(Do not use persimmons that have been dried by fire or sun while still green; collect them in containers to ripen naturally until red and ripe. The astringent taste will be completely gone, leaving sweetness. Do not consume with crabs, as it causes diarrhea; only drinking powdered *Muxiang* (Aucklandiae Radix) juice can resolve this toxicity.)
(Use large persimmons, remove the skin, rub thoroughly, expose to day sun and night dew until dry, place in an earthenware jar, wait for white frost to form on the surface, then take out. Those sold in the market are often counterfeit and unsuitable for medicinal use.)
(This refers to *Biqi* (Dioscorea esculenta / Water Chestnut), which can eliminate miasma.)
(When using *Taoren* (Persicae Semen / Peach Kernel), weigh after harvesting: one wet leaf weighs one liang, three dry leaves weigh one liang, indicating sufficient Qi potency for use. Wipe off the fuzz with coarse cloth until clean, wash once with *Gancao* (Glycyrrhizae Radix et Rhizoma) decoction, then wipe extremely clean with cotton cloth. For every one liang of *Taoren*, roast with one fen of su (animal fat/butter) until the su is exhausted. If treating lung diseases, coat with honey water before roasting; if treating stomach diseases, coat with ginger juice before roasting. This herb treats coughing; if the fuzz is not completely removed, it may induce coughing.)
(Squeeze the juice and drink it; it is most suitable for relieving thirst, resolving alcohol intoxication, and treating sha rash.)
(Harvest in the seventh month, remove the skin tips and double-kernel ones, stir-fry with bran, and grind into a paste, or burn to retain its properties. This is an essential herb for breaking blood stasis and promoting blood circulation. Leigong's processing method: boil *Taoren* together with *Baizhu* (Atractylodis Macrocephalae Rhizoma) and *Wudou* (Sojae Semen Praeparatum) in a cauldron for one fu period (approx. two hours), then strain and split by hand into two pieces. The kernel heart should be golden yellow; use as needed. For promoting blood circulation, use raw with skin and tips; *Xiangfu* (Cyperi Rhizoma) acts as its guiding herb.)
(Harvest on the third day of the third lunar month, dry in shade. Do not use dried leaves, as they may cause persistent epistaxis and yellow eyes. When using, select cleanly, store in a silk bag, hang under the eaves to dry, remove dust, and use.)
(These are seeds from thousand-petal peach blossoms that remain on the tree without falling. Harvest in the eleventh month, or some say the first month; those that are solid inside are superior. For processing, mix with wine, steam from Si hour to Wei hour, bake dry, slice with a copper knife, bake again, and use the flesh. Another method is to crush and stir-fry. If used for stopping bleeding, char black and retain properties.)
(Harvest in the fifth month, soak in hot water, remove skin tips and double-kernel ones, stir-fry with bran, and grind. In formulas treating wind-cold lung diseases, some use them with skin and tips to utilize their dispersing properties.)
(Eliminate phlegm-heat by adding *Niuhuang* (Calculus Bovis); treat pediatric wind-disease with surging phlegm, showing miraculous effects. Resolve heat toxins; long-term use prevents carbuncles and sores.)
(In case of *Hetun* (Pufferfish) poisoning, boil the juice and drink, or chew raw.)
(Moisten with water, steam, remove pits, and use the clean flesh.)
(For processing, wash with water, discard floating impurities, drain and dry the sinking ones. Mix with wine, steam from Si hour to Hai hour, spread out and dry. Pound in a mortar until the coarse skin layer is completely removed. Stir-fry with adzuki beans until the beans are cooked, then remove the beans and use. Improper steaming may cause hair loss. It is compatible with *Fuling* (Poria).)
