[Wuge Kuangzhong San (Five Obstructions Widening the Middle Powder)]
Take Xiangfu Zi (Cyperi Rhizoma), stir-fry and remove hairs; Houpo (Magnoliae Officinalis Cortex), remove bark and stir-fry with ginger juice (each 16 liang); Gancao (Glycyrrhizae Radix et Rhizoma) (5 liang); Sharen (Amomi Fructus), Dingxiang (Caryophylli Flos), Qingpi (Citri Reticulatae Pericarpium Viride), Chenpi (Citri Reticulatae Pericarpium) (each 4 liang); Muxiang (Aucklandiae Radix) (3 liang); Baidoukou (Cardamomi Fructus), remove skin (2 liang). This formula treats illnesses caused by worry and indignation disturbing Qi, damaging the spirit, leading to Yin-Yang imbalance and organ dysfunction, where pathogenic factors knot in the chest and diaphragm, resulting in the "Five Obstructions" disease:
First is Youge (Worry Obstruction): Qi knots in the chest, fluids fail to circulate, difficulty swallowing food, emaciation, and shortness of breath.
Second is Huige (Indignation Obstruction): Fullness and hardness below the heart, frequent belching with acid regurgitation, indigestion, and obstruction of urination and defecation.
Third is Qige (Qi Obstruction): Rebellious Qi causing fullness in the chest and hypochondrium, choking sensation, belching with the smell of rotten food.
Fourth is Hange (Cold Obstruction): Abdominal distension and fullness, coughing with rebellious Qi, cold pain around the umbilicus resembling thunder rumbling, inability to eat fatty foods.
Fifth is Regge (Heat Obstruction): Heat in the five centers, oral ulcers, heavy and irritable limbs, dry lips and mouth, intermittent body heat, lower back and back pain, Bi syndrome radiating to both sides, inability to eat much.
It treats all these conditions as well as all Qi disorders. In the Ming Dynasty medical text *Mingyi Zazhu*, it is recorded as "Muxiang Kuangzhong Wan". Xue Lizhai stated: For syndromes of Spleen and Stomach deficiency, this formula should not be taken in excess; it should be taken concurrently with Liujunzi Tang (Six Gentlemen Decoction).

Take one pill per dose, dissolved in boiling water or warm wine. It treats sudden collapse from evil pathogens, cholera with vomiting and diarrhea, cramping abdominal pain, ghostly infestations, epilepsy, palpitations, or injuries from falls causing Qi stagnation and near-syncope.
