[Song on Hunjing (Corneal Opacity)]
At the onset of Hunjing, the Baijing (sclera and bulbar conjunctiva) becomes turbid, gradually developing red vessels that obscure the pupil. Alternatively, a turbid white membrane may spread over the entire eyeball. Turbidity in the white area should not present as smooth like moss, while red vessels should not appear scattered outward; symptoms include itching preceding pain, accompanied by a dull, gritty sensation and tearing. This is caused by toxic wind affecting the Liver. It is advisable to first wash with a cleansing solution, then administer a decoction containing Sheng Di Huang (Rehmanniae Radix), Shu Di Huang (Rehmanniae Radix Preparata), Ji Li (Tribuli Fructus), Dang Gui (Angelicae Sinensis Radix), Gan Cao (Glycyrrhizae Radix et Rhizoma), Huang Lian (Coptidis Rhizoma), Mu Zei (Equiseti Herba), Wu Xi Jiao (Rhinocerotis Cornu), Qiang Huo (Notopterygii Rhizoma et Radix), Yuan Shen (Scrophulariae Radix), Da Huang (Rhei Radix et Rhizoma), and Gu Jing Cao (Pollen Elatostomatis).

In the condition of Hunjing, initially the Baijing is turbid and reddish, with red vessels gradually growing to cover and spread over the Wujing (cornea). The color may be uniformly white or red across the entire eyeball. White turbidity should not be smooth like moss, and red vessels should not scatter outward. At onset, there is itching followed by pain, gradually leading to a gritty sensation, tearing, photophobia, dull pain, and blurred vision. This is caused by toxic wind of the Liver and congealed blood stasis rising upward. Treatment should first involve washing to remove stasis, followed by administering Dihuang San (Rehmannia Powder), and externally applying Mo Zhang Ling Guang Gao (Barrier-Removing Spirit Light Ointment).

[Song on Globe Rupture by Trauma]
When the globe is ruptured by an object, it causes distending pain in the eye, swelling and closure of the eyelids with cyanosis. Washing with a cleansing solution is beneficial. Externally apply Sheng Di Huang San (or related topical preparation); internally administer a formula containing Chuan Xiong (Ligustici Chuanxiong Rhizoma), Sheng Di Huang (Rehmanniae Radix), Ling Yang Jiao (Capricornus Saigae Tataricae Cornu), Da Huang (Rhei Radix et Rhizoma), Chi Shao Yao (Paeoniae Radix Rubra), Zhi Ke (Aurantii Fructus), and Mu Xiang (Aucklandiae Radix).
