Filter cleanly through fine silk cloth, reserve one bowl of clear juice for "fei" (levigation/flying) processing, and reserve three bowls of turbid juice for "cui" (quenching) processing. Take a molten copper pot, add 1 jin of crushed Ganshi (Calamina), cover with new tile, seal tightly with pine charcoal, burn until extremely red-hot, remove with tongs, let cool slightly, then quench into the medicinal juice. Quench three times. Then take the reserved clear juice, levigate finely, grind until no sound is heard after thousands of repetitions. Clarify, remove impurities, sun-dry, and grind again until silent. Sieve repeatedly through fine silk cloth, store in porcelain containers for use.
