[Chronic Epigastric Fullness]
Moxibustion is applied to the acupoints located approximately four finger-widths on both sides of Mingmen (GV4) along the midline of the back. If the fullness is on the left, moxibustion is applied to the right; if on the right, it is applied to the left.
Another method states that in treating epigastric fullness, one must treat the root cause of the fullness to ensure efficacy. This method involves marking a point with ink directly below the thirteenth thoracic vertebra at the center of the spine. On both sides of this ink mark, measure three and a half cun outward. By palpating with fingers, locate the area with distinct movement or sensitivity, mark this as the acupoint, and apply moxibustion. This point is approximately level with the umbilicus. Moxibustion is primarily applied to the left side, or to both sides, which constitutes treating the root of the fullness. Alternatively, treating the opposite side of the lesion also yields effective results.
