Shui Chen Gao (Water-Sinking Paste): Treats Ding Chuang (carbuncle/furuncle).
Take Baiguo Gen (Radix Ginkgonis, fresh ones are preferred).
Grind the above material with Mi Cu (Rice Vinegar) to a thick consistency, let it settle, and take the sediment. Spread it on oil paper for external application, or grind with Jiu (Alcohol) for internal administration.
Fu Ding Gao (Ding-Carbuncle Applying Paste): Treats Ding Chuang (carbuncle/furuncle) as well as Wu Ming Zhong Du (unknown swelling and toxicity) and Zhang Qi (miasma) syndromes.
Take Sheng Lan Ye (Fresh Indigo Leaf, quantity unrestricted, washed clean).
Pound the leaves into a paste and apply to the affected area; decoct the stems in Jiu (Alcohol) for oral consumption.
Another prescription:
Take Maoshi Ti Ye (Leaves of Maoshi Ti).
Harvest fresh leaves, rub them in Mi Gan Shui (Rice Wash Water), warm the mixture, and brush it onto the lesion. Also, rub the roots in Mi Gan Shui (Rice Wash Water), warm it, and consume orally.
Another prescription: Treats all kinds of E Chuang (malignant sores) and Du Rou (toxic flesh) that does not slough off.
Use only Wumei (Fructus Mume), burn it to ash, grind into powder, and apply to the site; the toxic flesh will immediately fall off.
Moxibustion Method for Ding Chuang (Carbuncle/Furuncle):
Locate five cun posterior to the transverse crease of the palm (near Laogong PC8), select the left hand for males and the right hand for females. Apply seven moxa cones (Zhuang); the condition will heal. This method has proven effective repeatedly.
Moxibustion Method:
Chu Yushu stated: For Ding Chuang (carbuncle/furuncle) located on its corresponding meridian, perform draining methods. Ding Chuang (carbuncle/furuncle) must arise between the hands and feet, presenting with a yellow head, possibly purple-black in the center. A red line extends straight upward. During meals, urgently use a needle to prick at the tip of the red line to release toxic blood. Then, apply medications such as Chansu Ruxiang Gao (Toad Venom and Frankincense Paste) onto the main sore. Pricking is considered proper when the patient feels pain and bleeding occurs; otherwise, if the red line enters the abdomen and attacks the heart, it will inevitably lead to critical danger.
Bai Yi Zhi Ding Zhong (Hundred-One Treatment for Ding Swelling): Prick the four sides of the Ding Zhong (carbuncle swelling) with a needle, sprinkle Pomegranate Peel Powder on the sore, surround the four sides with flour paste, and moxibustion until the patient feels pain. Apply the mixed powder to the sore, bandage tightly; after one night, the root will emerge spontaneously.
Song Zhen Fa (Pine Needle Method):
Select extremely hard leaves from pine branches facing north, bundle them neatly and tie tightly. Carefully contemplate the path of the Du Wa (toxic qi), and needle the soft areas where the toxin travels, ensuring bleeding occurs. Moisten the area with wine beforehand; the pricked spot will cause slight pain, requiring the patient to endure it slightly. Then, mix Xionghuang Powder (Realgar Powder) with a small amount of Shexiang (Musk), blend with warm wine, and administer one to two doses. After ingestion, proceed with the pine needle acupuncture.
For Ding Chuang (carbuncle/furuncle) where toxic qi enters the abdomen, causing frequent vomiting and near-death symptoms, immediately administer Ne Tuo Xiang Fen San (Internal-Supporting Fragrant Powder).
Di Ru (Olibanum/Resin of Boswellia) half liang, separately ground Zhen Lv Dou Fen (True Mung Bean Flour) one liang, made into fine powder. Decoct Sheng Gan Cao Tang (Raw Licorice Soup), mix three qian of the powder, and drink frequently to keep the chest and diaphragm moistened. (Another formula uses equal parts of Xionghuang (Realgar), Lv Dou Fen (Mung Bean Flour), and Ruxiang (Frankincense), ground into powder and taken with water.)
Bai Er San (Hundred-Two Powder, also known as Hu Xin San / Heart-Protecting Powder): Treats Ding Chuang (carbuncle/furuncle) onset with irritability and restlessness, where hands and feet move uncontrollably due to madness. Urgently administer this.
Gan Cao Jie (Licorice Node), Lv Dou Fen (Mung Bean Flour), Zhu Sha (Cinnabar) (equal parts).
Grind into fine powder. Take three qian per dose, mixed with boiled water.
For Ding Chuang (carbuncle/furuncle) entering the abdomen causing vomiting, decoct Naren Tou Nong Zhi (Concentrated Juice of Daoist Monk's Head) and drink it.
Treat Ding Chuang (carbuncle/furuncle) where toxic qi enters the abdomen, causing dizziness, lethargy, and loss of appetite.
Zihua Diding (Viola Yedoensis), Chantui (Cicada Slough), Guanzhong (Dryopteris Crassirhizoma Rhizome) (one liang each), Dingxiang (Caryophylli Flos), Ruxiang (Olibanum/Frankincense) (two qian each).
Grind into fine powder. Take two qian per dose, with warm wine on an empty stomach. (Zihua Diding (Viola Yedoensis) appears during wheat harvest season, opens purple flowers, has a very brittle texture, resembling Pulingshu (Taraxacum/Monkshood), but Pulingshu (Taraxacum/Monkshood) opens yellow flowers, while Diding (Viola Yedoensis) opens purple flowers.)
[Rui]: For critical Ding Chuang (carbuncle/furuncle), two doses result in cure; for mild cases, one dose brings immediate effect.
Tu Feng Fang (Earthen Beehive, one small complete hive; Bencao states upper beehives are toxic and promote bowel/bladder movement), She Tui (Snake Slough, one complete strip).
Place together in a vessel, seal with Huang Ni (Yellow Clay), calcine over fire to preserve nature, grind into fine powder. Take one qian per dose, with good wine on an empty stomach. After a short while, severe abdominal pain occurs; once the pain stops, the sore has transformed into yellow fluid. Continue administering Wu Sheng San (Five-Sages Powder).
Da Huang (Rhei Radix et Rhizoma), Gan Cao (Glycyrrhizae Radix et Rhizoma) (one liang each), Sheng Jiang (Zingiberis Rhizoma Recens), Zao Jiao Zhen (Gleditsiae Spina), Jin Yin Hua (Lonicerae Japonicae Flos) (two liang each), Gua Lou (Trichosanthis Fructus) (one fruit).
Cut into pieces. Decoct with two sheng of good wine until reduced to eight fen, remove dregs, take at any time.
This is highly effective for treating Ding Chuang (carbuncle/furuncle). Use Cang Er (Xanthii Fructus) and Chou Mudan (Paeonia Suffruticosa Root Bark or related herb) each in large handfuls, pound into paste, mix with Xin Ji Shui (Newly Drawn Water) or Shun Liu Shui (Flowing Water), take one bowl; discharge of black water indicates recovery.
