Leukorrhea is caused by exhaustion damaging the blood and qi, injuring the Chong (Penetrating) vessel and Ren (Conception) vessel, resulting in the discharge of blood mixed with turbid fluids. The Chong and Ren vessels are the seas of the twelve meridians. The circulation of menstrual blood nourishes the five zang organs internally; the colors of the five zang organs differ according to their respective organs. If the menstrual blood is damaged, either by cold or heat, and all five zang organs suffer from deficiency and damage, then the color will be discharged along with the turbid fluids, manifesting as leukorrhea with discharges of five colors.
This condition arises from exhaustion damaging the blood and qi, disturbing the Chong and Ren vessels. The Chong and Ren vessels both originate within the uterus (Bao Gong) and serve as the seas of the meridians; the Hand-Taiyang Small Intestine meridian and the Hand-Shaoyin Heart meridian are responsible for the downward flow that forms menstruation. If the meridians are damaged and the qi of the Chong and Ren vessels is deficient, failing to restrain the menstrual blood, it mixes with turbid fluids to form leukorrhea. However, all five zang organs receive blood and qi, and their colors vary according to the specific organ. The color of the Liver is green; if the leukorrheal discharge is green, it indicates liver deficiency and damage, hence the presence of green color in the discharge.

However, all five zang organs receive blood and qi, and their colors vary according to the specific organ. The color of the Spleen is yellow; if the leukorrheal discharge is yellow, it indicates spleen deficiency and damage, hence the presence of yellow color in the discharge.
