Another prescription: Apply menstrual blood from a woman to the affected area; this is the best method. Yao states it has miraculous effects.
If a person already has an open sore on their body while riding a horse, horse sweat may contaminate it. Or horse hair may enter the wound, or simply be steamed by the horse's qi. All these can cause swelling, pain, restlessness, and heat; if the toxin enters the abdomen, it can be fatal.

After ten days, the pain deepened daily, the sore became high and swollen, and the color resembled that of cooked small beans. Having heard elders discuss this prescription, I followed it for treatment. The pain ceased immediately, and the sore healed. Within ten days, I recovered completely."
