Formula for treating epidemics in all seasons. Various accounts state: In the past, a great epidemic broke out in the city. A white-haired old man taught a wealthy family how to prepare medicine to distribute to the sick in the city, and all recovered. Later, the plague ghost asked the wealthy family about this. The family told the truth. The ghosts looked at each other and said, "This old man has already taught three people." They bowed and retreated.
When taking this medicine, avoid meat, fish, alcohol, and rich foods; it is invariably effective. During the Yuan Dynasty, a severe epidemic occurred in Taihe County, Ji'an City, Jiangxi Province. A physician was consulted. He said, "I am a doctor." A spirit asked, "What medicine do you use to treat diseases?" He replied, "I use medicine according to the coldness, heat, severity, and lightness of the disease." The spirit said, "No, simply use Xiangsu San." The physician returned home and followed this advice the next day; all cases were effective. Medical practice flourished, bringing benefits. He worshipped the spirit for life and recorded this here.
