白动痰，赤破血。治大、小便不通，化虫，去寒热，能通血脉，逐瘀血，但不可多食，恐耗

苋菜，味甘，性冷。无毒。青色，分气，除热利窍。赤者治痢，产妇食之易产。紫苋解
毒。诸苋利大、小肠之热结。凡脾胃虚弱者忌食。

配方一：牛膝（二钱），杜仲（二钱，用盐水炒制），夏枯草（一钱），香附（一钱，用童便炙烤），固脂（即补骨脂，一钱，用盐水炒制），核桃仁（两个，捣烂）。用水煎煮，服用时加入黄酒点服。
配方二：牛膝、当归、川芎、白芷、五味子、生地黄、皂角刺。以上每味药材各一钱五分，配合土茯苓（二两）煎煮成两碗汤剂，将上述药材放入汤中煎煮后服用，服用数次即可痊愈。
苋菜，家中菜园种植，分为红色和白色两种。味道咸，药性微温。白色苋菜入气分，红色苋菜入血分。白色苋菜能推动痰液排出，红色苋菜能破除瘀血。治疗大、小便不通畅，化解虫积，去除寒热症状，能够疏通血脉，驱逐瘀血。但不宜多食，恐怕会耗散胃气，忌与鳖肉同食。
苋菜，味道甘甜，药性寒冷。无毒。青色苋菜分消气滞，清除热邪并通利窍道。红色苋菜治疗痢疾，产妇食用有助于顺产。紫色苋菜能解毒。各种苋菜都能清利大肠和小肠的热结。凡是脾胃虚弱的人忌食。

Achyranthes root (Niuxi), also known as Iron Achyranthes, is identified by its green leaves with white fibrous veins. It tastes sour and slightly pungent, and its nature is slightly warm. It enters the Liver Meridian, circulates through the meridians, stops pain in the sinews and bones, strengthens and relaxes the sinews, relieves soreness and numbness of the waist and knees, breaks up blood stasis, induces abortion, dissipates tubercles, and treats scrofula (Luo Li), carbuncles and sores (Yong Ju), scabies and leprosy-like skin diseases, blood wind sores, psoriasis, pustular eczema, sinusitis (Bi Yuan), chronic rhinitis with purulent discharge (Nao Lou), and other conditions.
Formula 1: Achyranthes root (2 qian), Eucommia bark (2 qian, stir-fried with salt water), Prunella spike (1 qian), Cyperi Rhizoma (1 qian, processed with child's urine), Psoralea fruit (Guzhi, 1 qian, stir-fried with salt water), Walnut kernel (2 pieces, pounded into a paste). Decoct in water, take with a splash of yellow wine.
Formula 2: Achyranthes root, Angelica sinensis, Ligusticum chuanxiong, Angelica dahurica, Schisandra chinensis, Rehmannia glutinosa (raw), Gleditsia sinensis thorn. Each of the above herbs is used at 1.5 qian. Combine with Smilax glabra rhizome (Tu Fuling, 2 liang), decoct to yield two bowls of liquid, add the aforementioned herbs, decoct again, and take orally. Recovery occurs after several doses.
Amaranth vegetable (Xiancai), cultivated in home gardens, comes in red and white varieties. It tastes salty and its nature is slightly warm. The white variety enters the Qi level, while the red variety enters the Blood level. White amaranth promotes the movement of phlegm, and red amaranth breaks up blood stasis. It treats constipation and urinary retention, eliminates parasites, resolves alternating chills and fever, unifies the blood vessels, and drives out blood stasis. However, it should not be consumed in excess, as it may deplete Stomach Qi. It is contraindicated to consume it together with turtle meat.
Amaranth vegetable, tastes sweet, nature is cold. Non-toxic. Green amaranth disperses Qi stagnation, clears heat, and opens orifices. Red amaranth treats dysentery; consumption by pregnant women facilitates childbirth. Purple amaranth detoxifies. All types of amaranth clear heat accumulation in the Large Intestine and Small Intestine. Those with weak Spleen and Stomach are advised to avoid eating it.

Amaranth vegetable (referring to the previously mentioned cultivated amaranth), efficacy is the same as white amaranth.
Wild amaranth, tastes salty, nature is slightly warm. White wild amaranth dispels phlegm accumulation in the Lungs; red wild amaranth breaks up blood accumulation in the intestines and stomach. Used together, they eliminate hair accumulations in the abdomen, dissipate parasitic accumulation, kill tapeworms (Cun Bai Chong), direct Qi downward, and reduce distension. Washing with it treats pruritus and migratory wind rashes on the skin.
