Gualou Shi (Trichosanthis Fructus) one piece (crushed), Xiebai (Allii Macrostemonis Bulbus) half a jin, Baijiu (White Wine) seven sheng.
The above three ingredients are boiled together to obtain two sheng of decoction, which is taken in two divided doses at a warm temperature.
Gualou Shi (Trichosanthis Fructus) one piece (crushed), Xiebai (Allii Macrostemonis Bulbus) three liang, Banxia (Pinelliae Rhizoma) half a jin, Baijiu (White Wine) one dou.
The above four ingredients are boiled together to obtain four sheng of decoction; one sheng is taken warm each time, three times a day.
Zhishi (Aurantii Fructus Immaturus) four pieces, Houpo (Magnoliae Officinalis Cortex) four liang, Xiebai (Allii Macrostemonis Bulbus) half a jin, Guizhi (Cinnamomi Ramulus) one liang, Gualou Shi (Trichosanthis Fructus) one piece (crushed).
The above five ingredients are treated with five sheng of water. First, Zhishi (Aurantii Fructus Immaturus) and Houpo (Magnoliae Officinalis Cortex) are boiled to obtain two sheng of decoction. The dregs are removed, and the remaining herbs are added. After boiling for a few more minutes, the decoction is divided into three warm doses.
These three formulas for treating Xiongbi (Chest Bi Syndrome / Chest Pain) all use Gualou Shi (Trichosanthis Fructus) and Xiebai (Allii Macrostemonis Bulbus). However, their therapeutic methods slightly differentiate among the Upper, Middle, and Lower Jiao (Sanjiao / Triple Burner). The *Neijing* (Inner Canon) states: "When pathogenic factors overflow causing panting, the Bi syndrome gathers in the Lung."
The qi of panting relates to the Stomach; there is no comparison regarding foot symptoms.
Fuzi (Aconiti Lateralis Radix Praeparata) one piece (processed), Banxia (Pinelliae Rhizoma) half a jin, Gancao (Glycyrrhizae Radix et Rhizoma) one liang, Dazao (Jujubae Fructus) ten pieces, Jingmi (Oryza Sativa) half a sheng.
The above five ingredients are treated with eight sheng of water. Boil until the rice is cooked and the decoction is ready. Remove the dregs and take one sheng warm, three times a day.
Fuzi Jingmi Tang (Aconite and Rice Decoction) is a formula that warms the Stomach and unblocks Yang through the Kidney. This treatise states: "Cold qi in the abdomen causes borborygmus like thunder, cutting pain, fullness and counterflow in the chest and hypochondrium, and vomiting. This is because the pathogen is high." Treatment can involve warming the meridians.
Danggui (Angelicae Sinensis Radix) three liang, Shengjiang (Zingiberis Rhizoma Recens) five liang, Yangrou (Mutton) one jin.
The above three ingredients are treated with eight sheng of water. Boil to obtain three sheng of decoction. Take seven ge warm each time, three times a day. If cold is severe, add Shengjiang (Zingiberis Rhizoma Recens) to make one jin; if pain is severe accompanied by vomiting...
Hanshan (Cold Spasm) is caused by deep cold in the lower jiao, resulting from Yin deficiency. In cases of Yin deficiency, acrid-hot and drying drugs should not be used to severely deplete Yin further. Therefore, Zhang Zhongjing established another method, entering the Qi level.
Gansui (Kansui Radix) three large pieces, Banxia (Pinelliae Rhizoma) twelve pieces (boiled in one sheng of water to obtain half a sheng, then filtered), Shaoyao (Paeoniae Radix Alba) five pieces, Gancao (Glycyrrhizae Radix et Rhizoma) one piece as thick as a finger.
(Another version omits Gancao).
The above four ingredients are treated with two sheng of water. Boil to obtain half a sheng, remove the dregs, mix with half a sheng of honey, and boil to obtain eight ge. Take in one dose.
Gansui (Kansui Radix) is incompatible with Gancao (Glycyrrhizae Radix et Rhizoma). "Incompatible" here means that while one aims to descend, the other aims to ascend. By using Baishao (White Peony Root) to constrain it and Baimi (White Honey) to moisten it, although they are incompatible, Gansui (Kansui Radix) can still penetrate downward. The *Lingshu* (Spiritual Pivot) says: "Constraining a formula is like constraining a bag." Gansui (Kansui Radix) and Banxia (Pinelliae Rhizoma) drive out retained fluid overflowing between the stomach and intestines. Even after purging, hardness and fullness persist. Unless stimulated and propelled by Gancao (Glycyrrhizae Radix et Rhizoma) and White Honey, which are greatly incompatible with Gansui (Kansui Radix), how can the root of the retained pathogen be removed? The formulation relying on incompatibility fully depends on the sour taste of Shaoyao (Paeoniae Radix) overcoming the sweet taste,
