Chuanwu Jian (the tip of the large Chuanwu Aconite Root, use one tip per dose, grind thickly with water in a mortar, add to Jiaoyao) Dengxin Hui (Rush Pith Ash, 5 fen)
(Ji Bingpeng San) Treats all types of throat disorders. It has miraculous efficacy.
Dameipian (Borneol, 6 li) Shexiang (Musk, 4 li) Pengsha (Borax, 1 qian) Ti Yaxiao (Refined Niter, 3 fen, boil with radish until thoroughly cooked, then filter into clear water, expose overnight; those that precipitate and form horse-tooth crystals are preferred)
Grind together into an extremely fine powder, ensuring cleanliness is paramount. Store in a porcelain bottle, tightly sealed. When needed, take a small amount and insufflate onto the affected area. After the airway is unblocked, on the following day or for patients with weak constitution and dizziness, remove the Musk. (This variety is known as Xuedan Snow Pill) As the toxic swelling gradually subsides, if incision is used, remove the Niter. (When both Musk and Niter are removed, it is called Lv Xuedan) Add Qingdai (Indigo Naturalis), named Qingxuedan.
For pregnant women suffering from throat disorders, this formula is suitable.
Da Bingpian (Borneol, 1 fen) Zhen Xiongdan (Bear Bile, 1 qian, dried in shade, ground finely before use) Luganshi (Calcined Gypsum, 1 qian, decocted with Qianghuo seven times, discard the sediment, dry in sun) Pengsha (Borax, 1 qian) Yaxiao (Niter, 2 fen)
Grind together into an extremely fine powder and insufflate onto the affected area. As the toxic swelling gradually subsides, remove the Niter. After incision, Lv Xuedan must be used.
This formula is intended for patients who fear surgical incision; while fumigation may facilitate rupture and show quick effects, it cannot achieve rapid healing.
Qiancao (Rubia Cordifolia Root, 1 liang) Jinmao Gouji (Drynaria Rhizome, 5 qian) Tangmi Gen (Zijingpi Root, 1 liang, also known as Caesalpinia Crista Root) Lugen (Reed Rhizome, 2 liang, peeled)
Place the herbs and rice vinegar in a small jar, seal tightly with thick paper, and boil in water. Open a small hole at the top of the lid, sized like a chopstick head. Fumigate the swollen area. If it does not rupture immediately, add seven shelled Badou (Croton Seed) grains, boil again, and fumigate; this is highly effective. (If it ruptures but healing is slow, insufflate Shengji San)
In cases where accidental knife injury causes continuous bleeding, insufflating this powder will stop the blood immediately.
Diru Xiang (Frankincense, 1 liang, completely defatted) Moyao (Myrrh, 1 liang, completely defatted) Zhen Xuiejie (Dragon's Blood, 1 liang) Ming Pengsha (Clear Borax, 1 liang)
Grind into an extremely fine powder. Use a small amount each time, insufflating into the wound caused by the knife for efficacy.
