Crush the herbs, take half a liang per dose, decoct with ginger and jujube, and take before meals. After taking five or six doses before meals, chills, fever, abdominal pain, and cramping will subside. Case Study: A woman over fifty years old had been amenorrheic for seven years but suddenly experienced vaginal bleeding, leading to metrorrhagia and metrostaxis accompanied by fever and abdominal pain, which persisted for two months without improvement. Upon examination, her pulse was found to be deficient, thin, rapid, and frequent. I stated, "This is caused by Yin deficiency; it is appropriate to take this medicine."
Lurong Wan (Deer Antler Pill): Treats excessive menstruation with dark,瘀 black blood, severe cases of metrorrhagia, shortness of breath, extreme cold in the umbilical and abdominal regions causing sweat like rain, and a minute and faint radial pulse. This condition arises from the deficiency and decline of the Chong and Ren meridians, where wind-cold pathogens invade the uterus, preventing Qi from securing the blood. Moxibustion can be applied to the Guanyuan CV-4 acupoint (located three cun directly below the umbilicus) for one hundred moxa cones.
Ingredients: Deer Antler (Lu Rong, hair removed and fried with butter), Red Kaolin (Chishizhi, processed), Halloysitum Rubrum (Yuyuliang, processed) (each one liang), Mugwort Leaf (Ai Ye, absent in one prescription), Cinnabar Barrenwort Epimedium Herba (Baye), Prepared Aconite Root (Fuzi, processed) (each half a liang), Prepared Rehmannia Root (Shudihuang), Angelica Sinensis Radix (Danggui), Dipsacus Asperoides Root (Xuduan) (each two liang).

[Xue Ji] The wife of my cousin's son-in-law, Fang Jianfu, aged fifty, suffered from metrorrhagia in the Xin Chou year, to which various medicines were ineffective. In the eighth month of the Ren Yin year, she experienced body heat and pain, dizziness, runny nose, expectoration, and poor appetite. Others treated it as a fire syndrome, leading to worsening fever and several days of fasting. Upon examination, I said, "The spleen and stomach have been deficient for a long time; excessive use of cold medicines has not resolved the central pathology, and a cold syndrome has re-emerged." Therefore, I administered one dose of Bawei Wan material. By the next morning, she requested a few spoons of porridge, and after taking the medicine again, her food intake doubled, fever subsided, and pain stopped. She subsequently took Bawei Wan and recovered. In the autumn of the Gui Mao year, due to labor, worry, and anger, the disease recurred in the summer of the Jia Chen year. She experienced chest fullness and fever, back and lower back pain, depressed spirit, sometimes diagnosed as internal injury, sometimes as summerheat. She suffered from metrorrhagia and hematochezia, irritability, thirst with desire to drink, inability to eat even a grain of rice, intermittent coma, and a surging pulse that felt weak upon pressure. This is rootless fire, internal deficiency cold with external false heat. I prescribed Shiquan Dabu Tang (Ten Great Tonifying Decoction) plus one dose of Fuzi (Aconite). Subsequently, she could eat three or four spoons of porridge, and bleeding gradually decreased. Daily administration of Bawei Wan led to complete recovery.
The wife of Wang Tiancheng, Da Yin, suffered from chronic metrorrhagia. She self-administered Siwu Tang (Four Substance Decoction) and other cooling blood agents, with symptoms fluctuating. Due to anger and fever, bleeding did not stop. Previous medicines were ineffective. The physician advocated clearing fire, resulting in severe abdominal and hypochondriac pain and cold extremities. I stated, "This is caused by spleen and stomach deficiency cold." I first used Fuzi Lizhong Tang (Aconite Spleen Center Decoction), which stopped the heat and pain. Then, using Jisheng Guipi Tang (Jisheng Spleen-Restoring Decoction) and Buzhong Yiqi Tang (Middle-Boosting Qi-Supplementing Decoction), the bleeding ceased immediately. If one adheres rigidly to the rule that "pain has no tonification method," it would be a mistake.
The wife of Yang Yongxing, Jin Yi, suffered from the aforementioned condition. Overuse of cold and cooling agents worsened her symptoms, adding abdominal distension and stuffiness, inability to eat, fever, irritability, and a surging yet empty pulse. I stated, "This is irritability caused by deficiency of Qi and blood in the spleen meridian." Urgent treatment with Bazhen Tang (Eight Treasures Decoction) plus Pao Jiang (Processed Ginger) for warming and tonification was necessary; delay would be fatal. Disbelieving this, she took hemostatic and fire-clearing agents, leading to a proliferation of deficiency syndromes. Only then did she believe me, but it was too late to treat.

Regarding the above five formulas using Long Earth (Fulonggan): Dryness can remove dampness. The first two formulas remove damp-heat, while the latter two remove cold-damp. Long Earth is considered a holy medicine for stopping bleeding. Ancients treated metrorrhagia by using Inula Flower (Xuanfuhua) and Pinellia Tuber (Banxia) to treat phlegm-damp in the diaphragm, thereby stopping bleeding, which follows this same principle.
