火嗽必用之药） 阿胶（蛤粉炒，成珠，一钱，止肺痿唾血） 桔梗（一钱，清气，利咽喉为
肺部引经药也） 甘草（五分，治肺痿脓血） 防己（一钱，治肺痿脓血） 茯苓（去皮，一钱，
消痰） 淡竹茹（一团，清金止烦，消痰解热） 王瓜子（炒，一钱，清肺热，消脓血） 栝蒌
仁（炒，一钱，润化痰，止咳）
上十四味作一剂，水煎服，临服入竹沥、童便。
治阴虚久咳，肺痿脓血，骨蒸盗汗，梦遗等证，脉来芤而虚大，或濡缓有力者，宜此主

人参（选用高丽参，五分，消除痰湿，治疗肺痿，久咳咯血） 天门冬（去除心部，一钱，治疗肺痿，咳吐涎沫） 款冬花（八分，治疗劳嗽及肺痿） 麦门冬（去除心部，一钱，清润肺脏止咳） 五味子（二十粒，清泄肺金并益肾，收敛肺气） 栝蒌仁（炒制，一钱，治疗风痰） 沙参（一钱，清热，治疗肺痿） 蛤蚧（一钱，治疗劳嗽，肺痿咯吐脓血，以及传尸骨蒸等症） 阿胶（炒制，一钱，补益肺气，止咳嗽，消除脓血） 知母（用蜂蜜炒制，一钱） 贝母（消除痰湿止咳，治疗肺痿，一钱） 黄明胶（炒制，一钱，补益肺气，止咳嗽，消除脓血） 黄芩（用蜂蜜炒制，一钱，治疗肺痿咳嗽发热） 甘草（五分，治疗肺痿，吐脓血）
以上十四味药为一剂，用水煎煮，饭后服用。
For treating Fei Wei (Lung Atrophy), characterized by chronic cough, expectoration of pus and blood, alternating chills and fever, spontaneous sweating, with a pulse that is wiry, long, tight, solid, and forceful.
Zhimu (Anemarrhenae Rhizoma, peeled, honey-fried, 1 qian; clears Lung heat, benefits Lung Qi, descends fire, nourishes Yin, specifically for chronic cough and Fei Wei) Huangqin (Scutellariae Radix, honey-fried, 1 qian; primarily treats Fei Wei cough, expectoration of pus and blood, and foul odor in the throat) Maimendong (Ophiopogonis Radix, 1 qian; clears and moistens the Lung, treats coughing up of pus and blood) Tianmendong (Asparagi Radix, core removed, 1 qian; protects Lung Qi from heat disturbance, calms asthma and rapid breathing to clear the Qi) Shashen (Glehniae Radix, 1 qian; clears heat, treats chronic Fei Wei) Wuweizi (Schisandrae Fructus, 20 grains; nourishes Kidney Water to astringe Lung Qi, an essential herb for clearing Lung Fire in cough) Ejiao (Donkey-hide Gelatin, fried with clam powder until pearl-like, 1 qian; stops hemoptysis due to Fei Wei) Jiegeng (Platycodonis Radix, 1 qian; clears Qi, benefits the throat, serves as a guiding herb for Lung diseases) Gancao (Glycyrrhizae Radix et Rhizoma, 0.5 qian; treats Fei Wei with expectoration of pus and blood) Fangji (Stephaniae Tetrandrae Radix, 1 qian; treats Fei Wei with expectoration of pus and blood) Fuling (Poria, peeled, 1 qian; eliminates phlegm) Danzhuru (Bambusae Caulis in Taenia, one piece; clears Lung heat to stop irritability, eliminates phlegm and resolves heat) Wangguazi (Benincasae Semen, fried, 1 qian; clears Lung heat, eliminates pus and blood) Gualouren (Trichosanthis Semen, fried, 1 qian; moistens and transforms phlegm, stops cough).
The above fourteen herbs constitute one dose. Decoct in water and take orally. Just before administration, add Zhuli (Bambusae Sap) and Tongbian (Urine of healthy child).
For treating chronic cough due to Yin deficiency, Fei Wei with expectoration of pus and blood, bone-steaming tidal fever, night sweats, seminal emission, etc., where the pulse is hollow (Kou) and vacuously large, or soft and slow yet forceful, this main formula is suitable:
Renshen (Panax Ginseng, preferably Korean Ginseng, 0.5 qian; eliminates phlegm, treats Fei Wei, chronic cough with hemoptysis) Tianmendong (Asparagi Radix, core removed, 1 qian; treats Fei Wei, expectoration of saliva) Kundonghua (Asteris Flos, 0.8 fen; treats labor-induced cough and Fei Wei) Maimendong (Ophiopogonis Radix, core removed, 1 qian; clears Lung heat and stops cough) Wuweizi (Schisandrae Fructus, 20 grains; clears Lung Metal and benefits Kidney, astringes Lung Qi) Gualouren (Trichosanthis Semen, fried, 1 qian; treats wind-phlegm) Shashen (Glehniae Radix, 1 qian; clears heat, treats Fei Wei) Gejie (Geckus, 1 qian; treats labor-induced cough, Fei Wei with pus and blood, and Chuan Shi Gu Zheng [consumptive disease with bone-steaming]) Ejiao (Donkey-hide Gelatin, fried, 1 qian; tonifies Lung Qi, stops cough, eliminates pus and blood) Zhimu (Anemarrhenae Rhizoma, honey-fried, 1 qian) Beimu (Fritillariae Bulbus; eliminates phlegm, stops cough, treats Fei Wei, 1 qian) Huangmingjiao (Huangming Gelatin, fried, 1 qian; tonifies Lung Qi, stops cough, eliminates pus and blood) Huangqin (Scutellariae Radix, honey-fried, 1 qian; treats Fei Wei cough with heat) Gancao (Glycyrrhizae Radix et Rhizoma, 0.5 qian; treats Fei Wei, expectoration of pus and blood).
The above fourteen herbs constitute one dose. Decoct in water and take after meals.
