or breast, allowing the infant to ingest it while nursing. Administer completely within one day in two or three doses. This will prevent the infant from ever developing smallpox or chickenpox; if they do occur, they will be mild. Some say it should be administered on the thirteenth day after birth. It is unclear which theory is correct.
The *Midwife's Essential Guide* states: I once obtained a secret prescription from a Daoist practitioner called "Small Golden Pill for Reducing Smallpox After Birth" (Chutai Xidou Xiao Jindan). Not only does it calm the heart and detoxify, ensuring sparse smallpox lesions, but it also strengthens the stomach and wards off evil pathogens, eliminating various diseases. I have personally prepared and tested it. The formula uses Arrowhead Sand (Jiantousha, 箭头砂) one tael and five qian, crushed to the size of mung beans. Boil with Coptis Rhizome (Huanglian, 黄连) and Licorice Root (Gancao, 甘草), each one tael, in five bowls of river water in a new clay pot over high heat for one day. Add water as needed during boiling. After boiling, grind into powder. Then boil again with Licorice Decoction, discard the black sediment at the bottom, and collect only the middle suspension weighing one tael. Use Buffalo Calculus (Niuhuang, 牛黄) three qian. Most Buffalo Calculus sold in markets is fake; genuine ones are layered, light in texture, and fragrant. Use Sichuan Rhubarb (Dahuang, 大黄) with brocade patterns, cut into large slices. Wrap tightly in coarse paper, soak in high-proof yellow wine until wet, slightly knead into a ball, and bury in ash fire to roast dry. Repeat soaking and roasting seven times. Take out, spread on clean paper on the ground overnight to remove fire qi, then grind into powder (three qian). Select white Juncus Effusus (Dengxincao, 灯心草), moisten with water and starch paste, dry in sun or bake, grind urgently into extremely fine powder. Mix with water, grind again, add water, float and collect the upper layer, dry in sun, and use two qian. Peel and grind Powdered Licorice (Fengcao, 粉草) into powder (two qian). Grind these five ingredients uniformly. Bind with refined honey to form pills, divide into thirty pills. While still wet, coat with Gold Leaf (Jinbo, 金箔). Seal in beeswax containers to prevent leakage, allowing long-term storage. Before the infant begins nursing, decoct Jiangxi Light Fermented Soybean (Danshichu, 淡豆豉) in river water to obtain a small amount of concentrated juice. Take one pill mentioned above, grind with finger into a thin paste, place in a small cup, and keep warm in a bowl of hot water. Occasionally smear inside the infant's mouth. After nursing, it can also be applied to the nipple. Using just one pill, fetal toxins will be completely eliminated through urination and defecation. Truly a miraculous medicine. However, it is difficult to obtain genuine Buffalo Calculus. If the Buffalo Calculus is not genuine, even if used, it will be ineffective.
Another prescription states: When the child can eat solid food, take fecal water from a cold kiln. Drop one first-laid hen egg into it daily for seven days. On the eighth day, retrieve the first egg put in, wash it clean, cook it thoroughly, and feed it to the child. Finish eating according to the sequence. This not only reduces the severity of smallpox but can potentially prevent it entirely.
