First Prescription: Take *Pseudocoptis Fructus* (Gu Zhi, 10 liang), select it clean, remove the husk, wash it, sun-dry it, crush it, and sieve it into fine powder. Take Walnut Kernel (Tao Ren, 20 liang), soak it in hot water to remove the skin, grind it finely until it becomes like paste. Then mix it with honey until it reaches the consistency of maltose syrup, and store it in a porcelain vessel. In the morning, mix one spoonful of the medicine with two he of warm wine and take it; immediately eat rice to suppress the medicinal effect. If not drinking wine, mix it with warm boiled water. Avoid consuming Brassica rapa var. parachinensis (You Cai). This prescription treats conditions where Yang Qi is exhausted and various diseases arise. Long-term use can prolong life, benefit Qi, soothe the heart, improve vision, and strengthen bones and sinews. This was transmitted from Li Mohe, a shipowner from Heling Kingdom, by a Tang Dynasty Chancellor.
*Pseudocoptis Fructus* is acrid and warm, belonging to Fire. It has the function of consolidating and calming the Spirit, allowing the Fire of the Pericardium to communicate with the Fire of the Mingmen (Gate of Life), thereby strengthening Yuan Yang and solidifying the marrow, acting astringently to treat leakage. Walnut Kernel is sweet and warm, belonging to Wood. It moistens dryness and nourishes Blood. Since Blood belongs to Yin and dislikes dryness, oily substances are used to moisten it. Assisting *Pseudocoptis Fructus*, this creates the wonderful interaction of Wood generating Fire. Hence the proverb says: "*Pseudocoptis Fructus* without Walnut Kernel is like shrimp without its mother [water jellyfish]."
Second Prescription: Use Psoraleae Fructus (Bu Gu Zhi, 4 liang, stir-fried until fragrant), Cuscutae Semen (Tu Si Zi, 4 liang, steamed with wine), Walnut Kernel (Tao Ren Rou, 1 liang, peeled), Frankincense (Ru Xiang), Myrrh (Mo Yao), and Agarwood (Chen Xiang) (each ground into fine powder, 2 qian 5 fen). Mix with refined honey to make pills the size of mulberry seeds. Take 20-30 pills each time on an empty stomach, washed down with salt water or warm wine. Start taking from Summer Solstice until Winter Solstice, once daily. It treats deficiency and decline of the Lower Origin, night sweats during sleep, and symptoms caused by excessive sexual indulgence. This medicine strengthens bones and sinews and benefits Yuan Qi. The formula was obtained by Grand Commandant Zhang Shou when he served as Governor of Guangzhou during the reign of Emperor Xuanzong of Tang, from foreign merchants.
Third Prescription: Use *Pseudocoptis Fructus* (stir-fried, 2 liang) and Poria (Fu Ling, 1 liang), grind them into fine powder. Take Myrrh (Mo Yao, 5 qian), soak it in pure wine (wine level one finger-width above the herbs), boil until dissolved, then mix with the aforementioned powder to make pills the size of mulberry seeds. Take 30 pills each time, washed down with plain boiled water. Some people took this prescription until old age without declining in health. This is likely because *Pseudocoptis Fructus* tonifies the Kidney, Poria tonifies the Heart, and Myrrh nourishes Blood. Once these three are strengthened, the body naturally remains secure.
Fourth Prescription: Use *Pseudocoptis Fructus* (soaked in wine and stir-fried, 10 liang), Cistanche Stem (Rou Cong Rong, cleaned and baked dry), Morinda Root (Zi Ba Ji, heart removed), and Trigonella Foenum-graecum Seed (Hu Lu Ba, stir-fried) (each 1 jin), Halite (Wu Bei Zi) and Poria (Fu Ling) (each 8 liang), Dragon Bone (Long Gu) and Cinnabar (Zhu Sha) (each 3 liang). Grind all into fine powder, mix with wine paste to make pills the size of mulberry seeds. Take 20 pills each time before meals on an empty stomach, washed down with warm wine or salt water. It treats deficiency-cold of the Original Viscera, reduced appetite, absent-mindedness and forgetfulness, shortness of breath and fatigue, frequent strange dreams at night, palpitations and night sweats, slippery and frequent urination, spermatorrhea, and leukorrhea.
