Treating Taiyang disease where the exterior syndrome has not subsided, yet purgation has been applied multiple times, resulting in diarrhea with fever (Xie Re Li), unceasing stool, epigastric fullness and hardness (Xin Xia Pi Ying), and unresolved exterior and interior conditions.
The original Lizhong Tang formula is modified by adding Guizhi (Cinnamon Twig) four liang, increasing Gancao (Licorice Root) by one liang. Use nine sheng of water, first decoct the initial four ingredients to obtain five sheng, then add Guizhi (Cinnamon Twig), and further decoct to obtain three sheng.
Guizhi Renshen Tang (Cinnamon Twig and Ginseng Decoction) consists of Gancao (Licorice Root), Baizhu (Atractylodes Macrocephala Rhizome), Ganjiang (Dried Ginger), and Renshen (Ginseng Radix). It is used for Taiyang Xie Re Li (Diarrhea with Fever). This condition necessarily arises from multiple purgations damaging the Middle Qi, leading to Interior Deficiency-Cold; thus, this formula is employed. (This scenario must correspond to cases caused by multiple purgations.)
Treating Shanghan (Cold Damage) that has persisted for eight or nine days, where Wind-Dampness pathogens are intermingling, causing severe body pain and inability to turn over independently, without vomiting or thirst, and with a floating, deficient, and choppy pulse.
Guizhi (Cinnamon Twig) [4 liang], Fuzi (Prepared Aconite Lateralis Radix) [3 pieces], Gancao (Licorice Root) [2 liang], Shengjiang (Fresh Ginger) [3 liang], Dazao (Jujube Fruit) [12 pieces]. Use six sheng of water, decoct to obtain two sheng.
(Note: The original text contains lacunae or textual corruption here, mentioning "pieces, to treat the pulse after purgation," and notes that other compilations include this in the *Guizhi Tang* chapter.)
For symptoms identical to the above, but with hard stools and spontaneous urination, this formula is appropriate.
Guizhi Fuzi Tang (Cinnamon Twig and Aconite Decoction): Remove Guizhi (Cinnamon Twig), add Baizhu (Atractylodes Macrocephala Rhizome) four liang. The decoction and administration method are the same. After the first dose, the patient's body feels numb (Bi); within half a day, after completing three doses, the patient experiences... (Text cuts off here).
Gancao Fuzi Tang (Licorice and Aconite Decoction): Treats intermingling of Wind-Dampness, causing painful and irritating joints with pulling pain, inability to flex or extend, severe pain upon touch, sweating with shortness of breath, difficult urination, aversion to wind with reluctance to remove clothing, or slight bodily edema.
Gancao (Honey-fried) [2 liang each], Baizhu (Atractylodes Macrocephala Rhizome) [2 liang each], Guizhi (Cinnamon Twig) [4 liang], Fuzi (Prepared Aconite Lateralis Radix) [2 pieces, processed]. Use six sheng of water, decoct to obtain three sheng, strain, and take warm.
Guizhi Fuzi Tang contains Gancao (Licorice Root), decocted with Shengjiang (Fresh Ginger) and Dazao (Jujube Fruit) for Wind-Dampness syndromes. Symptoms include heavy body and difficulty turning over (Heavy Dampness pathogen), deficient pulse without thirst (Deficiency of both Interior and Exterior Yang).
Shu Fu Tang (Atractylodes and Aconite Decoction): Frequent urination, (Dampness obstructing joints).
"Shu Fu Kuang" (Suspected interpolation or error). Wind-Dampness... regarding Dampness, Bai... record this.)
Gan Jiang Ling Zhu Tang (Ginger, Poria, and Atractylodes Decoction), also known as Shen Zhuo Tang (Kidney Fixation Decoction): Treats Shen Zhuo Bing (Kidney Fixation Disease). The patient suffers from a heavy body, coldness in the waist as if sitting in water, appearance resembling fluid retention, yet no thirst or desire to drink. There is heaviness in the abdomen as if bound by a belt of five thousand coins, and excessive salivation.
