择白净灯草，放于金漆桌上，喷清水，灯草上，用笔管一头草住，将灯草用竹筷筑于管
中，再用纸塞，一头放火中，烧竹通红，收出，放在瓶中，用湿手巾覆之，待冷取出，去竹灰，
收储听用。必要黑色而成团者佳。
将巴豆净肉，去衣用一两，以麻油七钱，煮，酒七钱同煎，油酒尽为度，取起放于矾中
，入银罐内，炭火 ，以筷刺入罐底，搅之无块为佳。连罐覆洁净地上，再用碗覆之，过七日，
收储听用。
又法，明矾三钱，入铫溶化，投入巴豆肉三粒，待干，去巴豆，研用，名曰巴矾。
四月间买青梅子，捣碎去核，放碗内，投矾一层，捉蜒蚰，不拘多少，待矾、蜒蚰烊尽
，再投梅矾一层，再捉蜒蚰投下，烊尽，至百日，倾入银罐中，炭火 之，以筷刺入罐底，搅之
无块为度，待如馒头样发起者，即取下，连罐覆于地上，以碗盖之，过七日后，火毒出尽，
收储用之。
又法，将青脆大梅子，去核打碎，铺在碗底内，再将蜒蚰数条，铺梅肉上，又将白矾末
铺于蜒蚰上，逐层铺完，待其矾、蚰化尽，日中晒梅极干研用，或瓦上炙脆为末，如痰涎壅塞喉
风等症，加入各吹药中，皆效。或蜜汤同药调和，渗下咽喉，亦可消痰，神效。
腊月采集黑鱼胆，阴干。或者用人的皮囊盛装并晒干，研碎后使用。
挑选洁白干净的灯心草，放在金漆桌面上，喷洒清水在灯心草上，用笔管的一端堵住（防止液体流出），将灯心草用竹筷塞入管中，再用纸塞住另一端，将一端放入火中，烧至竹管通红，取出，放入瓶中，用湿毛巾覆盖，待冷却后取出，去除竹灰，收集储存以备使用。必须选择黑色且结成团块的为佳。
取巴豆净肉，去皮使用一两，加入七钱麻油，再加入七钱酒共同煎煮，直到油和酒完全蒸发为止，取出放入明矾中，装入银罐内，用炭火加热，用筷子插入罐底搅拌，以没有块状物为佳。连同罐子倒扣在洁净的地面上，再用碗盖住，过七天后，收集储存以备使用。
另一种方法：明矾三钱，放入铫子中熔化，投入三粒巴豆肉，待其干燥后，去掉巴豆，研碎使用，名为“巴矾”。
四月间购买青梅，捣碎去核，放入碗中，铺一层明矾，捕捉蛞蝓（蜒蚰），数量不限，待明矾和蛞蝓完全融化后，再铺一层梅子和明矾的混合物，再捕捉蛞蝓投入，直至完全融化，经过一百天，倒入银罐中，用炭火加热，用筷子插入罐底搅拌，以没有块状物为度，等到像馒头一样发起时，立即取下，连同罐子倒扣在地面上，用碗盖住，过七天后，火毒完全排出，收集储存使用。
另一种方法：将青脆的大梅子去核打碎，铺在碗底，再将几条蛞蝓铺在梅肉上，又将白矾末铺在蛞蝓上，逐层铺完，待明矾和蛞蝓完全融化，在阳光下晒梅极干后研碎使用，或者在瓦片上烤脆研成粉末，如痰涎壅塞喉风等病症，加入各种吹药中，都有效。或者用蜜汤与药物调和，渗入咽喉，也可以消痰，效果神奇。
先用侧柏子末放入瓷锅中，再将琥珀放入末中，用炭火煮，从巳时到申时，出现别有的异光，即取出，扬起如粉般沉重，研细至极为标准。
In the twelfth lunar month, collect the gallbladder of the black carp (Siniperca chuatsi), dry it in the shade. Alternatively, store it in a human bladder and dry it, then grind for use.
Select clean and white Juncus effusus (Jiedaca, 灯心草), place it on a gold-lacquered table, spray with clear water onto the Juncus effusus. Use one end of a brush tube to block the opening, insert the Juncus effusus into the tube using bamboo chopsticks, and seal the other end with paper. Place one end in the fire, burn until the bamboo tube turns red, then remove. Place it in a bottle, cover with a wet towel, wait for it to cool, then remove, discard the bamboo ash, and store for future use. The best quality is black and forms a compact mass.
Take one tael of the inner meat of Crotonis Fructus (Badou, 巴豆) after removing the husk. Add seven qian of Sesamum indicum oil (Mahu, 麻油) and seven qian of wine, decoct together until the oil and wine are completely evaporated. Remove and place into Mingfan (Alumen, 明矾). Put into a silver pot, heat over charcoal fire. Insert chopsticks into the bottom of the pot and stir until no lumps remain. Cover the pot upside down on a clean surface, then cover with a bowl. After seven days, collect and store for use.
Another method: Take three qian of Alumen (Mingfan, 明矾), melt it in a yin vessel, throw in three kernels of Crotonis Fructus (Badou, 巴豆). Wait until dry, remove the Crotonis Fructus, grind for use. This is named "Ba Fan".
In the fourth lunar month, buy green plums, crush them, remove the pits, and place them in a bowl. Layer with Alumen (Mingfan, 明矾). Catch Agriolimax agrestis (Yanyou, 蜒蚰/蛞蝓), the quantity is not restricted. Wait until the Alumen and Agriolimax agrestis are completely dissolved. Then add another layer of crushed plum and Alumen. Catch more Agriolimax agrestis and add them, until completely dissolved. After one hundred days, pour into a silver pot, heat over charcoal fire. Insert chopsticks into the bottom of the pot and stir until no lumps remain. When it rises like a steamed bun, remove immediately. Cover the pot upside down on the ground, cover with a bowl. After seven days, the fire toxicity is completely expelled. Collect and store for use.
Another method: Take large, crisp green plums, remove the pits, and crush them. Spread them at the bottom of a bowl. Place several Agriolimax agrestis (Yanyou, 蜒蚰/蛞蝓) on top of the plum flesh. Then spread powdered Alumen (Bai Fan, 白矾) on top of the Agriolimax agrestis. Continue layering until finished. Wait until the Alumen and Agriolimax agrestis are completely dissolved. Dry the plums thoroughly in the sun, then grind for use. Alternatively, roast them on tiles until crisp and grind into powder. For conditions such as phlegm-fluid obstruction causing throat wind (Houfeng, 喉风), add this to various insufflation powders; all are effective. Or mix with honey water and administer to penetrate the throat; it can also resolve phlegm with miraculous efficacy.
First, put powdered Platycladi Semen (Cebai Zi, 侧柏子) into a porcelain pot. Then add Succinum (Hupo, 琥珀) into the powder. Boil over charcoal fire from Si hour (9-11 AM) to Shen hour (3-5 PM). When a unique light appears, remove it. Lift it so it falls like heavy powder, and grind until extremely fine.
