方用夏枯草更妙。

共末，每三钱，水二钟，煎一盅，食远热服。

姜三片，水煎服。
大便滑，去大黄、芒硝，加泽泻∶有汗，去麻黄，
加桂枝；咳嗽，加桑白皮、杏仁；痰多，加栝蒌、贝
母；两胁疼，加柴胡、青皮；食少，加陈皮、茯苓；
身热加羌活；脚腿疼，加防己、木香；脾虚，倍加白
术，去石膏。

共研为末，每次取三钱，用水两钟，煎至一盅，饭后稍久趁热服用。
（突发眼睛红肿疼痛，白睛有血斑，甚至瘀血包裹眼球。）

生姜三片，加水煎煮服用。
若大便通畅，去掉大黄、芒硝，加入泽泻；若有汗出，去掉麻黄，加入桂枝；若有咳嗽，加入桑白皮、杏仁；若痰多，加入栝蒌、贝母；若两胁疼痛，加入柴胡、青皮；若食欲减退，加入陈皮、茯苓；若身体发热，加入羌活；若脚腿疼痛，加入防己、木香；若脾虚，加倍使用白术，去掉石膏。
(Throat is unclean, with fire qi flaring upward.)
Platycodonis Radix (Jiegeng) (2 qian), Gardeniae Fructus (Shanzhi) (stir-fried), Scutellariae Radix (Huangqin), Morus Albae Cortex (Sangbaipi), Glycyrrhizae Radix et Rhizoma (Gancao), Peucedani Radix (Qianhu).
Anemarrhenae Rhizoma (Zhimu), Fritillariae Bulbus (Beimu) (each 1 qian), Tangerine Peel (Chenpi), Pinelliae Rhizoma (Banxia) (each 8 fen).
Decoct in water and take after meals.
(Eye pain is severe at night.)
Cyperi Rhizoma (Xiangfu mi) (soaked in urine of young boys and stir-fried, 6 qian), Ecliptae Herba (Hanliancao) (5 qian), Angelicae Sinensis Radix (Danggui) (2 qian).
Another prescription uses Prunellae Spica (Xiakucao), which is even better.
Decoct in water and take.
(Much eye discharge, tightness and astringency with photophobia, red meridians penetrating the eyeball, constipation of the zang-fu organs.)
Atractylodis Macrocephalae Rhizoma (Baizhu), Gypsum Fibrosum (Shigao) ( ), Chuanxiong Rhizoma (Chuanxiong), Saposhnikoviae Radix (Fangfeng), Platycodonis Radix (Jiegeng), Talcum (Huashi) (each 3 qian).
Peucedani Radix (Qianhu), Paeoniae Radix Rubra (Chishao), Schizonepetae Spica (Jingjiesui), Menthae Haplocalycis Herba (Subohe), Glycyrrhizae Radix et Rhizoma (Gancao) (each 2.25 qian).
Bupleuri Radix (Chaihu), Scutellariae Radix (Huangqin), Anemarrhenae Rhizoma (Zhimu), Gardeniae Semen (Shanzhiren), Notopterygii Rhizoma et Radix (Qianghuo) (each 2 qian), Mirabilite (Mangxiao) (3.5 qian), Rheum Palmatum Radix et Rhizoma (Dahuang) (4 qian).
Grind into powder. Take 3 qian each time, decoct in two zhong of water until one zhong remains, and take hot long after meals.
(Sudden redness, swelling, and pain of the eyes, blood patches on the sclera, even to the point where blood stasis wraps around the eyeball.)
Saposhnikoviae Radix (Fangfeng), Schizonepetae Spica (Jingjie), Menthae Haplocalycis Herba (Bohe), Platycodonis Radix (Jiegeng), Ephedrae Herba (Mahuang), Scutellariae Radix (Huangqin), Gardeniae Fructus (Shanzhi).
Forsythiae Fructus (Lianqiao), Angelicae Sinensis Radix (Danggui), Mirabilite (Mangxiao), Rheum Palmatum Radix et Rhizoma (Dahuang), Paeoniae Radix Rubra (Chishao), Talcum (Huashi), Gypsum Fibrosum (Shigao) (each 1 qian), Chuanxiong Rhizoma (Chuanxiong), Glycyrrhizae Radix et Rhizoma (Gancao) (each 0.5 qian), Atractylodis Macrocephalae Rhizoma (Baizhu) (0.8 fen).
Add three slices of Zingiberis Rhizoma Recens (Shengjiang), decoct in water and take.
If stool is loose, remove Rheum Palmatum Radix et Rhizoma (Dahuang) and Mirabilite (Mangxiao), add Alismatis Rhizoma (Zexie); if sweating, remove Ephedrae Herba (Mahuang), add Cinnamomi Ramulus (Guizhi); if coughing, add Morus Albae Cortex (Sangbaipi) and Armeniacae Semen Amarum (Xingren); if excessive phlegm, add Trichosanthis Fructus (Gualou) and Fritillariae Bulbus (Beimu); if pain in both hypochondria, add Bupleuri Radix (Chaihu) and Citri Reticulatae Pericarpium Viride (Qingpi); if poor appetite, add Tangerine Peel (Chenpi) and Polyporus (Fuling); if feverish, add Notopterygii Rhizoma et Radix (Qianghuo); if leg pain, add Spatholobi Caulis (Fangji) and Aucklandiae Radix (Muxiang); if spleen deficiency, double the dose of Atractylodis Macrocephalae Rhizoma (Baizhu) and remove Gypsum Fibrosum (Shigao).
(Ocular symptoms in obese individuals are due to wind-heat.)
