(A total of twenty-eight acupoints)
The *Qifu Lun* (Treatise on Qi-Producing Points) states: The points where the Qi of the Du Meridian emerges are twenty-eight in number. (A subsequent note indicates that one point is currently missing.) Two points in the center of the neck (referring to Fengfu GV16 and Yamen GV15). Eight points posterior to the hairline in the midline (referring to Shenting GV24, Shangxing GV23, Xinhui GV22, Qian Ding GV21, Baihui GV20, Hou Ding GV17, Jiangjian GV18, and Naohu GV16; these eight points). Three points in the midline of the face (referring to Suliao GV26, Shuigou GV27, and Yinjiao GV28; these three points). Fifteen points from Dazhui GV14 down to the sacrococcygeal region and its sides (In the intervertebral spaces, there are Dazhui GV14, Taodao GV13, Shenzhu GV12, Shendao GV11, Lingtai GV10, Zhiyang GV9, Jinsuo GV8, Zhongshu GV7, Jizhong GV6, Xuanxu GV5, Mingmen GV4, Yangguan GV3, Yaoshu GV34, Changqiang GV1, and Huiyang GB35; fifteen acupoints). Down to the lower end of the coccyx, there are twenty-one vertebral segments in total; this is the method for calculating the vertebrae.
The *Gukong Lun* (Treatise on Bone Cavities) states: The Du Meridian originates within the lower abdomen, descends to emerge at the central bone of the perineum. In women, it enters and connects to the Ting Kong (opening of the uterus), which is the terminal end of the urethral orifice. Its collateral network circulates through the external genitalia, converges in the center of the perineum, winds around the posterior aspect of the perineum, branches to wind around the buttocks, and joins with the collateral networks of the Foot-Shaoyin Kidney Meridian and the Foot-Taiyang Bladder Meridian. The Foot-Shaoyin Kidney Meridian ascends along the posterior medial border of the thigh, penetrates the spine, and attaches to the Kidneys. The Foot-Taiyang Bladder Meridian originates at the inner canthus of the eye, ascends to the forehead, intersects at the vertex, enters to connect with the Brain, exits again, descends separately to the nape, follows the medial aspect of the shoulder blades, flanks the spine to reach the middle of the waist, enters internally to circulate through the paraspinal muscles, and connects with the Kidneys. In men, it circulates down the penis to the perineum, identical to women. The vertical branch rises directly from the lower abdomen, penetrates the center of the umbilicus, ascends to penetrate the Heart, enters the throat, ascends to the chin, circles the lips, and ascends to connect with the central area below both eyes.
The *Yingqi Pian* (Chapter on Ying Qi) states: Ascending to the forehead, following the vertex, descending to the middle of the nape, following the spine into the sacrum—this is the Du Meridian.
The *Jingmai Pian* (Chapter on Meridians) states: The divergent branch of the Du Meridian is named Changqiang GV1. It flanks the paraspinal muscles, ascends to the nape, scatters over the head, and below, at the level of the shoulder blades on the left and right, it branches off to run to the Foot-Taiyang Bladder Meridian, entering and penetrating...
The *Nan Jing* (Classic of Difficult Issues) states: The Du Meridian originates at the Lower Extreme Acupoint (Changqiang GV1), runs parallel within the interior of the spine, ascends to Fengfu GV16, and enters to attach to the Brain.
Changqiang GV1 (The divergent branch of the Du Meridian, where the Qi of the Foot-Shaoyin Meridian knots ○ *Zhenjiu Ju Ying* says: The Qi of the Foot-Shaoyin and Foot-Shaoyang Meridians converges; the Du Meridian branches off to connect with the Ren Meridian.)

Yinjiao GV28 (Subsequent note says: Intersection of the Ren Meridian and Du Meridian ○ *Zhenjiu Ju Ying* says: Intersection of the Ren Meridian, Du Meridian, and Foot-Yangming Stomach Meridian.)
According to the *Jia Yi Jing* (*Systematic Classic of Acupuncture and Moxibustion*), *Qian Jin Fang* (*Essential Prescriptions Worth a Thousand Gold*), and *Wai Tai Mi Yao* (*Important Essential Formulas for Emergencies [That Are] Worth a Thousand Pieces of Gold*), the points Yangguan GV3, Zhongshu GV7, and Lingtai GV10 are absent. *Wai Tai Mi Yao* also lacks the point Duanduan GI15 (classified under the Large Intestine Meridian). A compromise view includes the point Huiyang GB35. Some argue that in the *Qifu Lun* and *Jia Yi Jing*, this point clearly belongs to the Du Meridian, but in the *Tong Ren Jing* (*Bronze Man Meridian and Acupoint Classics*), it is classified under the Foot-Taiyang Bladder Meridian. Speculating on the intent, the *Jia Yi Jing* and *Qian Jin Fang* did not mind the potential confusion with other meridians because this point was listed at the end of the third row of the Foot-Taiyang Bladder Meridian, so it was subsequently adopted. Now, it is reclassified under the Du Meridian to restore its original status. Comparing it with other meridians that have Luo-Connecting points, we expand upon the acupoint song, listing twenty-seven points, excluding Huiyang GB35. Hua Shou said: According to the *Nei Jing* (*Inner Canon*), there are twenty-eight points where the Du Meridian emerges. By calculation, one point below the tenth thoracic vertebra is named Zhongshu GV7; two points on either side of the tailbone are named Changqiang GV1. This totals twenty-nine points. Currently, there is one extra point, Yinjiao GV28, and one missing point, Zhongshu GV7. The two points Huiyang GB35 are the divergent branch of the Du Meridian, intersecting with the Foot-Shaoyang Gallbladder Meridian, hence only twenty-seven points are recorded. This explanation is erroneous and should not be read. Furthermore, regarding Changqiang GV1 as a pair of lateral points, this has no basis in ancient texts and should not be followed.
