Lü Zu (Immortal Lü) points out that chronic illnesses in humans cannot be measured merely by years or months. For instance, Wei Syndrome (Flaccidity Syndrome) and Jing Syndrome (Spasm Syndrome) are such diseases. Wei Syndrome inevitably involves being confined to bed for a long time without the ability to rise immediately, treating only the knee...
*Shishi Milu* (Secret Records of the Stone Chamber) discusses the subtlety of this formula, which lies entirely in not directly treating the Yangming Meridian but instead directly treating the Kidney Meridian, replenishing its deficiency. Once Kidney Water is abundant, Stomach Fire naturally subsides.
Hu Zhenren (Perfected Person Hu) says: Excellent. The treatment method applies not only to Wei Syndrome and Jing Syndrome; conditions such as lower back pain, spinal bone pain accompanied by sore and weak legs, and fleshy growths in both eyes mentioned in *Shishi Milu* are also applicable...
Poria 1 qian, Cinnamon Twig 3 fen, Atractylodes Macrocephala Rhizome 5 qian, Licorice Root 5 fen, Chinese Yam 3 qian, White Mustard Seed 1 qian. Decoct in water and take orally.
This formula in *Shishi Milu* is the most exquisite; it enters the Kidney and eliminates dampness, and taking it for a longer duration yields better results. For early-stage lower back pain, three to four doses can cure it. If the condition persists for years, non-taking one dose...
Spinal pain is caused by the depletion of Kidney Water, which fails to moisten the brain marrow upwards. The pathway to the brain becomes dry and difficult to traverse, thus causing pain. One or two doses may not show immediate effects; it is necessary...
Cornus Officinalis Fruit...
*Shishi Milu* states that this formula tonifies Qi, Astragalus Root and Atractylodes Macrocephala Rhizome nourish Water, Prepared Rehmannia Root and Cornus Officinalis Fruit eliminate dampness, Poria dispels wind, Saposhnikovia Root guides the medicine to the channel, and Aconite Lateral Root...
Achieve efficacy...
Soreness and weakness in both legs occur because dampness has invaded the bones, while there is no dampness on the exterior skin. This disease exists not only within the bones but may also result from bedding. The formula consists of: Coix Seed 2 liang...
1 qian. Decoct in water and take orally.
Zhong Daxian (Great Immortal Zhong) comments that the subtlety of this formula in *Shishi Milu* lies in Coix Seed entering the bones to remove water-dampness, Euryale Seed strengthening the Spleen and eliminating dampness, Achyranthes Bidentata Root and Dioscorea Hypoglauca Rhizome being the most beneficial herbs for both feet, and Cinnamon Twig guiding the medicine directly into the bones. If dampness is not eliminated, soreness will not cease. It must be taken for a prolonged period to be effective.
For the eye condition known as "Flesh Climbing over the Cornea" (Pterygium), if left untreated, fleshy growths develop. People are unaware of precautions and flip their eyelids inside out seeking coolness. Who knows that exposure to Wind Pathogen causes eyelashes to grow inward...
Cassia Seed...
2 liang. After one course of treatment, symptoms will slightly subside; after two courses, full recovery is possible. Sexual intercourse is strictly contraindicated; those who can abstain from desires...
